if not heavy programming, the centrino ok... but it's better to stick to a P4 for programming. or just wait for Dothan to arrive on our shores, and see some benchies. just my 2cents. |

lol...
i said combo drive, not cdrw drive. the initial drive that is on the laptop is a dvd-rom as u know it. but the drive bay for the dvd rom is a multibay swapable for other devices such as HD, floopy or battery. yeah the idea is sorta of like that, if u want to use the other device u can take it out and slot in the desired device. and it's not a external drive la, since u slot into the drive bay how can it become a external drive spec wise and price i've got no comment, user preferences ler. if you are interested why not go to laptop shops and have a look/try yourself? then u can do a better judgement. all i can say is that price range is appropiate to the specs. |

well...how bout 8003Lci it comes wif xp pro and also a 128MB Mob raddy 9700. or the ferarri 3200 which coes with the AMD 64Bit mobile processor and also 128MB Mob raddy 9700. but it's at a great price too roughly rm7.5K++ toshiba m30-731? well... specwise is ok, comes with NVIDIA GeForce FX Go 5200 64MB VRAM, Xp Pro and 60GB. if u r interested in the compaq presario x1316 and the nx7010 i think u have to stick with nx7010 coz presario x1316 is only windows XP home. both comes with a 64MB mob raddy 9200. but presario x1316 comes with a DVD/R+W while nx7010 is only a combo drive. cheers. just my 2cents This post has been edited by 8431: Jul 5 2004, 01:21 PM |

Acer, last time did heard they were not that good, but now i think time have changed, so they did too(i mean improved). The same goes for compaq, also got consumer says not good la...bla bla bla. hahaa, user preferences.
for the 8003Lci, it's like the king of the hill now for a Centrino based Laptop available in malaysia. if u do alot of Graphic/animation/3d rendering, i think u will need the 128MB mob raddy 9700. if just for gaming, mebbe can settle down with a 64MB mob raddy 9700 or 9600. video editin? i think u need more RAM instead.... well, y not go and ask the sales at laptop shops there directly, i'm sure they would be more than glad to help. cheers. just my 2cents. uhmm...there is a newer ferarri... it's 3200, AMD64 and mob raddy 9700 128MB
btw, just visited dell's website and did the roughly same config/specs with Acer 8003Lci.... the price for Inspiron is roughly rm7.1k(tho now got free upgrade to 1GB of memory), while 8003Lci is roughly rm7.6K(with 512MB memory only). but since inspiron 9100 it's a desktop replacement...h3h3, so bulky and heavy plus the battery life so the choice is on they buyer's hand...
