QUOTE(ckkoh @ Feb 11 2006, 08:31 PM) Can i know is there any laptop below 3k come with centrino n 14inch LCD.. i know hyundai got 1 but i dun wan it.. still got any other choice? if i buy laptop with 40GB n 256Mb RAM only, can i upgrade it myself after i buy it? By the way, can i know wat the different between Pentium M and AMD Turion? below 1k is quite hard to find for centrino unless u dun mind getting a less known brand - but try checking compaq M series if they still hav it. yes of coz u can upgrade it, but still hav to check whether it will void warranty or not. coz like acer, they tend to put warranty sticker at the ram panel to hinder you from opening it urself. If u get centrino, its a 32bit but with a much higher L2 cache, Turion however, supports 64bit but hav a lower L2 cache and consumes a lil more of batt power. correct me if i'm wrong though.

Hi everyone, I'm looking for a laptop with x1600 ATi Radeon under RM5000, is there such a model out there? Or is there any newer models that will out perform the X700 ATi Radeon under the same price? It would be best if it is duo core, but i know that would be very expensive. I looked at Acer 5672, but i read many reviews saying that X1400 ATi Radeon that comes with it sucks. Any advice? Thanks in advance...

Sorry to post again, with reference to my previous post, I found this model Dell Inspiron 9400 series in the Singapore website with the following specs: Intel Duo Core Centrino (T2300) 1.66Ghz 512 Mb DDR2 Ram 80GB Ultra ATA HDD 8x DVD +/- RW Combo drive 256MB Nvidia Geforce Go 7800
this model is going at 2300 SGD. Considering the exchange rate to be 2.3 it would be roughly RM5300.
Can this model be found anywhere in Malaysia? I check the dell website in Malaysia but it doesn't come with the Geforce Go 7800.

i think u should wait for the upcoming pc fair lor if u dun need it urgently...if u are buring laptop i suggest u make sure the laptop has at least 1GB of RAM....cause RAM is very important if u are multitasking between programs...even though u onli do college work or normal word processing...the extra RAM really helps a lot if u are running p2p clients and msn on ur taskbar....dell has some good deals but i suggest waiting till the upcoming pc fair to see the "real life" model of the dell notebooks before deciding to buy other brands...because dell is quite cheap compare to other laptop wif the same spec
