yea i tried it out in the shop...

- its real comefortable for me ( maybe cos i play a big ass acoustic so..)
- pretty light compared to epiphone
- i play an acoustic with a thick neck so the godin neck was fine
- its bolt on ( so can change the neck if it breaks )
- sound quality was good for me...got the sound im looking for
- it looks like a fender tele mixed with abit of Lp ( yum )

only complaints is tht its H-S-S , i wanted a H-S-H

but i think there is another model 'godin sdxt' which has H-S-H

thats what most ppl think.
but reality is, finding a aftermarket neck is not easy.
and sometimes the original manufacturers will not send you a replacement neck, unless you send them the whole body.
since its a godin, aftermarket necks will be hell to find.
even for strats which are common, aftermarket necks sometimes dont fit perfectly.

also out of so many guitars, how many necks you think break?
and those that break are usually caused by stupidity.

Looks like you've done quite a deal of homework researching on your next-on-the-to-buy-list guitar smile.gif. You've pretty much have nailed what you basically looking for

A few more "things" you can consider

Have you tried strapping the goding and playing with it standing? (did you try playing with it standing or sitting? might want to try playing while standing). How does the guitar feel playing standing...

Tried yanking on the wammy bar? How does the Godin stand from abuse on the wammy bar? Still in tune? biggrin.gif

Hows the tone? What pickups is the godin using? For cheap/not-so-expensive guitars, I would say usually the stock pickups sound not great. You might want to research and consider finding what kind of pickup replacement when you are ready to "upgrade" your goding. (active or passive, brand, model...etc)

Maybe other forummers can chip in their thoughts on what else you can consider.

Just my $0.02

it uses stock godin pickups which are good ( according to reviews ) , dont know bout the pickups but i did get the sound i wanted smile.gif

called them just now ..apparently the godin sdxt is out of production so ill just go for godin sd

eh wait...
you're looking for a godin SD?
there is one now on jamtank for sale at RM1250...used of cos.

interesting guitar with 24.75" scale length.
but maple body, thats gonna be one bright sounding guitar...and possibly very heavy if its not chambered.

just beware of the rock maple neck.
some users have complained that its too 'rock hard', til the trussrod doesnt do crap on it.
