Anybody here using AMD-based laptops ? The Athlon XP-M ones. I saw that Twinhead have got some interesting deals with AMD-based laptops. As low as RM2999.00 for their Athlon XP-M 1600+.

How's those AMD-based laptops in terms of battery life & feature set ?

Acer is always a good buy because the spec is a killer for such a price. Anyway, Dell is catching up.

You can always go to www.dell.com.my for the specification. I think you can add bluetooth. Probably no infra red. Anyway, just go to the web site. You can add and configure stuff there.

Centrino = Pentium M + Wireless + Low Power

Best bang for the buck is always Acer. tongue.gif

here's the deal.. im looking for a laptop with these features..

at least a p4 2.4 / 1.6 centrino
ati graphics 9700/9600
512 Ram

those are the main things.. my budget is 5K.. i found a few that met that requirements.. the problem is, the brand.. which of this do u guys think is ok?

- Benq joybook 7000 - with 1.6 centrino, 512 ram, dvd writer, ati 9700 for rm 6000

- Acer (not sure what series) - with 1.6 centrino, 256 ram, combo drive, ati 9700 - for rm 4988

this are the only two laptops with ati9700, which is my primary concern, since im using it for gaming purposes mostly tongue.gif

should i go for benq or acer? i know that these two used to be in the same company. Or should i go for fujitsu or toshiba which is undoubtly has the best quality laptops but at an overcharging price?

please help me.. i want to play WoW as soon as possible.. rugi xp wooo..

i am looking for a laptop right now and i've set my budget somewhere around 5-6k..i am looking for toshiba or fujitsu..however the specs somehow do not meet my requirements..i am a gamer and i am looking for ATI..for fujitsu(most of the models are ATI IGP) which is a shared graphics..is it powerful enough??urm the one with ATI for fujitsu is with AMD processor..for toshiba(all the models are with Nvidia GeForce 5200)..i heard that it is not that good anyway(graphics card)......can anyone give me advice..or should i switch to dell instead..since they have ATI 9600...and its quite cheap...i've seen the acer..i forgot the model...the price is around RM4988...is that good??can anyone recommend me a toshiba or fujitsu model that could actually meet my requirements...thanks dude

sure u can get a toshiba with p4 and with ati 9700.. but the price is around >10k.. i've called them about the price.. i was shocked to hear the price he told me blink.gif

even the fujitsu is around 8k i think, the one with ati9700.. anyways, dont go for dell.. ive experienced dell b4, the bat was dead, and i think something was wrong with the HD.. yes i could buy a new one, but it had to be a DELL product, and its damn expensive.. i ask for any other option.. he said i could recycle it for another dell laptop.. so i thought they were going to take my laptop in for some cash or rebate, but it turns out to be, they were taking my laptop for free.... shakehead.gif

so all in all.. this is what i found out.. coz im looking for a laptop for gaming too..
1. don't get DELL laptops, sure its cheap, but its after service...
2. get toshiba or fujitsu if you are really on a big budget, coz they are overcharging thier customers.. hey they are the best laptops retailers..
3. get acer or benq, im not sure about these two, in terms of realibility and quality.. but the specs are good.

still doing some research on acer and benq, looking for customer complaints or anything like that.. hope i had more budget so that i can get toshiba!! drool.gif
