Derived from AAD 7001? Saw a picture in inter-asia website. Even has Phil Jones' signature.
Those are expensive speakers, but very highly regarded. Now I'm curious how much this will cost.

Mid-Woofer Technology----- 5.5" aluminum cone low distortion mid-woofer

The 5.5" woofer in the A200 is an aluminum cone/large voice coil signature Phil Jones design. It uses a neodymium motor to provide a high magnetic flux to cover the entire voice coil of the loudspeaker. This is rarely done in speaker construction because of the sheer cost. Majority of loudspeakers use a voice-coil mostly overhung outside the magnetic field . By using a much larger magnetic field in the A200 woofer, we considerably reduce harmonic and inter-modulation distortion, giving the speaker a far more musical and natural sound.

The A200 cabinet is built from 25mm rigid MDF with cherry wood veneer finished in satin lacquer. Strong internal bracing supports and stabilizes the drivers and eliminates cabinet resonance to minimum. To further reduce coloration, cabinet interior is fully lined with 36mm thick waved sound absorption material.

We know you buy a loudspeaker to do what it does. Not only it has to look good in your home but it is a precision instrument to give you the greatest of joy from listening to music. So we put your money where it matters most: in the sound!

What is "British sound"?

How is it different from a Russian sound speaker?

A great example I believe is the LS 3/5a signature sound, I think that it makes almost everything sound a bit more romantic, soulful, very very pleasant tune, though sacrifice a bit of transparency, dynamic, and neutrality of sound, the LS 3/5a I believe cannot be done via amp or DAC, maybe there are gears that produce that but I'm not sure hmm.gif

Main reason being that different regions have their own take on audio engineering and sound preference.
The Japanese also has their own signature sound. There is this one Hong Kong based British speaker driver manufacturer that had made a driver specifically for the Japanese market, with the input of Japanese audio enthusiasts. The frequency response graph looks nothing like any of their other drivers. One might even say that the speaker driver performs poorly.

They can be enjoyable if put in the right cabinet, but they cannot be used as reference for monitoring.

Considering that it uses 1 inch thick MDF, ribbon tweeters, and 5.5 inch aluminium diaphragm woofers with Neodymium magnets and cast aluminium frame, and it is an active speaker with a DSP, it's actually quite alright price wise.

The A200 horn loaded tweeter is a true ribbon tweeter. It inherits the mechanism of the tweeter in our flagship 7001i near field monitor, but with an added phase correction device which greatly improves frequency response and increases sound dispersion.

A 65mm length and 0.12mm thick aluminum ribbon is placed between the two large neodymium magnets. Electric current feeds through the ribbon so that it functions like a coil in a conventional loudspeaker. At the same time, the ribbon also acts like a diaphragm as it moves air. The combination of these two functions gives the ribbon tweeter high efficiency and great transient response without delay.

The A200 ribbon tweeter has a very low resistance of about 0.2 Ohm and it works with a transformer. The primary coil of the transformer connects to the amplifier; the secondary coil connects to the ribbon and it is wound of very thick and flat copper wire. The low resistance brings more current through the ribbon thus rise the SPL of high frequency, which leads to wide frequency response.

We construct the A200 tweeter with the highest quality aluminum ribbon, strong Neodymium-Rare Earth magnets material coupled with an appropriate transformer to give it high sensitivity, superb transient response, extended frequency range and ultra high definition.

The unique shape and size of the horn on the A200 tweeter was designed from precision calculation and simulation. Connecting the ribbon tweeter to a horn helps the sound generated by ribbon better coupled to the air. It further increased efficiency, power handling, frequency response and dispersion.

A wide frequency range and good transient response is vital for the reproduction of the dynamics of music such as what you hear in the musical density of symphonic music or jazz ensembles.

The horn loaded ribbon tweeter of A200 offers just the right features: high sensitivity, good transient response, wide frequency band, high resolution. You can now hear every nuance in the music, and enjoy it to the fullest extend.

AirPulse A200 (Model One) vs JBL LSR305 || Sound Demo

This is a big one IMO, AirPulse goes against my long time budget benchmark, the JBL LSR305. Both have similar sized woofers, both have tweeters recessed inside the horn. But that would be the end of similarities. The biggest difference between those two is the price, JBL is around 1/3 of price of AirPulse and it shows everywhere. The build quality, the features, and most importantly the sound quality. AirPulse is better than JBL in every sound category, bass tightness and depth, midrange quality, top end extension and air, soundstageing, You name it. Does it justify the price difference? In my opinion yes, but if You can not afford AirPulse worry not, as JBL is still the king of budget speakers (AirPulse is in a different category altogether because of its price).

AirPulse A200 is fantastically neutral speaker, with open, detailed and transparent sound from top to bottom. Add to that very solid build quality and rich set of features, and suddenly its steep price becomes much more reasonable. I was reluctant to return them, I wish I had them for longer. AirPulse A200 lands on top of my wish list to become my new benchmark speaker soon (gotta start saving those pennies), and from now on I am looking forward to next products from AirPulse and Mr. Phil Jones without any anxiety;) Highly recommended.

The last of series of comparisons starring AirPulse and a transition to KEF X300A series of comparisons. Both speakers are close in price tag, yet they sound quite different. KEF X300A sounds rather dark with emphasis on midrange (with a bit of honky and nasal colorations) but recessed upper ranges, while AirPulse is more linear, neutural and detailed with more present upper midrange and treble. For me AirPulse is a winner here. Signal for this comparison was fed to both via analog inputs from external DAC. Cheers!

Summing up, in some ways I’m not sure what to make of the Airpulse A200s – they are an intriguing mix of cutting edge technology and sound quality along with a few elements that you need to think carefully about. First audition the top end and make sure the balance is one you can live with. The active format with umbilical cable is an unusual configuration – does it work in your set up? It is always good when a product arrives that shakes up expectations – and the A200s are a breath of fresh air in monitor speakers, loaded with facilities, beautifully finished and with some outstanding audio strengths. And for the level of performance they are not at all expensive, isn’t that the definition of a bargain?

The A100 has an exquisite piano lacquer appearance, inheriting the appearance and sound characters of our flagship model 7001 near-field monitor speakers designed by Phil Jones. Using the same XMOS core as its bigger brother A300, this unassumingly small cabinet delivers outstanding performance beyond your expectation.

DL 2018 Holiday Gift Guide

When I think of expensive toys, it’s not just phones that get me excited. How about some dope home studio/office stuff? This year, I’m focusing more on audio goodness, and to help, I’ve been using a set of Airpulse A100 studio monitors from Edifier. Not only do they have exceptional high-res audio support, but a load of ways to set them up is what has me most excited about them. These monitors allow for audio connections via Bluetooth, 3.5mm, USB, as well as Optical/Coaxial. If you produce music or videos at home, or in your office, I would definitely recommend a pair.

AirPulse A100 is smallest of new AirPulse lineup, but in my opinion it is the best of them. Today we will compare it with JBL LSR305. As with bigger A300 and A200, smaller A100 is very well build, but it is also much more compact and stylish. It also looks and feels much better than JBL LSR305 but that is expected when looking at the price difference.

Sorry, we don't have A100 demo at the moment.
We only have A200 demo in Star Picker, you can try it @ Star Picker if you interested.

AirPulse A100 Bluetooth speakers put Hi-Fi sound into a smaller footprint.

In all, the AirPulse A100 speakers are exceptionally well made, especially for their size. The decision to go with ribbon tweeters is welcome and you would be hard pressed to find similar quality in bookshelf sized speakers at this price point.

AirPulse did an excellent job in balance the Hi-Fi audio quality, small footprint, and multiple inputs. The look is a bit on the common side but when kept clean, the lacquered finish really stands out.

The A300s are a mid-priced active speaker packing powerful class D amplification, quality components and plenty of features into a pair of solid and well finished enclosures. Their price and size places them in a segment of the market where there is a great deal of competition, but they compare very favourably to models far beyond their price. Highly recommended.

The price of the A300 on that well‑known online retail site puts it right at the entry level for serious active monitoring. As such it has competition from the likes of Dynaudio, PreSonus, HEDD and Focal, to name just four of many. At the price, however, there's really not much else that can beat the A300's seductive mid‑range and bass bandwidth.

For me AirPulse is the superior speaker here, because I like my music honest and true to the source material, but that very well may not be the case for you.

If possible, I'd recommend finding a pair at a home theater store and scheduling a listening session to make sure they are right for you. The asking price is steep, but this is one case where you definitely get what you paid for.

And is there any major difference between A100 and A200 in terms of performance? Thanks

the mids/low frequencies seems to be a compromise in favor of budget and being an entry level, however i think this can be easily solved with the sub out that the A80 now have.

something for me to aim for in the future biggrin.gif

@Edifier I have been using s360DB for a year now. interested to move forward to Airpulse, how much difference in sound signature of 360 compared to a80 or a100...

Also since 3s60 have a subwoofer, should I move up to s200 or 300 instead?

360db if hear long actually overall the Equalizer is very V shape, as u twist the volume knob more louder the V shape is more aubible... most of the 2.1 speakers does sound like this. after long time u own it u will always missing a hole in the sound spectrum which is the mids. Highs and Lows always punching out overpowering the Mids, mostly will suffers especially in watching movies hard to hear clear the actors speech/vocals. And if u turn off the S360DB subwoofer after the bass directed to the 2 satellites and if u play it loud the distortion is very obvious, buzzing vocal with mixture of bass and sound is not clear anymore...

my bet is that just for comparison i simply choose the edifier T5 subwoofer because very similar to S360db (S360db subwoofer 75w, T5 subwoofer 70w)

A80 + Edifier T5 subwoofer = (low/mids/highs) sure beat S360db (add up cost around rm2600 +/-)

A100 + Edifier T5 subwoofer = (low/mids/high) sure win S360db (add up cost around rm3400 +/-)

A200 dont have subwoofer output (unless u bypass through another middle source/amp with sub output), so around 40hz to 50hz low probably will loose to S360DB but mids and high sure handles better more clear

A300 also same dont have subwoofer output jack no matter how u pump it the certain Lows' frequency sure loose to the S360db 8 inch woofer elastic bass..but mids and high super satisfying

By the way A80 & A100 seems like the main difference is the mid woofer driver design/size, A80 woofer build is overhung design, A100 woofer is underhung design (as well as A200/A300 woofer also is underhung) underhung speakers build cost more expensive than overhung. A80 & A100 horn ribbon tweeters were exactly the same type, wattage also same which is 10w, same as woofer also both is 40w. A80 is 4.5 inch woofer driver where else A100 is slightly larger 5 inch driver...

@djandrew I guess youre right.. i am searching for a pair of speaker to fill up the hole. I do agree with you, end up i use my xm3 headphone more for music & movies, switch to 360DB more for games. Im looking at A80 more for its bluetooth 5.0, but worry it will sound the same as my current speaker.

I guess thats leaves me 2 options, either A80 or A100 setup, as i dont want to lose the sub. Thanks for the detailed explanation.

I can attest to this having own the A300 and comparing with my old Aego M. The A300 bass doesn't go as low as from a subwoofer, but it is so much tighter and isn't muddy like from the Aego M. I do think the 360DB sub is superior to the Aego M.

Needless to mention about the mids and high, I'm so shocked of the clarity.

both will actually work for you. Your A300 is a active bookshelf, you do not need external amp to drive it. You just need a line input then the speaker internal amp will amplify the signal.

Depends on how you want to play it.
WXA is an integrated amp (preamp + amp). If you are planning to upgrade to a passive bookshelf you can get WXA. The next time when you have a new speaker you do not need to get another amp.

If you want to have a dedicated preamp (which only focus on signal processing) - you can get WXC. Make sure you are plugging into AUX out not pre-out else you are just wasting your preamp. If you like this audio quality coming from this preamp you can keep it and get a WXA/other amp next time when you are moving to passive speakers

Lastly, i think you know that your A300 will work with direct connection to your media source with or without WXC or WXA icon_rolleyes.gif

Hi, i'm very new here and dont know much about audio, unexpectedly got  a apair of A300, yesterday.

Between amplifier(Yamaha WXA-50) and preamp(WXC-50), which one is better for a300 to connect to?
*
Nice speaker rclxms.gif

Like kevinlim001 said, A300 is with built in amp, you can't use external amp to power it. And it even have USB input if you want to connect it directly with pc/laptop/tablet/handphone in addition to other normal input such as RCA, optical, and bluetooth.

both will actually work for you. Your A300 is a active bookshelf, you do not need external amp to drive it. You just need a line input then the speaker internal amp will amplify the signal.

Depends on how you want to play it.

Oooo Ok thanks brother @kevinlim001 , now i understand.

For time being, i think i dont need to add Amp or preamp.. get used with this speaker first, in these 2,3 days, testing the speaker sound, it really good (for me), clear voices even when volume very low, and the bass also nice, and can be loud (if we want to),,

sometimes i got a headache after listening to music with heavy bass.. (-**-)

For now, i connect to my laptop/workstation via USB.

btw, between USB connection and Bluetooth Connection, which one is better (in terms of quality)

USB anytime over bluetooth. Bluetooth is compressed format but nowadays it's so good most people don't notice the difference. laugh.gif

Oooo.. ok understand...

At first, I thought maybe quality is same because it use aptX..

What is aptX technology?
aptX is a proven technology that compresses and then decompresses audio as it travels from a source device like a phone, to a receiving device like a wireless speaker, in a way that it can be transmitted over Bluetooth without damaging the quality. This ensures that you get the very most from your audio

its not the same beside there is an upgraded version aptX HD. This promised to deliver 24bits/48khz

the problem with Bluetooth, it will compress your audio before it reaches your DAC in your speaker for signal processing. Signal degradation may happen during the process.

Connection with usb will send the audio codec directly into the speaker DAC for it to process without compression. As long as the audio codec is readable/supported by your speaker DAC then it will work.

In short at this moment USB is preferable over APTX HD, if you own a decent soundcard then you can try to let the soundcard do the processing work and send signal thru RCA directly to your speaker AMP by passing DAC. See if you can tell the different between two. nod.gif

Agree with everything you say. The USB can be permanently plugged into your PC for prolong listening, better quality than Bluetooth and PC stock sound card. Heck I think the A300 DAC is better than Schiit Modi 2 DAC.

I plugged into my Xiaomi MiBox Android TV box. It isn't bit-perfect but I can't tell difference listening to my FLAC collection, and definitely no difference listening from Spotify.

I do use the AptX Bluetooth for quick music listening from Android phone + Spotify App as it is really convenient.

I really glad I got this instead of going to the traditional Amp + Passive route.

if you already have a dac then try both method and see if you can tell any diff. If you have a good dac i will run it thru dac and rca it to speaker. I dont think A300 is having a good dac but certainly better than those on board soundchip.

my bet is that just for comparison i simply choose the edifier T5 subwoofer because very similar to S360db (S360db subwoofer 75w, T5 subwoofer 70w)

*
wow thanks for the listing of comparison/details.

i am also contemplating/aiming for an air pulse + sub woofer setup. your post is definitely of great help thumbup.gif

i cant tell you for sure bro.. you gonna test it our urself. no harm right? You already got the dac and when you are going to have the A300 pro just try both method and see which 1 sound better for you. Both way will work its just matter of your preference.

hey bro, i bought airpulse A100 already and a Yamaha 10 inch subwoofer model NS-SW300 (rm1400), the sound is very great very matching crossover slope!

at the subwoofer High-cut i set to 70hz and volume knob at about 10:30 o'clock position.

if can don't get 12 inch sub for these A100 speakers might have a sound hole or over powered it because A100 i tested in my room (my room is small about 6 x 8 meters) and i do a bass frequency sweep test, about 80hz start and below the A100 bass starts to drop already, listening by ears, but it also depends on your listening position because my position is middle of room, if ur listening position is at the end of the wall then it is very audible bass even around 70hz it will be shallow but audible....

i simply use this youtube sample for bass sweep test
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJ6Hc3zH5KE

even though the specs written is 52hz - 40khz but in real scenario for my case my room listening it starts about 75hz and bove is more audible (can feel the sound), and my subwoofer starts to kick in louder around 83hz and below, by my ears listening close...... i believe my room is consider very small already if your room is bigger A100 gonna be more loud audible maybe around 80hz and above (mileage might be vary depends on your listening position and subwoofer placement).

i set all the volume is very balance almost can't feel the subwoofer is there when listening music but can feels the vibrations overall from my seats, it feels like the bass is coming out from the both channel of the A100, i prefer like this, if volume up the sub abit higher can feel too much bass coming from that subwoofer direction covering the A100 speakers.

ignore my messy room stuffs tongue.gif

I can attest to this having own the A300 and comparing with my old Aego M. The A300 bass doesn't go as low as from a subwoofer, but it is so much tighter and isn't muddy like from the Aego M. I do think the 360DB sub is superior to the Aego M.

Needless to mention about the mids and high, I'm so shocked of the clarity.

Although it's marketed to be a tv use speaker from the website...
I see many people using it for speaker usage. I see no issue for it being a PC speaker since it is bookshelf sized flex.gif

Compared with the previous AIRPULSE products, the sound performance of A300Pro is an all-round improvement. With ample power, a pair of 6.5-inch large-size woofers often brings not only the delicacy under stability but also the more gratifying ability to expand and release freely. With the A300Pro on the left and right independent channels, the sound density, especially the mid and high-frequency density, has improved significantly. The accuracy of sound control is much improved, and the low-frequency and mid-frequency transient performance are more delicate and precise.

They feature a 5.5" aluminum woofer and horn loaded ribbon tweeter with active crossovers all powered by high quality class D amplifier biamplified. hi, I have been using the S1000DB for almost 3 years now. They are good speaker and I have plan on upgrading. At the moment not sure about which speaker or setup should i look into. I do like the idea of having an active speaker. Although I wish the S1000DB have more punch on the bass but again not all the time I need the bass that much.

Budget will be around 4k for everything.

what would be the ideal upgrades.

appreciate all comments.

Can i add a subwoofer to my a300?

It’s a suprisingly underwhelming experience for me when i got the a300. But i’m used to listening to harbeth’s speaker so don’t think a300 is bad, just not great.

Plan to hook a cheaper sub such as Kef Kube b12, can you confirm/share how do i pair these 2 up?

You can but the only way I know how to involves sacrificing the bluetooth and volume control function of the speaker and it only works with RCA inputs

If you're saying you wanna use KEF Kube b12 then you'll need
- a method to control volume for both speaker and sub (It could be a TV remote volume, PC volume, or an external DAC with volume control)
- two RCA Y-splitter to split your signal to your edifier and your subwoofer

Here's a rough image I found online on how it's connected
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

That way you set both speaker and subwoofer volume to blend up to your taste, leave the volume setting and use your source as master volume to control both simultaneously.

I would recommend Edifier's own T5 subwoofer instead for a low budget sub since it has an RCA line out included so you can skip the y split and use the subwoofer line out instead as the splitter.
You will still need a way to control volume for both sub and speaker

Hope it helps notworthy.gif

Thanks and it helped immensely as i’m really confused in adding a sub wiring.

My setup currently: a300 is connected to a TV, the audio input source is the TV itself via optical cable.

Does it mean that if i use edifier’s t5 (since it has RCA lineout), i can just plug the subwoofer via RCA directly into my speakers and it would work? (Ie. Sub RCA into Speaker’s RCA?)

My only worry is t5 will not give the desired punch sad.gif It’s for a living room.

It sounds too complicated for me still to pair the a300 & kube b12, as my main volume control with this setup is via the a300 remote control.

KEF connection is limited to RCA in only. If you worry about the impact, with almost similar budget of KEF you can check SVS PB1000. You can do RCA input to SUB and RCA output from SUB to your active.

KEF 12B is a 12 inch sub vs SVS 10 inch but if you check their frequency range.. SVS PB1000 can dip lower and go higher freq (good for movies). If you prefer a seal sub (better for music), you can consider SVS SB1000 also.

vol control still is an issue because we are using RCA line output here.

Me too, from Dynaudio Floorstander to A300, feel less dynamic & not enough bass sad.gif . May be need preamp/receiver from source to A300 & Sub. I had Mirage sub from my HT.

I feel bad for still not really understanding it hah.

Does it mean: i should use my TV rca cable, to plug into svs pb1000 first? And then use another rca cable to connect the sub & a300?

I still don’t get it about the vol control but i think i’ll worry about it later as long as i know it’s not wasting $ to get a sub to pair with a300.

Thanks, very useful infos!

yes if you tv support for RCA out then easy.. u can just connect RCA to subwoofer and rca from sub to a300.
but most modern tv had remove rca out option

vol control u only can control for a300.. u cant control ur sub vol.. it has to be done manually still

Some TV has headphone out also. I think most modern TV already remove RCA but still keeping headphone out as an option.

Just check your tv before planning anything. If it's headphone out then you should be able to control volume with your tv remote.

Sounds quality wise how does A80 stack up against s2000 mk3?
Looking to pull the trigger on 1 of these for my desktop PC. Replacing my 10+years s330d, been with me since college
If both comparable I'll go for A80 due to it's size and aesthetic

If your tv dont have rca out, you can try this

TV > optical cable > DAC with preamp > rca cable > Subwoofer > rca cable > Edifier A300

Some dac have remote control function so you can control the volume of sub and speaker using 1 remote only.

I got my A100 pretty cheap from 11 Nov sale (Less than 1.7k - brand new), so I got the chance to risk/test it. Need another pair of speaker for small living room anyway.

This speakers is producing Balance and Clean sound (It capable to have very tight and wide bass depends type of music source you play), is different from S3000Pro signature, if you interested to know the different .

S3000Pro is exciting for overall use, A100 is a sound separation expert and you can't say the bass is not enough because i can get the similarity rumble low signature from s3000pro (depends how you position the speaker - how near to wall and how wide between the speakers. - I spent few days just to get it right.

A100 sound very clean, good separation and balance (is a good thing for music listening) and particular what hardware and music source you play, this is what I've tested with..

1. Dac (Optical/RCA/Bluetooth input)
2. Direct Bluetooth (iPhone/Samsung Note10+/iMac/Window 10 laptop and PC)
3. USB to USB direct (Nvidia shield Pro - Android)
4. Optical direct (Nvidia shield Pro - Android / Dac)

Result for connection type - This result came out surprisingly huge gap between connection source, kinda sad but it shine when using the right one so I'm glad because I really enjoy every bit of it. The sound is bigger and wider than it looks. I can move it down to bigger hall with it now.

1. USB and Optical - 5/5
- Best and only option to maximise the potential with enjoyable level.

2. Bluetooth - 3/5
- Best go with Android and Window devices. Sound doesn't right with Apple devices.

3. RCA - 1/5
- The fact is I thought it will be straight forward from the Dac(s) source but somehow the speaker did something internally which I don't understand (It has built in Dac and Amp) - it does sound flat, or maybe I done not enough test... who's know.

My final setup for the speakers.

Using Nvidia Shield Pro as a direct streaming media > HDMI > TV
Using Nvidia Shield Pro as a direct streaming media > USB > A100
Using in-apps Tidal (MASTER capable/on board Apps) / Spotify (Shield Direct/Cast/On board Apps) / Plex / Neflix / HBOmax / HULU / Disney+
With this setup I able to cast with any device including Android/Apples/Windows + Google assistance devices for Volume/PlayStop/Next/Back/What song and which apps to play.

Conclusion.
This is a good pair for entry level audiophile pair of speakers for music and not really suitable for movie - If you compare with speaker systems with center piece or sound bar. But it doesn't mean bad, you need to do lots of setup in your media player, for example Nvidia Shield and make sure is purely Stereo output only.

On computer desk use, no problem at all! As long as you don't mind the size.

Cheers.

How do you feel the difference on treble and female voice for both? Since 1 is using planar while another is ribbon.
For bass I assume you mean both sound the same? But A100 need some placement fine tune to get the same bass? If just put same place to S3000pro, how does A100 bass sound like?

Personally i do prefer A100 female vocal voice because it well refine.
S3000pro seems easier for me to position it and the bass definitely bigger and exciting than A100, as for A100 i did place nearer to the wall to get tighter wider bass. First i wish they're same but 5" and 6.5" seems like not logical... hahaha

l actually love both of them and A100 have very clean sound and the design i like.

same A100 owner here been using for months, with add on yamaha 10 inch subwoofer, A100 sound really transparent clean and clear. im using with pc sound card (creative AE-5 sound card) through the RCA connector, if use optical vs rca for my case the rca sound way more better. hmm.gif
yeah the positioning of this speaker really makes a big difference to the sound tho (back wall side wall etc) especially the bass differences.

i love the active power thumbup.gif . any chance the speaker can be bought individually instead of a pair? most "pro" active speakers are sold individually. being able to buy just 1 unit is great, especially for home theater center speaker.

depends on your connection.. if you are using RCA connection then no.. if you are using digital input / USB then you have to rely on the speaker DAC to do the job for you

I just got myself an A80 end of last month. It's good. Small and compact. The vocals are clear and nice. Good value at that price range. Would have loved to get the A300 but space is an issue since I want to place it next to my display. Would be better if there is an option to add a subwoofer to it.

If connecting via RCA, can just swap the RCA left and right. If Bluetooth, then you will need to install 3rd party app. No default feature in android or windows to reverse the left and right channels.

Or get extension cable for the main unit. Some wireless speakers have settings to set which one is left and right channel, unfortunately this one is not one of it.

But you need to buy separate Y RCA cable for T5 as cable not included.

Yeah, I bought a subwoofer for the airpulse. Didn't have the patience to wait for online purchase so I bought a Polk Audio subwoofer to go with the A80. Now the bass is much better. thumbup.gif

11.11 haul? laugh.gif

It does look same RCA port. I think it got 2 RCA for in case using stereo output. Yo can try just use any 1 RCA from A100 to T5.

How's the treble sound on A100? Cymbal or guitar picking sound like really there?

Tested S3000Pro and A300Pro side by side

High & Mid: A300Pro is more natural and easy to listen the ears. The sound of S3000Pro is airy, very good at high but slightly weaker on mid(vocal).

Bass: A300Pro can go deeper bass than S3000Pro, even though A300Pro specs stated 40-40khz (s3000pro:38-40khz). A300Pro has slightly tighter and cleaner bass. S3000Pro still has very good bass and still beat most of the bookshelf speakers twice of its price. The treble and bass control on A300Pro remote control allows amplification of bass for movie watching. Both speakers can output bass below 40hz, will be surprised at how low the bass go down.

Size: A300Pro is ~25% bigger than S3000Pro

Conclusion: S3000Pro is already good enough for music, movies

For highs only, how much difference between both? Sounds like cymbal, does it sound sharp and crisp?
I was considering between S3000Pro and A300. A300Pro is double the price than S3000Pro. sweat.gif

I use usb connection too. I was wondering if I should invest in a combo (dac + pre amp), like topping d90se and topping a 90, and use balanced connection.
This will improve the sound quality?

If using balanced connection, you are getting better sound quality from improved input sensitivity. You can google "a300pro frequency response" chart, use (windows) Equalizer APO to fine tune the sound to your preference.

In windows, Speakers Property -> Advanced -> Default Format -> change to 24bit

DAC + pre amp is audiophile thing, A300pro itself already got a good dac. Not sure if you need it. I think it's just a waste of energy and creating unnecessary heat

Input sensitivity
Balance: 1100±50mV,
Unbalance: AUX: 700±50mV,
USB:550±50mFFs
Optical: 500±50mFFs
Coaxial: 500±50mFFs, Bluetooth:500±50mFFs

Ya I also agree you don't need DAC + pre amp since already have digital connection from source to speaker.

The SM200 loudspeaker from AIRPULSE features its unique "horn-loaded ribbon tweeter", based on the company's original 7001 speaker design. The tweeter utilizes an ultra-thin, pure aluminum ribbon diaphragm, with a thickness of only 0.0005 inches, or 0.0127 millimeters. This delicate ribbon, for comparison, is about 10 times finer than the average diameter of a human hair, which is approximately 0.1 millimeter.

The ribbon functions as both the voice-coil and the diaphragm in this tweeter, generating sound waves by vibrating in an extremely high magnetic flux created by Neodymium Iron Boron magnets on either side. This high-precision design delivers high sensitivity, superior transient response, wide frequency extension, and excellent resolution. The result is a rich and faithful reproduction of all details in the sound.

The unique horn-shaped design optimizes dispersion. Sound reaches the audience directly, reducing the impact of environmental interference, making the sound image more three-dimensional, clearer, and more natural, truthfully reproducing the content of the recording without any loss.
