QUOTE(ajay67 @ Mar 9 2007, 09:30 PM) Added on March 9, 2007, 9:57 pm QUOTE(polkiuj @ Mar 9 2007, 07:19 PM) That very right Shiinkuro, its the photographer, not the camera. There is absolutely NOTHING (okok, u can print nicer BIG posters and shoot an additional half a frame per sec) a D40x can do that a D40 can't, so dun feel bad about ur purchase. In fact, feel good that u've saved USD200. Would u want a ~28% more real resolution (which u'll never notice until u start printing posters or billboards) for a whopping RM700 (at our current rate) more? In more fact, there are things u probably can do with a D40 than a D40x. woww.. Sound like so pro ... BTW.. ISO 100 in the D40x has the same noise as ISO 200 in the D40. Hence the reason why there is no ISO 100 in the D40 in the 1st place. Wan an upgrade? 18-200 VR (note: ur 18-55 is already superb). SB-400 for indoor shots of people. Next upgrade? D200. Skip the rest. This post has been edited by bbtat: Mar 9 2007, 09:57 PM |

well.. i feel better (lol) after reading u guys's comment on the d40x.. anyway... i am enjoying nicer shots coapred to my sone cybershot.. lol.
i am thinking of getting the sb400. me just started dslr... the lowest price i can get is rm420. is that cheap also say the kit lens for d80... 18-135mm (i think) going for rm900.. the shop claimed that someone just bought the body.. leaving the kit lens for sale. i asked if i could trade in my d40 kit lens.. and she said..." d40 kit lens can be bought for around rm150 in the internet... u better keep it.." CB betul.... do u guys think it is a good buy for the d80 kit lens? |

bbtat: I'm not. Just read up by my fav pro and i happen to agree with those parts 100%. He's already tried the prototypes. Loved it. But still prefers the D40.
Wifi_One: you're welcome. my suggestion is that u save for a 18-200mm VR. ur 18-55mm is a great lens. dun let the cheap price fool u. and its light and fun. bigger lenses add weight and makes ur weightless d40 not so fun =P 18-135 review D200 enough lo. Lol. D2x too ex and big xD |

18-200 VR is sharp. U'll never see the difference with a 18-135 unless u blow it up real big (print posters) or ur more interested in lab tests than photography. 18-200 has VR. That means hand held great shots all (most of) the time. try that with a 18-135 w/o VR.
P.s. That means u'll never miss another shot due to 'no tripod' or 'can't get clear pic'. =P and 18-200 VR means u'll probably only carry 1 lens everywhere u go for all ur needs. Say goodbye to big bulky 'photographers' bags and ur tripod. u dun need them. Sinister: U R right! So do u wanna pay USD200 for the difference between good and good? =P BTW, D40x prints great 8 foot (yes, thats 8 FOOT) posters. =P With the kit lens!! 18-55mm!! Prices: "It comes as a body-only (about $729) , or kitted with the excellent 18-55mm lens (about $799), or kitted with both the 18-55mm and new 55-200mm VR lenses (about $999)" -kenrockwell.com- That is NOT cheap... >.< This post has been edited by polkiuj: Mar 13 2007, 01:05 AM |

how can anyone say the 18-55 is an excellent lens?
well, if it is rm 200, then it's a good lens. rm 50, then it's excellent |
