Can also do at johor UTC. I did mine last week, went in to JB and queued at the building before it opened at 8.30am, got my passport settled by 12.20pm, was back in SG by 1pm, checked in my flight at Changi by 1.40pm. Just take note to use manual lane at immigration until your passport is updated with your EP / blue IC.

Previously I work in MY and submit income tax, and i didn't close LHDN account when i work in SG.

If now i work in SG, do I still need to pay in Malaysia income tax?

My income in MY is zero. So should i write zero income? or sg income? or any document needed?
*
no need as you will be paying SG income tax

LHDN account no need close.

Hey guys, just need your opinion on a current dilemma I'm in.

Got offered a technical specialist position in SG, basic $2300, 5 day work week, 9-12 hours rotating shift (depends if my superior calls me in for OT or not).

Promotion wise, HR informed me that after 3-4 years, can become associate engineer depending on your performance and how well you keep your superior happy.

I have a mechanical eng degree from TARC. Currently working as a maintenance engineer with less than RM3K/month.

Coming Feb'18 marks my 11th month since I started working.

Worth it to accept this offer? How would an employer look at my resume when he/she finds out that I've downgraded from eng to tech position?

Also, I'm looking to save around $1k-ish with my basic. Possible?

Thanks in advance! smile.gif

not sure what is ur current salary?
2.3k seems abit lot.

2.3k, assume ur rental 600, food 500 = 1.1k
so u got balance 1.2k....should be fine.

Assuming I'm gonna do well at the interview and there's enough S-pass quota left, would it be "good chance of getting the job due to my relevant experience and my nationality doesn't matter significantly to the company" or "difficult to get the job due to the company heavily favouring the locals for a graduate position"? I guess the reality would be somewhere in between, idk which side it's leaning towards though.
*
it doesnt matter S pass or EP
1st thing 1st..get a job here

no point talking what pass u gonna get if u cant even land an offer

I meant, what are the chances of a foreigner to get hired just by walking in into any cafes/restaurant there if anyone had done such daredevil action? -assuming cafe got quota for foreign la

put some light in this, dreading my current job, already have a place to stay in sg. Only thing stopping me frm flipping desk rn is my car, loans, insurance those typical monthly commitment that i couldn drop as easy 🙄
*
low chance
unless you are PR / singaporean

extremely low chance a cafe going to hired a malaysian without PR working in cafe.

Apply for postal vote.

If you are living in southern Thailand (Narathiwat, Pattani, Yala, Songkhla and Satun), Singapore, Brunei and Kalimantan province, Indonesia.

Those residing in these places listed above will not be eligible for this facility and they would be required need to return to Malaysia to cast their vote in person on polling day.
