I think I'm going to get one of these. So cheap. Especially like the separate 2.4 & 5Ghz antennas.

Anyone can give a review on the wireless repeater bridging performance? Any gooding on 2.5 and 5ghz? Or comparison with other brands.

I'm thinking of buying this and use as repeater instead of buying a dedicated wireless extender as I heard those wireless extender can't handle multi clients well.

The requirement is to repeat wifi signal from unifi at first floor by installing this at ground floor where the signal was still decent.

True, true. But if <RM100, I don't mind. Would have been perfect if it was gigabit.

The repeater just give a boost signal

Not true, the router handles connections and routing. Let's say 10000 connections. Could be 100 clients x 100 connections each or 10 x 1000. The repeater, in addition to acting as a repeater back to the base station, is also acting as an AP to registered wifi devices. Some APs just can't handle too many, maybe 10, 20, 40 or 80. It matters because the AP does more than just boost a signal, it manages collision avoidance and retransmission to each and every device.

Having said that I'm sure the MiR3 can handle anything thrown at it in a typical residential environment.

i flashed mine after using the stock FW for a week

it feels 'a little bit' more responsive on surfing, there's only about 10 connected devices at home so the router is having a constant low load, got this router just to have the 5G band (replacing my old RT12 UHP with Tomato USB firmware) at a bloody good price (paid RM95, so I cant complain tongue.gif)

wifi coverage on 2.4G is definitely wider, router's placed inside a store room at the back of a normal double storey house, i used to not be able to get any signals if i park my car opposite the street, now i'm getting about 2 bars (of 4) of signal on that spot

5G coverage improvement unknown, this is my first AC router laugh.gif
