It's not fiber cable anyway, it's still copper and it will be treated same like old streamyx where installation/rewiring will be charged. Rewiring minimum charge are RM50. If just install the cable from pole to the house DP, the charge will be RM30 something. You can look at the ping, it's still 45ms. Technically, Unifi Lite in the SUBB area where TM using the existing copper infra can be considered as 'enhanced' streamyx with the new VDSL capable street cabinet that can support up to 10mbps download and upload (but they set the upload just to 5mbps). It's still Streamyx with the new 'name'. FOC installation within certain cable length limit only available for STANDARD FIBER Unifi that available in the HSBB area. Not SUBB. I might be wrong but let's see how this things will goes in the future. But for the time being, I can see that Unifi Lite in the SUBB area will be treated same like Streamyx.

My neighbour house opposite is using Unifi Pro 50Mbps, so can I assume my area is HSBB and my Unifi Lite will be using fiber? As such there will be no installation/rewiring charges?

let's say I upgrade from streamyx 8mbps, how about my existing equipment provided by TM? Need to return or it's mine to keep?
Can the existing STB be used on unifi lite network as they don't provide STB anymore for unifi lite?

Bloody hell TM...
My taman being "kepong" by Unifi Fibre for years but still cannot support Unifi Lite thru VDSL.
My taman is not listed in the Unifi system according to https://www.facebook.com/qimilia90

Can I force them to deploy VDSL to my taman?

You can't force tm to do so. They will put profit margin at the first place and then only think whether should they install VDSL/Fiber at your taman.

If option for voice 20, can I use back the old streamyx fixed line number? With VDSL copper technology? It must get the new number?

If can force TM,I already force them to install HSBB cable in my area but can't.They only install VDSL cable and cabinet for time being.

Btw,You can force them by giving them a list of people who wants UniFi Lite.If it reaches the target they wanted,They will deploy the cable in no time.

Welp can say it is semi-confirmed based on discussion from various site and leaked screenshot,
here's a *rumors* about the package

- to be launch earliest in Apr'17?
- 10M DL speed (duh..) / 5M Upload
- priced RM149 / 129? (w/ or w/out HyppTV)
- Run at VDSL instead of Fibre, in other words still using shitty copper line, more like Streamyx pro, Unifi my arse

UPDATE:
06/04/17: For area which doesn't have Unifi coverage / port full.
15/04/17: *FROM* RM149 now, no lower package available (to be confirmed whether Voice call can be removed = RM129)

Nothing had been official from TM yet,
let's see what happen from tomorrow onward...

Wow is Unifi Lite is use copper cable then it should be streamyx the Fi end of unifi name is stand for fibre, unifi use FTTH PPPoE(fiber-to-the-home) which common way of delivering triple- and quad-play (voice, video, data, and mobile) services over both fiber and hybrid fiber-coaxial (HFC) networks. Active PPPoE uses dedicated fiber from an operator's central office all the way to the subscribers' homes, while hybrid networks (often FTTN) use it to transport data via fiber to an intermediate point to ensure sufficiently high throughput speeds over last mile copper connections.
