Cheaper than D40 for sure

It will eventually become cheaper of course. After few weeks of selling you will see some shops start throwing price around already, those who wanna go get the D40x can start doing they survey today

D40 buyers sure abit boh song one ... they can say "I won't go as low as ISO100" or "I dun need 10MP". Look, for Rm600+ more you can get a 10MP Nikon camera today, or JUMP to Canon ... the EOS 400D with DIGIC II and can use ALL Canon lenses

Fine ... it's Nikon's own way of saying "Oops ... so here's the new model we're talking about and what you guys HOPED to be in the D40 - the all new D40x!!"

I cannot imagine how many stock of D40 she could have had behind the shop

They have to cash in on the noobs, their blood is sweeter and they are the ones most willing to spend spend and spend and if you notice, they are the one taking the slow step up, buying body after body, lens after lens and buying more as they move up the learning curve.

Now that is MONEY to big companies like Nikon! Who cares if some lenses become AF-S or not, I make good money elsewhere!

Seriously, I cannot predict what Nikon does sometimes. I kena hit by the Nikon D70s announcement last time when I was still selling cameras. Customer came back and screw me up telling I 'conned' him into buying the D70 weeks before the D70s came out, worst thing is ... he's got money and dun mind waiting for a better model to come out and he accused me of cheating him.

In the end, I had to dig out 'bad things' about a camera that I have not even seen myself to convince that the D70 was a better buy ... sigh ...

Camera models are designed and conceived months before they finally announce it and I really dun understand why would Nikon push out the 6MP version when the 10MP is well on the way UNLESS there is a major problem with the D40. Still, it won't justify changing the model to 'D40x'. So for those of you who think that 'I dun need 10MP' then you've made your cash worth, use your camera to the max, you've worked hard for it so be the best you can ... after all it's not about Nikon or Canon, it's about photography.

135mm shaky is when it's raining, you went down to 1/20 and there's a model posing all wet 20 feet away from you mah!

Correct ... everyone's holding back until D40x out, then out comes the new stock with the rock bottom price offer

The D40x MIGHT or might NOT replace the D40 but the price of the D40 will drop terribly up the point of no more stock, then the D40x will come, hope that helps.

Even if it's true, the ship is not heading towards Malaysia ... maybe to the 'World's End', Singapore/Australia

You paid hundreds of Ringgit below the D80, D70s, 400D or even the 350D what are you expecting? You mentioned that 10MP doesn't make much of a difference compared to 6MP? Let me tell you what you loose out ... ultimately :

1. 4MP of difference in sharpness and ability to enlarge or crop images.
2. At least 2 AF-point less than the nearest entry level DSLR in the market.
3. The ONLY DSLR with lens usage handicap in the market : No one brand had ever manufactured a camera model like this ever, before this.
4. The AF is very slow ... with a 18-200mm VR lens mounted the camera's focusing mechanism was SEARCHING in a perfectly litted living room full of people just becoz the 3 AF points do not know which is human and which i floor or wall!

Sigh ... dun wanna talk about Singapore jor, sien! You looking at their things and ask about memory card they will ask you what camera you use, ask about lens also they do the same. Adoi ... if I not using Canon camera why I ask about Canon lens ...

This shop lagi funny, I ask about Manfrotto monopod and Lowepro belt, they ask me "What camera you use?"
