Hi, can you share what maintenance you performed on your avanza? my avanza 1.5 2008 is consuming about 24L of petrol for 200km drive. Not sure if its normal or not but I hope something can be done so that the FC improves. running on 310k km mileage atm,  cant remember the last time I replaced spark plugs.

so i'm planning to replace the spark plugs during the next service. Have you cleaned your oxygen sensor before? please share the item and cost of the maintenance performed on your car for reference.

Kanina.....my engine fan motor ko, not even 6 mths, workshop also surprised. Then motor melted the fan blade and 1 big fuse ko. So now workshop charge me for motor and fan blade rm250, give me foc labor and fuse.....

Seriously now denso also can be defective.....

Do u guys service aircon if still cold? Some ppl told me if don't service now until broken have to replace cooling coil etc will cost much more. Some ppl told me don't touch aircon if still cold, often after service aircon no problem will become problem. Mine already 100k 3+ years without service and don't even have cabin filter.

My 2005 Avanza 1.3 front wheel bearings lately gave some funny noise like a soft 'grrrrrrr' .
After replacing the 2 bearings , it is normal again .
This wheel bearing problem is like every 2-4 years .
Whereas my wira and Prado do not have such problem .
Any one here has similar problem at regular intervals ?
Do you think this is abnormal ?

I'm thinking of buying a 2nd hand avanza year 2007. Here's the details:
1. reg 2007 1.3 manual but owner change engine to 1.5. To date with new engine 34kKM only.
2. Interior and exterior mint looking since last owner took detailing work for this car very seriously. Even the seat is looking brand new. The owner used seat cover since day 1 and only remove them for selling.
3. Open price rm17k.
4. Overall condition: buy and drive. no need repair.

Is this a good deal? Considering that I plan to use this car for 5 years before trading it with another one.

Do you mind sharing the engine location number as per attached image? Or do I have to go under the engine bay?

If I remember correctly from an article a few years back, the 1.5 avanza was supposed to run 500 rpm lower compared to a 1.3 auto for the same speed. For example if 1.5 is doing 4k RPM at 100km/h, then 1.3 auto will be doing 4.5k RPM at the same speed. However, in your case, you may have the power but then you might not be enjoying fuel savings as it is still tied to a 1.3 gearbox...worst might even increase your fuel consumption.

if you are not well versed with a car workings, suggest to bring along your own trusted mechanic.

Your's 2006 is about same age as my 1.3L Avanza ,but having good durability on wheel bearings .
Is your's a 1.5L or 1.3L ?

Dear Avanza owners, I am currently thinking to get a new current Avanza.
What I'm looking for and hoping to get is a simple and durable car, that I can rely on for many years to come.

From what I have read so far, Avanza appears to be what I'm looking for, asides from some mentions on the absorber and air-cond ( can anyone confirm that is indeed the case for most Avanzas? ).

Before I make the purchase, could any current or past Avanza owners kindly share what are the common issues/problems/problematic parts of an Avanza that I need to be aware of?
Has the Avanza been really generally reliable and dependable for you?

I think apart from fabric, others will definitely be too hot to sit on...unless he cools down the interior before going in. Others I think will panggang belakang.

This is the 2020 model avanza sold in Vietnam. If assessed, it is no different than a mobile corrugated iron.
