Oops. U were right. It dropped to 1.02 now.

I got trapped at frontkn too. That was a real shock.

Just my gut feelings as i saw the movements always drop a few days after it rises.

Im human too. Haha... but i just this time around should be well supported at RM1?

U got trapped in frontkn? Guess ur price is higher?

Nope. When play for small margins, one tends to  over trade - usually making trades which are less than ideal. More unwarranted risks....

Quite a big drop. RM0.995 now.

Yeah frontkn i bought at 0.375, sold as soon as i knew about the crash. Made some losses but not too much. But man, I had high hopes for that stock. Steadily going up and supported by good news, analyst TP etc...
*
it was an unexpected crash, and my gains became smaller after crash. haha..

i had high hope for it too, never thought that something unfortunate like that to happen.

QUOTE(Boon3 @ Aug 10 2017, 05:27 PM)
When one wins a small trade... say 100 bucks.... in and out a stock within a day.....
it's addictive.....

and after a couple of times...
soon one will be in dreamland...

wahbeh sibeh song wo.....
here one hundered... there one hundred fifty... there again two hundred....
soon one is like a calculating genius ....
one week so much...
one month so much...
one year so much....
Ooolalala......

here lala there lala... everywhere also lala.....

The addiction to win small trades become so powderfull....
that one is trading just for the sake of wanting to trade and wanting to win that one hundred ringgit....
But in reality....
where got life so wonderful one?
where got one hundred ringgit trade everywhere one?

so with the impulse to trade...
the desire to win that one hundred ringgit....

this usually turns the trader to wanting to trade every day.... the over trading....
and when this happens....
the trader usually takes on much more riskier trade......

This HAPPENS....

for GREED is there......  laugh.gif  laugh.gif  laugh.gif

BUT is such greed good?  rolleyes.gif

Think like a business man...
your profit for a trade is usually one hundred plus...
but then...
we need to be realistic...
what about the potential losses?

Can one keep the losses below 100?

If the answer is NO.... then .... will such trading makes good business sense?
Is it smart to trade when one wins so little but if one loses .... the losses could be bigger than the potential winning....
make good sense mah?
I tell you la....
Trading to win peanuts ..... is an extremely bad idea.....
SOONER rather than later...
the losses will catch up.....

icon_rolleyes.gif

so true, 5 years back i was clueless about a company and only buy/sell based on RSI indicator, make small gains but losses are bigger than those small gains.

thats why when u recommend paper trading for newbies, i think it is such a good idea coz i too suffered huge losses due to not knowing anything and trade recklessly.

what you have said is so true, win big or go home. thumbsup.gif

It's all simple maths too... tongue.gif

If one cut losses at 7% and takes profit at 10%.... there's not going to be anything much left, yes? and at such rate, it is very easy to snowball the losses. Worse still... is when the mega losses hit!!

very subjective, now almost all the big drops are recovering, especially in my watchlist, hengyuan and inari.

First.... say again... no chin chin stuff la....

All the homework all the chart can never ever guarantee 100% success...

Second...

It's not about winning more than you lose la....
Let me ask.you....
If you win 7 out of 10 times... does this guarantee that you will win money?
*
Yes of course no guarantee of winning. But the chances of winning should be higher as compared to trading recklessly right?

Not guarantee as losses might be bigger than winning even it is a 7 winning sprees 3 losses.

Might to share more of your approaches boon?

Errr...

Say 7 out of 10 wins... each bet 100.

Every time win... win say 10%.
But those losses... lose 25%...
.... what u get?
*
Of course lose as losses in term of percentage is more than winnings.

So how you make sure something like this wont happen?

My approach will be winning more lose less and by study a company n its chart which gives me confident to hold for bigger gains and cut when something goes wrong. Right?

QUOTE(Boon3 @ Aug 12 2017, 02:16 PM)
It's not about the approach. tongue.gif

What is more important is you need to understand the very basic concept of keeping your winnings big and your  losses small. If one fails to grasp this, no matter how good the approach is, one could still lose money.

Let winners run, keep losses small.

Same example as earlier..
Say one keep losses at 10%...
One could lose 7 times....
But as long as winners are kept huge (25% or more) ...
One only needs to win 3 out of 10 times to have success.
*
Now i get what u mean haha.. true true. Makes sense.

I think this is most likely a small bear which is good for the market in longer term.. but I may be wrong cos I'm noob.. stocks which were bought lately are almost back to my entry price and some are in losses..
I'm currently holding Petronm, hengyuan, astino, mikromb, Gkent, hevea, luxchem, superlon, padini and comfort.

I'm most uncomfortable holding astino cos it's now in 15% paper loss.

Others like petronm, hengyuan and Gkent are close to my entry price.

These stocks can hold for long term or not ah?
*
Imo u hold too many stocks liao brother. When u ask the question of these stocks can hold long term or not ah means u sudah suicide liao ma.

QUOTE(Suicidal Guy @ Aug 16 2017, 05:14 PM)
IMO diversify is good for noob like me la.. at least for now.. at least my returns will be moderate.. if I keep a concentrated portfolio, I might end up with high returns if I'm lucky.. if I'm not, I might even lose my pants.. I would keep a more concentrated portfolio only when I master the art of trading..
*
of course luck is a little extra bonus in this market as the market was quite good this first half of 2017 but a too diversified portfolio might end up you only getting a smaller returns compared to a more concentrated portfolio, but this is just my pure view after following boon for few years. tongue.gif

i still remember that i used to have a portfolio of 6 to 7 shares but the return was not too good, and it looks like you are managing a fund. in this case, why not you consider investing in unit trust? right?

QUOTE(Boon3 @ Aug 16 2017, 05:41 PM)
This always 'sound' logical but ... I am telling you this ain't so.

Diversifying will never make it safer. When shit happens, like a crash, they will all die... well ... some of the better ones... they just die less or recover faster.

And then ... when carries more different stocks... the tendency is that sooner and not later, they will most likely to carry the big G - the goreng stocks... and because of the noob factor...the cutting loss is an art they could never master... and in most failure cases....all it takes is ONE NASTY BAD GORENG STOCK that goes badly wrong . And when this happens....tbe portfolio will turn in huge mega losses.

And I will say this.... it's never how many stocks you carry... most important is you carry the right one.

And when you carry less different stocks...you force yourself to be damn bloody correct....this is something which I have seen many with multi stocks in their portfolio will fail to do. Most of the time...they carry more just cos of the theory... they carry stocks to fullfil their die hard gambling blood.. they carry more cos they think one bad stock selection is ok. Cos they think the other stocks can take care of one or two lousy picks...

And so on and so on.....

Ps this issue is subjective. It's always ok for you to disagree.

All you need to do is send Gark to kowtim me.

The more I hesitate, the higher it is going. Dow jones looking good at the moment too. If tmr above RM1.10 still can go in ah?

Or is this just the start of an uptrend? Looking at CCK's profit and revenue for the past 10 years, looks to be a solid company. Slow and steady growth with consistent returns.
