Long term huh.

Look. Say I buy this hella good stock.
Supposed to be sibeh geng

I buy. 6 months of holding but the terror good stock is losing money.

1 year later. Still losing money.

Isn't it time to address my stock selection now?

Maybe I sucks. The so called good stock might just be my own opinion. sweat.gif

Hold another year? And the stock is still losing money.

I suck or the market suck?

I need to address this, yes?

And surely holding the stick for any longer time is nothing but being delusional.

The failure to admit own stock picking weakness and insisting on holding long term is nothing but hoping the markets are kind to me and turn my losses to gains.

Yeah.. Investing is not as easy.

Also not surprising....

Gott be careful reading news clip 'as it is'.... cos it appears that the boss is extremely positive on the company despite the slump.

And if one digs further, he had been busy buying a lot since Dec 2020.

That's the boss buying of shares... since Dec 2020

Circle marks the spot on the chart below.....

user posted image

Barring any mistakes from me... that's about 105,417,700 shares bought. (some ESOS were exercised. I left those out)
Total cost spend on buying shares 360,831,950.33
Average cost ~ 3.422

Marked to market value as this morning opening price of 0.835, these shares are only worth 88,023,779.50

only some 272,808.170.83 went to share heaven.....  ohmy.gif
Learning from other people's mistakes is the way, yes?
1. Such buying does not work. That is AVERAGE DOWN or the fancy pansy name such as DCA or TOP UP or COLLECTION does not work!

2. Even the big boss can make mistake. So if big boss buy, it doesn't mean one should die die follow...... (in this case, unfortunately, the follower followed die, die....)
*
And the updated score card...

Since Dec 2020, he has bought 127,617,700 shares.
Total amount paid: 375,002,264.33
Average cost is now 2.9384

Current share price? 0.625

Some 295 million went to share heaven...................

Yup, clearly average down or the fancy pansy industry name 'DCA' does not work.

....

Carol Schleif, deputy chief investment officer at BMO's family office in Minneapolis, cautioned against investing in companies that look cheap and have loyal customers. It's all about management, balance sheets and projected income, she said.

While one possible outcome for pandemic favorites with slowing growth could be a buyout by a larger company, Schleif is wary of making this bet.

"Buying a stock because you think it's going to get taken out, that's a risk. I wouldn't be willing to do it with any money I wasn't willing to lose," she said. "It's not really investing. It's more opportunistic.
