No, 2006 is 2nd or 3rd year for 1st batch. Mine came out in December 2004/Jan 2005 (based on my car reg card)

Sorry to hear that butthead76. original fan motor normally not so fast but maybe bad luck. Hope no permanent damage to your car. I thought if original, a warranty is given? I don't know mine is original or not but can't remember changing it for as long as I have owned it (since 2011 3rd hand)

Hmm, good suggestion there. Let me monitor my usage before thinking of the O2 sensor.

What I normally try to do if I remember is to switch off the cooling and let just the fan blow until not cold anymore. Normally I will do this one or 2 roads before reaching destination. This one I read will help to dry out the coils / less mold build up due to condensation. In this, I hope that the coils last longer.

Some split unit air conditioner also has this function (e.g. Daikin)

Can you describe further how does the jerking and shaking happen? (i.e. during idling/traffic light, or as building up speeds?)
If you kept it in just one gear, e.g. 1st gear, does the problem still happen?
The last time I had something like this happening to me was at a certain RPM and the cause was the VVTI actuator.
In technical terms, the mechanic explained to me at high RPM when the VVTI advanced, a rubber piece broke and this does not allow the VVTI actuator to retard when the loud pedal was lifted off.
In this sense, when I were to take off from a traffic light, my car would be at the wrong timing and would be spluttering along the way and gets smoother as RPM builds up. Once the car shifts from 1st gear to 2nd gear, the RPM drops and I start to splutter again until RPM builds up.
If yours is the same like mine, try to get the mechanic to look at the VVTI actuator to see if any rubber piece has broken off or got stuck there.

Hmm so far the number of year I had my 3rd hand Avanza 2011 till now, I have only replaced once the bearings...all the ends at different times but still only once if my memory does not fail me. If I remember correctly from an article a few years back, the 1.5 avanza was supposed to run 500 rpm lower compared to a 1.3 auto for the same speed. For example if 1.5 is doing 4k RPM at 100km/h, then 1.3 auto will be doing 4.5k RPM at the same speed. However, in your case, you may have the power but then you might not be enjoying fuel savings as it is still tied to a 1.3 gearbox...worst might even increase your fuel consumption.

if you are not well versed with a car workings, suggest to bring along your own trusted mechanic.

Another point to note is though we take care of the usual scheduled maintenance, if a car is constantly overloaded, something has got to give. If one is using the same mechanic, maybe he can try another mechanic for advice and also to see if there is a different way of doing things helps lengthen the lifespan of the wheel bearings

Back in 2007 I think only 1.3 manual/auto and 1.5 auto wass released hence should be a 1.3 manual gearbox, Can someone driving a similar stock manual 2007 avanza 1.3 manual comment at the speed they are doing for the rpm? Let's say 3000 RPM in 1st gear what is the km/h reading, 2nd gear km/h reading all the way till 5th gear km/h reading. This will help apizoHAFEEZ for his baseline when doing the runs.

I think apart from fabric, others will definitely be too hot to sit on...unless he cools down the interior before going in. Others I think will panggang belakang.

I think fabric is harder to maintain compared to leather because leather is just wipe and also less dusty when one sits on it. I am having a hard time with my dark fabric (2004/05 model) too and I can't seem to get it cleaned properly. Tried febreeze, foam cleaner, vinegar etc but non seems to be a long term solution. Not sure why

I think if we were to drive sensibly, we should be able to avoid losing control no matter if the car is FWD,RWD, AWD,4WD. That said, I like it being RWD reason being if we are accelerating uphill, the rear driving wheels will support all the load transfer but what I don't like about it being a RWD is during rainy season, if you are on a slope stopping to pickup a parking ticket to enter a parking lot and the rear wheel sits on those iron/metal grates, mine tend to spin because it is not getting any traction and I have to let it backup a bit.
