Hey guys, just need your opinion on a current dilemma I'm in.

Got offered a technical specialist position in SG, basic $2300, 5 day work week, 9-12 hours rotating shift (depends if my superior calls me in for OT or not).

Promotion wise, HR informed me that after 3-4 years, can become associate engineer depending on your performance and how well you keep your superior happy.

I have a mechanical eng degree from TARC. Currently working as a maintenance engineer with less than RM3K/month.

Coming Feb'18 marks my 11th month since I started working.

Worth it to accept this offer? How would an employer look at my resume when he/she finds out that I've downgraded from eng to tech position?

Also, I'm looking to save around $1k-ish with my basic. Possible?

Assuming I'm gonna do well at the interview and there's enough S-pass quota left, would it be "good chance of getting the job due to my relevant experience and my nationality doesn't matter significantly to the company" or "difficult to get the job due to the company heavily favouring the locals for a graduate position"? I guess the reality would be somewhere in between, idk which side it's leaning towards though.
