HEy i just came back from 'the guitar store' in sri hartamas and i saw this Godin guitar tht was just sweet..it had tremelo , S-S-H pickups , LP like body but with strat head...for rm1800 ... is it good?

at first i wanted to get sx but the guy said may need to change the fret thing every 3 years or something like tht...

so i tought ok...epiphone then...but the guy said epiphone now made in china and quality dropped

so now im not sure what to get...

I need to have

-H-S-H pickups or those humbuckers tht look like 2 single coil side by side ... rclxub.gif
-5-way selector switch
-LP like body

is Godin guitars good?

LP guitars don't have 5 way switches.

And do you REALLY need a 5 way switch?

My best 3 guitars are all 3 way toggles.....

hmm........ but I AM tempted to go for Mark Morton's signature Dominator guitar.....individual coil-tapped humbuckers..... YUM!

Yeah, Godin guitars are pretty good & you shouldn't go wrong with them. So far, haven't heard any complaints from their users... yet. biggrin.gif

cheaper godin guitars usually have bodies made from poplar.
ie. same material as the older fender mexican models.
now fender mexican are using traditional alder like US.

so basically you're just paying more for its 'assembled in the US tag'.

any humbucker with 4 conductor wires, 2 for each coil, can be changed to single coil.
just cos a humbucker looks like 2 singlecoils side by side, doesnt mean it can be changed to single.

again, he needs to get smacked.
i hate to say this, but hes a stupid noob.

Guess what? Solid State.

"No.... I meant all tube.... Both tube in Pre-amp and Power-amp section"

"OH! That one! Got! Got! This one here! Damn hardcore!"

"Um..... that's just tube-enabled. I want an all tube 50watter"

well, if that godin can coil-tap, go get it.

another option is the ibanez SZ520, one of the rare few ibanez that i dont mind.
comes with ibanez duncan pickups, coil-tap also.
basically its LP specs but in a strat design.

seriously, you do not need S-S-H, or H-S-H, or A-B-C.
any 3 pickup combo takes getting used to, cos the middle pickup WILL get in the way of your pick.

heh, this reminds me of a certain store that starts with the letter M.
anyone wanna buy vowels? tongue.gif

the boss will come in, act nice nice and all.
convince you to buy a nice nice guitar and say he'll teach you etc etc.
he is good at guitar for sure.
but once you buy it, he wont teach you and someone else will.

so yea, whos gonna be giving you those 3 month free lessons?
their plumber? tongue.gif
