I also kena many times not detected, I realized because I hold it in the air, and it is shaky.
Try hold it in 45 degree, then use the dashboard help to stabilise your smarttag so it wont be shaky

letak smart tag di tengah2 dashboard. should be easily detected. the sensor at the middle top of the lane
