QUOTE(SKY 1809 @ Jul 21 2024, 08:57 AM) Millions of EPF , ASN/ASB n mutual fund contributors ( indirectly ) make money from stock markets. Well, unsuccessfully ones always think negatively, more successful ones think positively. According to wealth reports, only about 4% of adults in this country have >USD 100k net worth. Means over 96% of adults advise or opinion on investment is unworthy.

Oversupply in cbj is not a surprise or shock. at one time, there were over 20 towers under construction in cbj, which one could observe and count, and cbj population need to triple to fill them. however, most were blinded by greed, chose to ignore the facts and reality.

QUOTE(SKY 1809 @ Jul 23 2024, 08:15 PM) No News yet . But " smaller ones " could be :- Global tech like Tik Tok , Alibaba, Huawei or Nvidia, are making significant investments in Malaysia, underscoring the country's growing importance in the data centre industry. AWS, for instance, has pledged RM27.6bn to establish a cloud region in Malaysia. This significant investment will greatly enhance the nation's DC capacity and capabilities. These projects are not only propelling the sector's growth but also positioning Malaysia as a preferred destination for hyperscale DCs. From 2021 to 2026, the Malaysian DC market is projected to grow at an average annual rate of 16%, or USD2.1bn per year We anticipate that the demand for new DC setups in Malaysia will remain robust over the next five years due to the increasing need for sophisticated data infrastructure As if dc growth is straight line and tnb has unlimited surplus supply. not forgetting peninsular have limited green energy supply. QUOTE(SKY 1809 @ Jul 24 2024, 08:52 AM) It will boost up our economy , and may be a small step for Malaysia to move towards n achieving a higher economy class. One thing links to another. BTW, our currency is appreciating bit by bit these days, with more FDI come in. More like USD weakened.

QUOTE(SKY 1809 @ Jul 24 2024, 10:40 AM) 1) Refer to our National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) 2) At least we do not have spend Billions n Billions like Japan to push up its currency. Taiwan raisied its interest rate, but its currency is falling due to outflow of funds. 3) Indonesia is also facing outflow of funds ..maybe Thailand n Vietnam also 4) inflow of funds perhaps is a better medicine for Malaysia.. rm has been devaluating since 1997 and likely to devalue further.

QUOTE(SKY 1809 @ Jul 25 2024, 10:34 AM) I would think yr Malaysia Property Melt Down Forecast/Report ( since Year 2012 ? ) is kinda legacy ..needed to be revised after 10 years. No point to keep on hunting for properties under Lelong or Malls close down ...kinda non stop.... after 10 over years , or go aggresively against those oppose u . For those who failed, worst thing is they want to drag everyone along with them..into their holes ( refer to Multiple Signs of Malaysia Property Bubble V 1-V20 ) The reality remains unchanged, until poorperly overhang is reduced to sustainable level, price will remain suppressed. Poorperly oversupply was known many years ago but uuu/BBB chose to ignore.

But If I want to boycott let say KFC , I think I would limit the actions to myself....and not going around to stop others from comsuming the chickens, more so aggressively. Others too are entitled to their own rights and actions. I was just sharing data available, to save some people from losing money or financial ruin, to collect some good karma.

QUOTE(dogbert_chew @ Aug 11 2024, 01:54 PM) As per the other thread, The Bank value seems to be meaningless. It is neither the market value nor the ori developer selling price. QUOTE(gashout @ Aug 11 2024, 02:00 PM) Bank valuation is something ill never understand. Especially earlier property boom era, I don't even know how a 200k house suddenly becomes 400k. Says who. Says valuator? Not sure what they based on. And different properties condition is different. To put a blanket valuation is too superficial. Bank value is from valuers. Valuers get their numbers from napic transacted value. As auction poorperly is not captured by napic, bank value could be overvalued. Have price no market/transaction is syok sendiri price. QUOTE(pokemon @ Sep 21 2024, 10:27 AM) Datacenters do not need to high thousands of workers to manage. Many will still be jobless with datacenters. QUOTE(pokemon @ Sep 21 2024, 10:57 AM) New centers will create one time job during the contruction. Datacenters can be remotely controlled and managed from overseas. Only few certain function need to be on the site physically. Why datacenters coming to Malesia?ย Because of cheap cheap electricity and water plus land compared to western countries. So it just another indirect dumpsite like Lynas. More CO2 and greenhouse effects from this Bolehland. QUOTE(koja6049 @ Sep 21 2024, 11:13 AM) many ktards don't understand what are data centers. In their mind data centers are packed with IT workers manually moving your internet data around, thereby creating "jobs"ย When in fact data centers are totally devoid of workers. The only jobs data center creates is the initial construction phase, but even those jobs are created for the bangla construction workers, not malaysiansย SKY 1809This post has been edited by icemanfx: Sep 21 2024, 10:35 PM

QUOTE(SKY 1809 @ Oct 15 2024, 05:27 PM) Some people see DC as some kind of Traffic lights ...looks very simple . But , the spillover effects from data centres can be significant and multifaceted... And for AI DC, our U need to get involved ...to produce the right people , do R & D and so on Anyone involved in DC aware; during construction period, except building construction, most others are imported. During operation, only maintenance personnel are needed. In a typical DC, only about 20 people are needed for a 24 hours shift.

QUOTE(soonvee @ Nov 14 2024, 01:39 AM) https://www.mida.gov.my/mida-news/sime-darb...k-in-rm2b-deal/Boss, the data center only 19.8 hectare which equivalent to approx 49 acres. To be frank data center memang generally not creating much job opportunities compare to conventional manufacturing plant. (I expected approx 1k++ only in this case) Some good explanation can be sources from chatgpt as well as following : Given that Googleโs data center in Elmina City, Shah Alam is planned to cover 49 acres, the job opportunities in its operational phase can be quite extensive. Hereโs a tailored breakdown considering the scale, location, and industry standards for a data center of this magnitude:
Estimated Job Opportunities for the 49-Acre Data Center in Elmina City
1. Direct, On-Site Jobs:
IT & Data Center Technicians: 100-180
Network Engineers/System Administrators: 40-60
Facilities Management (Cooling, Power Systems, Electrical Maintenance): 60-100
Security Personnel: 40-60
Administrative & Support Staff: 30-40
Management & Operations Leadership: 20-30
Total Direct Jobs: Approximately 290-470 permanent on-site positions.
2. Indirect Job Opportunities:
Data centers of this scale typically create significant indirect employment through local suppliers, logistics services, external maintenance, and support (e.g., catering, waste management, and transportation). This could generate an additional 500-800 indirect jobs in the surrounding areas, especially as Elmina City continues to develop as a tech and business hub.
3. Construction Phase:
During the construction and setup phase, the project may require around 1,000-1,500 temporary construction jobs, covering engineers, architects, electricians, project managers, and various contractors.
Factors to Consider:
High Automation: Googleโs data centers often utilize advanced automation and AI to optimize efficiency, which may reduce the number of on-site operational staff but increase the need for highly skilled technical personnel.
Focus on Sustainability: As Google is committed to sustainable operations, additional staff may be dedicated to energy management, sustainability initiatives, and compliance with green energy standards.
Local Impact: The data center in Elmina City will likely drive economic growth in the region, supporting Cyberjaya and the greater Kuala Lumpur area as a tech hub. This can indirectly boost job creation in supporting sectors like real estate, retail, and services. Summary
For the 49-acre data center in Elmina City, you can expect around 800-1,200 total job opportunities during its operational phase (including direct and indirect jobs). The facility will be a significant driver of local employment, leveraging Malaysia's skilled workforce and further establishing the region as a key player in the digital economy. 16 to 24 (direct and indirect) jobs per acre over 24 hours shift. Literally 5 to 8 soul per acre per 8 hours shift. This post has been edited by icemanfx: Nov 14 2024, 04:03 AM
