Dell XPS would be your right choice biggrin.gif

Please please please take on-site service as consideration.
And dont forget to extend your warranty to 3 years.

Theres only one thing bout laptop tat i noe, which is da screen, the most important part of da laptop.

Why buy branded laptops instead of cheap acer or dell? Its all because of the lcd screen.Ignore the specs...amd ...solo or duo core...its just da same for the naked eye. If ur using it to do hardcore programs like DVD editing,3D modeling...then u really need 2 look at the specs..other than tat...jus ignore da specs...look at da price n da brand.

(Gaming ? LOL...light gaming is always supported in any laptop...buy hardcore games n stuff...simple...the more expensive da better...ask for da latest GPU n stuff.)

Oh yah...wat bout da LCD screen. Ive been readin alot of threads in tis forum...guess wat? alot of COMPAQ users complain bout their screen facing cracks n stuff...n do u noe how much is da cheapest to repair it? around RM800 - 1000.

so...buy branded laptops...eventhough they r overpriced...there is a reason...quality...look at the weight u'll understand.y is it heavier?y is it lighter?
hav u guys ever thought of tis b4?wiring...casing...third party materials...
u wanna buy a compaq tat the lcd will break in a year time?spending 1k 2 fix it?tats 2pid...

conclusion....toshiba r cheap nowadays...get a toshiba...L100 or sumthin...u will never c the differents btween a solo or a duo core...even a core 2 duo.everythin is da same....maketing plan makes it different.....even wif a core duo da game fps rating is da same wif the core 2 duo....2 find out da differents...u need a very gud GPU...or not its useless...

toshiba-fujitsu-sony =))

Just some comment on my newly bought laptop... Toshiba is the good 1 for price n quality .... Satellite A100 series... all come with good display n specs.... go for Toshiba if u planning to buy a laptop... spend around RM 5000++ u can get a 15'4 display wif C2D proc de.... good for gaming as well since a build in ATi graphic card....

*thumbs up* for Toshiba...

Hi, need suggestions 2 buy a new laptop. last time used ASUS notebook which is now about 5 years old, got A LOT of problem with it, like battery spoiled, easily overheat, screen opener broken, power switch broken n so on...

1) budget: below RM2500

2) specifications: Intel Core 2 Duo(preferably AMD), 512Mb RAM, 80GB hardisk...

3) Mostly going to use it in campus since i'm still a student.

4) Use it for typing, programming, watching movies, surfing internet...

please recommend some laptops, hopefully can get student price.

Thanks....
