buy the brands that easy to get the sillicone part replacement...because it will grow fungi and become black and hard to clean

Not necessarily made in Japan, but even their made in China ones are good. You can't really get many choices here. If you have friends or relatives visiting Japan, best to ask them to hand carry one back for you. I have one Thermos and Tiger before I got my Zojirushi. The Zojirushi one is the best among them. Get vacuum insulated thermos. Vacuum insulation greatly reduce heat transfer.
