Someone posted just only 9800x3d + x870e buy costing rm4300+. CPU & mobo only. That was the price of my whole midrange system bought 2 years ago LOL! PC building is becoming T15 hobby now haha

China isnt the problem. Trump 2.0 tariffs effectively covers Taiwan as well (where majority of PC hardware comes).

You forget that whatever tariffs will then reflect on US MSRP prices which will in turn set the global price of hardware. If MSRP goes up, global prices goes up, then local prices will also go up.

LOL no we dont. We get hardware from regional distros which gets from the factory, these distros can be in SG, in China, in HK, or whichever suits their logistics but defo we do not get direct from China factory unless your buying via Ali/TB.

Even in China, retail pricing is nowhere close to cost prices rather it also follows global pricing structure which in turns get influenced by US MSRP. In other words, even if Made in China, come from China, store in China, distro locally in China, sold in China to Chinese buyers, the China MSRP prices arent cheaper than USA.

Case in point 7900 GRE.

Originally launch in China was MSRP $650 (or RM 4733) https://www.techspot.com/review/2721-amd-radeon-7900-gre/ it was later respinned for USA & global market at MSRP $549 (RM 2590) https://www.lowyat.net/2024/321789/sapphire...900-gre-review/ but when reach Msia shores were ady looking at local MSRP of RM 3199 https://pokde.net/review/sapphire-pulse-rad...7900-gre-review , so if that logic stands either locally we should have be seeing China MSRP (RM 4733) or global MSRP (RM 2590) none of which happen, reality is somewhere in between. Thus our local pricing will always be global MSRP + local markups. If global MSRP goes up due to tariffs, so too will our local prices.

Doesnt China prices also consider taxes & shipping too? If thats the case, US MSRP should have been higher than China MSRP but reality is opposite. Mind you, global MSRP also counted shipping to until retailers included. So global MSRP will cover shipping charge until our local retailers as well. All these prices are relative.

Hi all need some advice, it's been awhile since my last upgrade and lost track with the specs. im looking for RAM upgrade, motherboard MSI z370 gaming plus. intel i7 8700K
my ram now:
HX426C16FB2/8 KINGSTON HYPERX FURY BLACK 8GB  DDR4 2666MHZ (2x, total 16 GB)

It's hitting the wall for awhile now, especially opening multiple browsers and IDE, and many others app, it just can't sustain. I'm thinking to max out to 64GB so to prolong the life span for this PC until my full system upgrade.

Will this cosair ram kit fit my pc? 64GB 3600mhz, i think will just go with 3600mhz since it's only RM12 difference.

With that much money wait another 1-2 months for 9950X3D with dual CCD cache will tapau current CPU king 9800x3d plus 5090 will tapau current GPU king 4090. RM 21k will be enough kua

9950X3D will beat 9800x3d in games and 14900K in workloads. Total king.

9950X3D might likely have 3D cache on BOTH CCD so it doesnt matter which CCD its using it will be faster if games able to leverage the 2nd CCD with 3D cache
