QUOTE(howszat @ May 31 2017, 11:33 PM)
Fair point. But I have some questions:

The currency of a particular country goes up and down, depending on economic fundamentals. So for eg, if a country's export goes up because they are in demand, eg rubber, palm oil are in demand, exports are more than imports, the country is doing well.

If the economy is doing well, stocks in general will do well because they are making more profits. Hence, the stock price goes up.

Can I ask, what are the fundamentals that supports the price of Bitcoin going up?
*
Interesting. I have always wondered why we are at where we are now.

Let me ask you this. Why is gold prices going up? Or if you want to take precious diamonds also acceptable.

Anyway, I need to sleep. Reply you tomorrow.

Gold does not provide any inherent value, so it's contribution to this thread is nothing but speculative.

For starters, you are wrong about gold prices going up, anyone paying attention would have been aware of gold prices going on a roller coaster.
*
Ahhhh... and I thought we want to have some intelligent discussion. So you're saying gold has no inherent value and only for speculation? Scam too right? For your information, gold reserve in this world is 170,000,000 kg with an estimated value in trillions. And that's only talking about gold. I guess you will cry scam for a lot of things...... that would be a bitter life to live......

Makes me think of a guy running into an art auction house screaming "SCAM" because a painting was sold for 50 million. Good, I don't have to waste time with you.

No need to feed the troll. Same question being asked in /K. Maybe the reason to ask same questions here will increase his post count.

China market going to open in couple of hours for ETH. Going to be fun day. I was monitoring Polo for good 8 hours since 12am. It still stuck around 0.101 - 0.098

The first think that popped into my mind is "Life must be hard on him." Really pity.

Yeah, not feeding anymore. dry.gif

Don't play margin!!!

Just curious, are you profiting from playing margin? To me, unless one is an expert or extremely lucky, the chances to win most of the time would be very slim.

Waw! Look at Nexium. And I sold half of Nexium to fund other coins. cry.gif

Scam! Scam!!! Sorry.... biggrin.gif

Looks like they used Deloitte which is part of r3 consortium. It seems R3 and Ripple previously were working together for bank payments and they actually complement each other. Not too sure the impact on ripple though. hmm.gif

If you're interested only on XRP, skip to 42:10

Summary :
1) XRP 100 billion created. Ripple has 20 billion on-hand, to sell to financial institutions and market makers. 50 billion locked up and release incrementally, gives certainty to the market. 30 billion in the market for people to buy.
2) For banks to use XRP:
- They don't have to hold, they can buy from local exchanges that list XRP (against local currency). Local exchanges are crucial in the providing lots of liquidity. Ripple in process of creating XRP liquidity partnerships, to list XRP and provide liquidity into local currencies.
- Can also can opt to buy XRP and hold it in their account, to be used for cross-border payments

Also remember that XRP is burnt at each transaction although somebody estimates 240 years before XRP runs out: https://www.reddit.com/r/Ripple/comments/5b...ction_fees_are/

Destruction of XRP is not that much per transaction though : https://ripple.com/build/transaction-cost/

I'm not too sure what this does to the price of XRP but as the company wants to clear uncertainties on XRP and as demand increase, it is only natural that the price will increase too. My 0.00002 XRP opinion only. wink.gif

maker = 0.15%
taker = 0.25%

whos the maker and whos d taker in this case?
*
Both parties pay for a transaction. If you sell to the nearest bid, you pay 0.25% of the fee while the buyer pays 0.15%.

If you asked for a price and the price matches, you pay 0.15% of the fees and the seller pays 0.25%.

Guys that own a Ledger Nano S.

I do know that it supports coins like BTC, ETH/ETC, LTC, XRP etc though i remembered reading an article online saying that we couldn't store too many types of coins right ?

Was asking I've just stored my BTCs into my Ledger Nano S and am planning to store some ETC but was worried to transfer it from POLO and having it stuck on the network.
Hence, whats the maximum number of crypto's that we could store in our Ledger Nano S wallet ?

Thanks
*
You can store millions if you want to. The worry is that if something happens to the ledger and you can't recover it for some reason, then your coins are all gone. Ledger only holds your private keys. It doesn't hold any coins.

Here's a list of coin it supports including using MyEtherWallet to support ERC20 coins : http://support.ledgerwallet.com/knowledge_...-s-and-the-blue

Personally for me, I would not keep everything in one wallet if your funds are big. Better to have 2 or even 3 hardware wallets.

Thanks for your reply.

Before that, do i need to transfer the GNT from poloniex to myetherwallet first before transfering to Ledger?

Is it safe to transfer crypto from exchanges and store in pc or normal usb instead of hardware wallet?
*
Forumers have given you the answer on GNT on Myetherwallet. Here's another link for reference : http://neocashradio.com/blog/storing-ether...ardware-wallet/

MyEtherWallet have the option to interact directly with ledger. Read the link above which also has another link on how to interact ERC20 tokens with ledger.

Simplest summary - Connect ledger, start MyEtherWallet, choose "Ledger nano S" inside Myetherwallet, get ETH address in Myetherwallet, send GNT to the ether address.

Remember that only ERC20 coins can be sent to ETH address as ERC20 tokens are based/generated on ETH platform.

yes but you still need a PC to connect the hardware wallet and I prefer using a PC that is free from malware. Who knows what 0 Day malware resides on Windows PCs nowadays.
*
As far as I know, your private keys in hardware wallets can't be extracted by malware. You can plug the hardware wallet into any rat-infested, virus-infected, alien-hiberating, malware-containing computer and you're still safe. biggrin.gif
