A U.S. Navy helicopter crashed in the Pacific Ocean Thursday while conducting flight operations just 24 miles east off the coast of Guam.

The entire crew, which included two pilots and one air crewman, was safely recovered by USS Dewey after their MH-60R Sea Hawk helicopter went down.

The crew did not sustain any serious injuries in the crash.

It is not immediately clear what caused the helicopter to crash. There is an investigation underway.

An Army aviation model Mi-17 helicopter suffered an accident while carrying out a humanitarian aid flight to Choco, Yamango district, Morropón, in the Piura mountain range.

As a result of the accident, seven people were injured. This was announced by the Joint Command of the Armed Forces, which reported that the 4 crew members and the 3 passengers on board were injured.

The accident was registered at 10 a.m. It is counted among the wounded the greatest EP Luis Pinto Charly, who was in command of the ship. The wounded were evacuated to a private clinic and military hospital of the Army.

A military plane has crashed in Cuba reportedly killing everyone on board.

The Antonov An-26 aircraft owned by Cuban airline AeroGaviota came down near the western province of Pinar Del Rio just 50 miles from the capital Havana.

The area where the plane came down is known as Las Lomas de San Cristóbal that is 'difficult to access by land'.

Reports suggest that eight people on board died in the crash.

The turboprop plane is thought to have taken off from the country's Baracoa Airport which regularly offers domestic flights.

The Cuban News Agency reported: 'The eight military personnel on board, including the crew, died.

'A commission of the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces is investigating the causes of the accident.'

Three soldiers died while another was seriously injured when an Air Force chopper crashed in Tanay, Rizal on Thursday afternoon, the military confirmed.

Speaking on ANC, Col. Antonio Francisco, the spokesperson of the Philippine Air Force, said that a military helicopter crashed in Sitio Hiltop in Tanay, Rizal around 3 p.m., killing two soldiers and injuring two other military personnel.  The number of personnel killed was updated to three on Thursday evening.

“As of now, what I can give you is it happened at around 3 o’clock this afternoon in Sitio Hiltop in Tanay. We are still trying to confirm those who are injured in the incident,” Franciso said. “There were two soldiers who are in very serious situation right now. That is all we know right now.”

The spokesperson said that the chopper was carrying two military pilots and two crew members. He did not clarify who among the four were killed and who were injured pending the notification of their families about the incident.

Franciso said that the PAF chopper was maneuvering during air-to-ground operations being conducted together with soldiers from the Philippine Army when it crashed. These exercises were part of the disaster relief preparations being conducted by the Army 2nd Infantry Division together with some police personnel from CALABARZON, according to a DZMM report.

The spokesperson clarified that based on initial reports, no risky maneuvers were involved when the aircraft went down.

The chopper experienced trouble during the practical exercise that led to the accident, a DZMM reporter said.

Francisco said that the helicopter came from Camp Capinpin in Tanay, Rizal and crashed in a village just several minutes away from the military base.

Because of the incident, all Air Force aircraft and choppers will be barred from flying pending the results of an investigation.

A Pakistan Air Force (PAF) training jet crashed in the wee hours of Tuesday morning near Jhang, Express News reported.

The Mirage was on routine training when it crashed in the Athara Hazari area.

The pilot safely ejected the aircraft when it was about to crash, said a PAF spokesperson. No loss of life was reported.

Eight people died Monday when a military aircraft crashed into a hill in central Colombia, President Juan Manuel Santos said.

An Iraqi air force helicopter has been downed west of Mosul Saturday afternoon after coming under fire from the Islamic State group, according to Iraq's joint operations command.

The helicopter was hit while supporting Iraq's mostly Shiite militia forces in an operation to retake villages still held by the militants in the sprawling desert to Mosul's west, Brig. Gen. Yahya Rasool, the command's spokesman, said in a statement.

The source of the attack was ground fire, the pilot landed safely and there were no fatalities, he added.

A LR-2 reconnaissance aircraft from the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) has crashed on the Hokkaido Island with 10 people suspected on board, local media reported Monday.

TOKYO (Sputnik) — The aircraft’s debris were found near the dam in Assabu, a town in the island’s southern region. The plane was flying to the nearby city of Hadodate from the island's Okadama airport in Sapporo with an ambulance patient before disappearing from the radars, the NHK broadcaster reported.

According to the broadcaster, the LR-2 aircraft is a turboprop plane with a crew of 10 people used for emergency transportation of patients as well as for the aerial observation and reconnaissance.

JAKARTA: Four Indonesian soldiers were killed and 8 wounded on Wednesday after they were hit by artillery fire during a rapid response training exercise in the Natuna islands north of Borneo in the South China Sea, a military spokesman said.

"The army leadership has conveyed its deepest condolences after the death of four excellent soldiers in an accidental incident in Natuna," said spokesman Denny Tuejeh.

The Indonesian army had launched an investigation to examine how the anti-aircraft weapons system had fired upon the group of soldiers during the exercise.

The wounded personnel had been evacuated and were being treated at a nearby hospital, he said.

Yemen’s revolutionary forces shot down an F-15 fighter jet taking part in the bombing campaign of Saudi-led coalition against Yemen.

Yemen’s Arabic-language al-Masirah television network quoted a local military source as saying that the Air Defense Force in the Yemeni army, backed by allied fighters from Popular Committees, shot down an F-15 warplane of the Saudi-led aggression.

The source said that the warplane was shot down in Saudi’s Najran after being targeted by Yemeni forces positioned in the northern town of Saada.

An Indian fighter jet has gone missing near the India-China border after taking off from an air force base in northeastern India, according to an Indian Air Force official.

The Sukhoi SU-30 aircraft had taken off on a routine training mission when radar and radio contact was lost roughly 60 kilometers north of an air force base in Tezpur, the official said, declining to be named. Contact has yet to be established with the aircraft, this person said.

Amman, May 22 (Petra) -- At least three Algerian soldiers were killed after their military helicopter crashed Sunday overnight in the province of Tipaza, west of the capital of Algiers, according to the state run- news agency.

The Algerian Defense Ministry said in a statement that a navy helicopter crashed at a farm in Hamr el Ain during a reconnaissance mission, the agency said.

The aircraft lost control after hitting a high voltage electric post, causing the death of the plane's crew, the statement added.

A Chinese-made Pakistan Air Force (PAF) jet today crashed near a town in the Punjab province while on a routine training mission due to a technical fault.   

The pilot ejected safely while the plane went down near Mianwali, a small town in southern region of Punjab province.   

"PAF reports with regret that a PAF F-7PG aircraft, while on a routine operational training mission, crashed near Mianwali.

The pilot of the aircraft ejected safely," a PAF statement said.   

No loss of life and property has been reported in the crash, the PAF said.   

A board of inquiry has been ordered to determine the cause of the accident.

A Navy Seal team member died Sunday after his parachute failed to open during a Fleet Week demonstration over the Hudson River.

The accident occurred a few minutes after noon near Liberty State Park, a large New Jersey park where thousands of people a year catch ferries to the nearby Statue of Liberty.

The parachutist, whose identity was not immediately released, was a member of an elite Navy parachute team called the Leap Frogs, a Navy spokesman said. The cause of the parachute malfunction was under investigation.

In a release, the Navy said the parachutist was rescued immediately from the water by US Coast Guard personnel who were standing by in vessels to support the aerial demonstration that featured a coordinated parachute jump.

Local fire department personnel who were also on standby responded as well. The Navy said the parachutist was pronounced dead at Jersey City Medical Center at 1.10 pm.

The Navy said the identity of the victim would be released after family notifications were completed.

“Our hearts and prayers go out to his family, and I ask for all of your prayers for the Navy SEAL community who lost a true patriot today,” said Rear Adm. Jack Scorby, commander of the Navy Region Mid-Atlantic.

More than 100 men were killed after a medium size medium range transport aircraft Shaanxi Y-8produced by Shaanxi Aircraft Corporation  crashed in Myanmar.

A Myanmar air force Shaanxi Y8F200W (number 5820) went missing at 1.35pm local time (7:05am UK time) as it flew from Myeik to Yangon, the country’s army said. An anonymous airport source said 105 people and 11 crew were on board at the time. Some source reported that on board were 102 people and 6 crew.

The Shaanxi Y-8 is a medium-size, medium-range transport aircraft designed and manufactured by China’s Shaanxi Aircraft Company.

A Bulgarian military helicopter crashed into the Black Sea off the Bulgarian coast during tactical drills on Friday, killing one officer and injuring two others, the defense ministry said.

The helicopter, an AS 565MB Panther, crashed after carrying out a maneuver following artillery shooting drills, the ministry said in a statement, adding that the reasons for the crash are being investigated.

The helicopter's commander died later in hospital, while the other two officers on board were in a stable condition, the ministry said.

A Turkish military helicopter crashed Wednesday near Turkey’s border with Iraq, killing all 13 personnel on board, the military said.

The crash occurred in the border province of Sirnak, where Turkish troops are engaged in operations against Kurdish militants. But a military statement said the crash appeared to be accidental, with initial information indicating that the AS 532 Cougar had hit a high-voltage transmission line shortly after taking off from a base in Sirnak’s Senoba region.

A Romanian Air Force MiG-21 crashed in Constanta County on June 12 during manoeuvres being held as part of the Thracian Eagle 2017 exercise with counterparts from Bulgaria, media in Bucharest said, quoting the Romanian defence ministry.

The pilot, Lieutenant-Commander Adrian Stancu, ejected and parachuted. After being given first aid, he was taken to hospital where he was reported to be in stable condition.

The crash happened after the MiG-21 Lancer had been in flight for more than an hour. As Stancu was carrying out landing manoeuvres, he reported that the fighter was undergoing major engine failure and he ejected.

The aircraft crashed outside inhabited areas.

The crash is being investigated by Romanian military prosecutors. There will be a formal commission of inquiry, to be appointed by the chief of the Romanian Air Force staff.

In a matter of days, the U.S. Navy has lost two sailors to overboard incidents.

The search for both sailors has been terminated after exhaustive searches, respectively, of thousands of square miles failed to turn up any evidence as to their whereabouts.
