@Edifier I have been using s360DB for a year now.  interested to move forward to Airpulse,   how much difference in sound signature of 360 compared to a80 or a100...

Also since 3s60 have a subwoofer, should I move up to s200 or 300 instead?

360db if hear long actually overall the Equalizer is very V shape, as u twist the volume knob more louder the V shape is more aubible... most of the 2.1 speakers does sound like this. after long time u own it u will always missing a hole in the sound spectrum which is the mids. Highs and Lows always punching out overpowering the Mids, mostly will suffers especially in watching movies hard to hear clear the actors speech/vocals. And if u turn off the S360DB subwoofer after the bass directed to the 2 satellites and if u play it loud the distortion is very obvious, buzzing vocal with mixture of bass and sound is not clear anymore...

my bet is that just for comparison i simply choose the edifier T5 subwoofer because very similar to S360db (S360db subwoofer 75w, T5 subwoofer 70w)

A80 + Edifier T5 subwoofer = (low/mids/highs) sure beat S360db (add up cost around rm2600 +/-)

A100 + Edifier T5 subwoofer = (low/mids/high) sure win S360db (add up cost around rm3400 +/-)

A200 dont have subwoofer output (unless u bypass through another middle source/amp with sub output), so around 40hz to 50hz low probably will loose to S360DB but mids and high sure handles better more clear

A300 also same dont have subwoofer output jack no matter how u pump it the certain Lows' frequency sure loose to the S360db 8 inch woofer elastic bass..but mids and high super satisfying

By the way A80 & A100 seems like the main difference is the mid woofer driver design/size, A80 woofer build is overhung design, A100 woofer is underhung design (as well as A200/A300 woofer also is underhung) underhung speakers build cost more expensive than overhung. A80 & A100 horn ribbon tweeters were exactly the same type, wattage also same which is 10w, same as woofer also both is 40w. A80 is 4.5 inch woofer driver where else A100 is slightly larger 5 inch driver...

hey bro, i bought airpulse A100 already and a Yamaha 10 inch subwoofer model NS-SW300 (rm1400), the sound is very great very matching crossover slope!

at the subwoofer High-cut i set to 70hz and volume knob at about 10:30 o'clock position.

if can don't get 12 inch sub for these A100 speakers might have a sound hole or over powered it because A100 i tested in my room (my room is small about 6 x 8 meters) and i do a bass frequency sweep test, about 80hz start and below the A100 bass starts to drop already, listening by ears, but it also depends on your listening position because my position is middle of room, if ur listening position is at the end of the wall then it is very audible bass even around 70hz it will be shallow but audible....

i simply use this youtube sample for bass sweep test
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJ6Hc3zH5KE

even though the specs written is 52hz - 40khz but in real scenario for my case my room listening it starts about 75hz and bove is more audible (can feel the sound), and my subwoofer starts to kick in louder around 83hz and below, by my ears listening close...... i believe my room is consider very small already if your room is bigger A100 gonna be more loud audible maybe around 80hz and above (mileage might be vary depends on your listening position and subwoofer placement).

i set all the volume is very balance almost can't feel the subwoofer is there when listening music but can feels the vibrations overall from my seats, it feels like the bass is coming out from the both channel of the A100, i prefer like this, if volume up the sub abit higher can feel too much bass coming from that subwoofer direction covering the A100 speakers.

ignore my messy room stuffs tongue.gif

same A100 owner here been using for months, with add on yamaha 10 inch subwoofer, A100 sound really transparent clean and clear. im using with pc sound card (creative AE-5 sound card) through the RCA connector, if use optical vs rca for my case the rca sound way more better. hmm.gif
yeah the positioning of this speaker really makes a big difference to the sound tho (back wall side wall etc) especially the bass differences.
