However, in response to the military coup and the resulting oppressions in the country, the United States has had sanctions against Thailand since 2014. The sanctions include suspending more than $4.7 million of security-related assistance and cancelling training programs with the military and police.

BREAKING (GRAPHIC): 100+ Dead, 400+ Injured After Chemical Gas Attack In Syria

On Tuesday, initial reports from activists in Syria said that an airstrike that gave off a “poisonous gas” hit the rebel-held city of Idlib, reportedly killing over 100 and injuring hundreds more. The victims are said to include dozens of women and children. The symptoms of those affected reportedly match those that would show with the use of sarin gas.

Activists blame the Syrian regime led by Syrian President Bashar al-Assad who has been accused of using chemical weapons on his own people in the past. International leaders have condemned the attack.

Is it me or is the chassis way too high? Usually tanks have a lower chassis profile, to minimize exposure and make a smaller target profile.
This vehicle seems like they just dropped a high-caliber gun onto an IFV chassis. confused.gif
*
cuz the base vehicle is based from fnss kaplan with several internal changes (front engine now put to the back)
so its not wrong to say the original chassis is from ifv design

QUOTE
The MMWT is based on the FNSS-designed Kaplan infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) chassis, which seems to be the first proper own design; previously the company relied on licence-producing and modifying existing vehicles such as the M113 and the GPV Colonel (known as PARS in Turkey).

Indeed, but is it suited for the medium tank role? It seems to show its chassis wayyy too much. More target for the enemy to aim at.
In contrast, the ZTQ look more like a scaled-down normal MBT and at the same time keeping its parent MBT's advantages of low silhouette.

user posted image

depends, using existing chassis saves way2 more cost than designing a completely new chassis
their first prototype concept does points out towards that "tank-like" profile with low silhouette design and rcws mg

I think it all depends on exactly how they are using this vehicle exactly. A frontline Medium tank? a heavily-armed IFV escort?

The second role you could probably get away with it, seeing most IFVs are also designed in the same mould.

If used in the first role, it would probably stand out too much though. MBTs could get away with it because of the low chassis minimizes exposure and the fact that the exposed turret is the most protected part of the MBT, but IMHO this design would show (unnecessarily) too much chassis for it to work effectively in this role. hmm.gif
*
i think its more like replacing their scorpions and going to places where their leopards mbt cant go?

INNM the MMWT is to replace the AMX-13.

i think they just did a retrofit on the amx13 so its still pretty much in active service even in the near future hmm.gif
not sure about the scorpions though.. so its more like a complement to the armor fleet?

cons- not recommended to fire the cannon sideways..
another inherent design of light/medium tanks
amx13 & scorpion crews are advised to not do this

A400M delivers first humanitarian cargo with Royal Malaysian Air Force

Airbus Foundation facilitated the collaboration between Royal Malaysian Airforce, Spanish Red Cross and Airbus to deliver humanitarian cargo using the A400M

The Royal Malaysian Airforce (RMAF), Airbus and the Spanish Red Cross have worked together to deliver a load of humanitarian goods from Seville, Spain, to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies Asia Pacific Regional Office in Malaysia on Thursday 23 March.

The cargo consisted of mosquito nets, which will be used to prevent malaria outbreaks following future natural disasters in the region. The collaboration has been facilitated by the Airbus Foundation and utilised the delivery flight of the fourth A400M to the RMAF.

"For the Royal Malaysian Air Force humanitarian missions are a key part of our mission and we have invested considerable training and resources to ensure that we are fully able to assist in the event of a natural disaster anywhere in the region," said General Dato' Sri Affendi Buang Chief of RMAF.

"We are delighted that this delivery flight to the Royal Malaysian Air Force has carried a load of humanitarian goods for the Red Cross. This will certainly be the first of many HADR missions, for which this aircraft is designed and ideally suited and we look forward to further support this in the future," added Fernando Alonso, Head of Military Aircraft Airbus Defence and Space.
