But they won't open up starter. If real problem then they will change entire unit.

I finally bite the bullet and went to another electrician to have a look at my avanza starting issue. Sometimes can start, sometimes hard to start and is getting harder each time until after start don't want to turn off the key for fearing cannot start back again. You know the feeling when you are in an RnR to lighten yourself then as you wanted to continue your journey, the starter won't fire up the engine.

Went to this Keong Fatt Electrical location 3.083238, 101.678717 contact 016-6686049 They moved here more than a year ago from their old place. Young chap tested with battery tester, and starting starting the car, sometimes can sometimes cannot. Then brought out another dunno what device (smaller one) and starting starting again with same results. Finally they said your battery not enough charge and they finally brought out another battery to confirm. All three times they tried to start was successful with additional battery attached thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif . I asked their battery price but it was beyond my budget so I paid the young chap a token and went to get a battery elsewhere.

Now get peace of mind rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif

I asked the young chap this not car too old (mine is 2004/05) and wiring need to check/replace. He confidently say you see we already managed to start successfully everytime without fail with another battery. I like his confidence. biggrin.gif

During MCO period, I did recharge this battery and the charging is quick, less than 10 minutes charging full and stopped. Perhaps it is really time for the battery to say goodbye...

I assume if the a car's electrical is ok, I think a week or two without starting should be fine right. I mean, we have people travelling and parking their vehicles at long term airport parking.

Aiya that day go DIY change oil and filter, forgot to buy the crush washer, now everyday got 2 or 3 drips on the floor. Scared to overtighten and strip the threads on the oil pan.

another thing u should take note on is the power.
note that Aruz is almost 300 kg heavier than avanza, but the engine and transmission is pretty much the same, hence the power output also same.
im sure u can check online review of the Aruz being pretty underpower even if it's one person on the car.
empty laden Aruz = fully loaded Avanza.
so u can imagine the power when the Aruz is fully loaded.
But one thing for certain that Aruz is better than the Avanza is the ASA safety feature, for me that's the deciding factor if u can bear with the low power output of the Aruz.
*
Does the enhanced weight of the Aruz help to smoothen the ride in the 3rd row from being very bumpy/bouncy in the 1st gen to magic carpet ride?

how to be advanced country....hahahah....anyway they ship out at 8pm, reach me 12noon just now. Part looks good, got part number etch onto the side. Those OEM one no part number on it.

Tight fit as the O ring is new. Once u screw in it will fit nicely. Once start engine, engine kept revving up and down at around 2000rpm. Like got a virtual leg revving. Hahhaha. Wah I was worried. Then decide to drive around for awhile but still very high rev. So then I park and turn off engine.

Then I switch on without cranking engine. After about 10 seconds only I crank. Then engine rev between 750 to 1000rpm as I turn on AC and lights. Turn off lights, just AC on, engine up and down between 750 to 1000. Nice. Hopefully will solve it.

also just passed chinese 14th day of 7th month shocking.gif hope the idle will steady soon. 1.3 or 1.5 ya your avanza?

Ya, but after change the sensor, the workshop tune slightly higher because the bos told me old car need idle with higher rpm
*
why need to idle higher? Won't that cause unnecessary fuel consumption? hmm.gif

i know i can get faster answers from fb avanza groups, however i still wanna ask my questions here:

i think my rear absorbers are gone case. with two pax sitting at last row, going over a hump without slowing down like a lowered ride will end up a full vertical shock. any affordable yet quality absorbers to recommend?
*
This question very subjective.

What I can suggest is go for a ride with other members when there are gatherings. Then you can feel for yourself different types of absorber. Better than asking recommendations over here because of so many variables
1) is the car fully loaded or just with driver
2) what kind of roads will the absorber be used on.
3) how does the driver drive etc etc

I already got it yesterday and tested, it works. But hard to set it up initially as usual china manual is crap.

This is the steps after you download the app:-

1) setup account name etc and car details if u using for several cars
2) start engine, plug it in. It will update the firmware.
3) after update, turn off engine unplug, turn off app. redo it all again. it will detect now.
4) vehicle detect, will keep on running. let it run for like 1-2mins, then turn off engine. the data will appear showing what scan done. if got problem it will show an error on that item.

This what I bought. See the review, u can see my snap shot of the vehicle detection scan read out.

Morning start car then suddenly autolock doors. No idea what's wrong. Went to workshop use their scanner to check found Crank Shaft sensor and Immobiliser error code. Crank shaft sensor cleared. But immobiliser still there.

Anyone encounter this immobiliser error? Also, seems cheap scanner not working well...hahahah...his scanner rm8k....fuyoh...anyway he do foc for me cause usual customer. hahahah...
*
Can your own new scanner remove both codes also? Anyway what are the codes thrown out? just sibuk sibuk only

Change out my remote control battery CR2025, original is panasonic made in indonesia. Replaced with Maxwell made in japan. I checked old batt 3.3V, new batt 3.5V. Then I check spare remote control 3.5V. hmm, how is this even possible. 10yrs only dropped 0.2V? Anyway, cheap only better replace better then get stuck.
*
Throughout my years owning Avanza 2011 till now, I cannot ever remember changing the remote battery until very recently (speak about longevity). Anyhow, I need to look for the rubber boot of the remote because mine already broke through. Also one of the switches broke off so had to hold it in place while putting instant supa glue to fix it but since it is a spare, I am in no hurry to replace the rubber boot. Can't say longevity for those with keyless entry as in my aftermarket one. I think in 3-6 months will have to replace the CR2032 battery as the car always try to detect the presence of the key fob consuming extra battery.

your 1st gen avanza? how to know car system detect the key fob or not?
*
1st gen avanza ya standard alarm.

maybe i confused you. I meant for other aftermarket alarms with keyless entry, when it car senses the key fob is near, it will unlock. when the owner walks away from the car, the key fob is not detected by the car hence auto lock.

could be...and sometimes longevity could be because we rotate our remote just like how we rotate our car tyres for even wear

I found out when your autolock lock itself when u start engine or when you lock car from outside, signal light no blink or when u outside open lock the autolock open and self lock again.....this all indicating weak battery, nearly cannot start yesterday.

This CMCO killing my battery. Anyone using battery charger? Saw shopee intelligent type going for rm44. Seems ok.
*
I am using one. It's a life saver in times like this. Forgotten how much I bought it for though.

According to my Avanza wheel alignment screenshot whereby Camber +0° 30' is preferred by Toyota .

Add:
[attachmentid=10751432]

Do any of you having not so smooth/steady steering wheel movement during taking right turn of left turn corners after completing wheel alignment jobs or when new ?

I felt steering wheel not smooth and not steady even though alignment Camber angles are within specification and green coloured . Any similar experience from Avanza drivers here ?
*
take it back to the shop you did the alignment and tell/show them your problem and let them fix it.

It is time to change my 2004 avanza rear absorbers. noticed they started going into spring action after going through bumps or emergency stops. now to dig back some previous links on where to find that RS Ultra....or maybe get my worn shocks refilled?
