Hi Bro, how is this 555 stabilizer link compare to the Toyota original ? Need to change mine also.

Anyone ever change front disc rotor ? Can't find Toyota original on Shopee. Only got TRW, which is quite cheap compare to ori.
Mind comment. TQ
*
hi why u need to change the rotor?
if yr rotor had some warped, u can try skim it first.

Last time i used Bendix brake pads. I think too powerful scratch the rotor. According to Toyota SC, skimming wont help
*
oh, then what happen to your disc rotor now,?
when braking keep vibrating?

Hi all,

Can I install KYB rs ultra absober for 2nd gen Avanza F652?
I confused by the spare part shop said to me there are no absorber yet for that model.
Thank you.
*
i search around the web also seems like rs ultra only for first gen model. im cannot be sure whether first gen shock can install to second gen or not.
me and butthead had change to rs ultra.

Are there any alternative? I found one on Lazada the brand is tokico for the front only 2nd gen.

Also rear absorber can use same as  avanza gen 1 right?
*
honestly i cannot say for sure since i dont had the chance to work with second gen avanza.
But if u just want to replace yr old shock, u can always go for kyb excel g which is almost the same with oem but sightly stiffer or apm for cheaper price.

Changed 1st gen avanza front passenger wheel bearing last Monday. Noisy when cornering at first. Later further wear and tear made even driving in straight line noisy as speeds climb. Total damage RM90 bearing Koyo (purchased from spare part shop), send to workshop, workmanship + pump bearing (they don't have in house pump) RM65. Total damage RM155 and 3 hours time but most important, peace of mind travelling
*
thanks for sharing
But whats the sound it made when the bearing kong?

1.5, 1.3 underpowered.

I was thinking to change to bezza, but think I maintain avanza could be cheap as I have change lots of big parts already. Also, when I run fast avanza safer then milo tin bezza....hahaha
*
if u want to chg car, dont get bezza.
i drove one, and i prefer my old avanza.
the bezza only benefit than avanza is dint as bouncy as avanza, other than that even the avanza feels more powerfull than bezza.

I was about to. My bushing on the lower arm a bit torn. Maybe next year I will do. Think need at least 1/2day work.
*
i chd liao my front two lower arm.
wow aside from absorber, lower arm is the best chg.
totally better comfort than old one.
my one old bush already got crack and ball joint there macam got rush.
Totally different feeling compare to old arm, feel much smoother now when driving.
if yr car already more than 10 years, most probably the lower arm bush cracking already, chg it u will notice immediate effect from it.

guys, am thinking to takeover an old 2009 avanza 1.3 for business purpose.

These was previously a fleet car which has periodic maintenance, what is the cost of refurbishment I should be looking at?

Any major things like engine, GB, aircon?
*
take the 1.5 if u can.
but otherwise, just take it to your mechanic to check the usual engine condition, atf and the rear differential.
nothing major problem for thr avanzas.
If u do take it, i suggest u change all four of the absorber to better one such as Kyb rs ultra, change the shock mount, stablelizer link and bush and lower arm.
then your ride will be better.

Im thinking about buying a 2007 1.5 (A) but after reading this thread it seems like a poor choice.

What is the overall basic problem with them, that they are Daihatsu which is just not a good brand?
*
the car and the engine is typical toyota bulletproof as long as u change the oil accordingly.
the only main bad thing bout the first gen avanza 1.5 is the not so great ride comfort.
this is because the rear suspension is using rear live axle.
u either chg a whole set of better shock absorber and better tyres, and also it will be better when theres weight oj the rear side to counter the stiff rear spring.

Hi guys, how long did u guys go sc for service? I wonder if it is still worth it to go sc as my car still have nearly 2 years warranty (3 years age mt 1.3 2016). Driving about 3000-4000km a month and mileage now around 85k. So far only change battery and 2 tires.

Currently using 5w40 fully toyota oil, thinking to go 5w30 shell/liqui moly if service outside. It cost ~400 if go sc every 10k and ~800 every 40k major. Advice?
*
for me, if the car still under warranty, always service in official sc, because however reliable the car or the brand is, sometime things just is unpredictable as car is a still a machine at the end of the day.
A broken transmissions cost like 20k or 30k if needed to be replace, but i aint saying toyota avanza will be prone to failure, im just saying.

all avanza live axle rear lah....hahahah....it's the spring issue.

avanza bagus, other day I cucuk a BMW 320i on NPE 130km/h driver gave up....hahahah...maybe not experience....if suspension too soft u run fast you will crash, hard is good when u run fast or carry heavy loads....
*
bro
do u advise to change to lower spring like apm, i heard say apm spring is softer so maybe can improve on the comfort al lil bit
the stock spring is too stiff and high.

My avanza for daily. Mileage now 135k km. Recently got funny noise like from lower arm. Also vibration getting worst. Stationary ok means engine mount ok. Only when on the move vibration can feel, anyway saw some crack on the bush of lower arm.

Should I change entire arm or just the bush and ball joint and reuse the arm? If change entire arm do I go OEM or Toyota. Also looking to change water pump and belt too. Rear 2 tyres coming too. Die, easily rm1k.

Anyone change starter or service it? Better to service or change it?
*
chg bush only not worth it as the each arm got 3 bush, the price also not much cheaper than the arm.
chg the whole arm is better imo. much less work and possible less charge for labour too, chg bush also more leceh for the foreman also.
