RPG-2s... wonder how they fare against Adnans and KIFVs? maybe penetrate but won't kill personnel inside... does happen
adnan & kifv got a basic spaced armour protection so the main blast is away from the vehicle main body so prolly at most it can inflict some degree of injuries but not fatal..

Why last time Malaysia did not get the Scorpene with TOT. With all the ship they buy now is with TOT and assembly in malaysia, at least another shipyard can come up and do it.
actually they did but only on maintenance level which is ady good enough deswai all the major overhauling and repair can be done locally at sepanggar
no need for full TOT.. not like msia can dream to have the level where they can build a submarine locally even if they could, all the electronics and sensors which covers most of the actual cost would still come from foreign sources

Don't know if the Scorpene 1000 offer is still on the table as it was designed for shallow water operations while the latest news reported the submarine is the latest-generation version Scorpene sub capable of shallow and blue water operations.
they could have combined the design from the scorpene 1000 industrial plan study into the conventional scorpene and made a new design?

Maybe the sub is based from the Scorpene 1000 with larger displacement. But by looking at the Scorpene model presented by the French Defence Minster looks like the conventional Scorpene. Photo credit to DCNS.
Yes the plan is for 12 submarines by 2024. The Cakra Class is due to be retired in 2020.
seems to have the x-bow configuration so its more likely a combination of both 1000 and the conventional design
cakra class is essentially the older version of the chang bogo class so maybe they could keep it to train future chang bogo sailors?
