Getting PR is good for one thing... SG will be more like a second home rather than just barely a place to work.
Being on EP you lose the freedom of job hopping (not saying that it's good) and sense of security. It's a give and take thing. You won't feel like someone else has control of your life that if you make them unhappy they can just threaten to cancel your permit (as if taking your permit away to live here) but looking it another way, you lose the protection by MOM.
Another thing is the CPF contribution. I'm from East Malaysia. For the time being I still see that I would probably go back to East Malaysia for the rest of my life probably in another 10-15 years. Good thing is... If I made up my mind to not come back to SG for work anytime soon, I can choose to give up my PR and reclaim all my CPF. Even if I chose not to take it back, I can leave it in CPF and take it as another form of savings and retrieve it at a later date. At least in the foreseeable future SGD is still less volatile compared to MYR. Why not?
I'm still a free man and don't really need that extra cash with me every month. Just let CPF take it lo
Extra protection under Medishield also what.
Other perks...
Get to go to all Museum and most exhibitions for free: https://www.nhb.gov.sg/whats-on/admission/overview
One of the reasons why I've never been to any SG Museum yet
Oh ya... If one day decided to start up something, PR can do it. You can't do it while you're on EP.

How would they know u will be in East Malaysia forever?Being on EP you lose the freedom of job hopping (not saying that it's good) and sense of security. It's a give and take thing.
