Alamak, maybe I should wait for 12.12 then, not in a rush till Monster Hunter Wilds release.

Thanks for the recommendation sifu!
*
But you have to buy part by part and assemble. Lookout for payday sale too. Some parts are much cheaper on Lazada or Shopee.

Thank you!

Next gen is crap. 9800X3D shortage. Recommendation did not change. Got price drop with the parts as well.

Unfortunately, dual CCD increase latency. 9800X3d still wins in gaming. Might have issues with "don't know which CCD got X3D" too.

I got so agitated with the pricing. I stopped looking at upgrades. Especially the motherboards.

Someone posted just only 9800x3d + x870e buy costing rm4300+. CPU & mobo only. That was the price of my whole midrange system bought 2 years ago LOL! PC building is becoming T15 hobby now haha
*
Yeah, I would want at least 50% boost from the CPU to justify mad prices from the motherboard. And looks like Intel locks a lot of things on Arrow Lake as well. Overclocking becoming a fail.

China isnt the problem. Trump 2.0 tariffs effectively covers Taiwan as well (where majority of PC hardware comes).
*
I think Trump tariff is none of our business. Just goods going to USA.

You forget that whatever tariffs will then reflect on US MSRP prices which will in turn set the global price of hardware. If MSRP goes up, global prices goes up, then local prices will also go up.
*
We get goods directly from China factories. In reality, no tariffs. You must be insane sending it to USA first. And to charge us with USA tariff. They gonna lose a lot. Prices are already insane.

Trump is just salty that they can't sell their products cheap. Thats why tariff comes in. Trying to "protect" their own companies probably gonna be a backfire. Living cost going to go even higher for them. Trump threatens BRICS countries 100% tariffs as well. Good luck. That will make people avoid the dollar even more.

LOL no we dont. We get hardware from regional distros which gets from the factory, these distros can be in SG, in China, in HK, or whichever suits their logistics but defo we do not get direct from China factory unless your buying via Ali/TB.

Even in China, retail pricing is nowhere close to cost prices rather it also follows global pricing structure which in turns get influenced by US MSRP. In other words, even if Made in China, come from China, store in China, distro locally in China, sold in China to Chinese buyers, the China MSRP prices arent cheaper than USA.

Case in point 7900 GRE.

Originally launch in China was MSRP $650 (or RM 4733) https://www.techspot.com/review/2721-amd-radeon-7900-gre/ it was later respinned for USA & global market at MSRP $549 (RM 2590) https://www.lowyat.net/2024/321789/sapphire...900-gre-review/ but when reach Msia shores were ady looking at local MSRP of RM 3199 https://pokde.net/review/sapphire-pulse-rad...7900-gre-review , so if that logic stands either locally we should have be seeing China MSRP (RM 4733) or global MSRP (RM 2590) none of which happen, reality is somewhere in between. Thus our local pricing will always be global MSRP + local markups. If global MSRP goes up due to tariffs, so too will our local prices.
*
You are forgetting our own 10% tax and 6-8% SST. Also, shipping is not cheap.

Doesnt China prices also consider taxes & shipping too? If thats the case, US MSRP should have been higher than China MSRP but reality is opposite. Mind you, global MSRP also counted shipping to until retailers included. So global MSRP will cover shipping charge until our local retailers as well. All these prices are relative.
*
There is one more factor too. The greed of our distributors. Brands like Asus made it too obvious.

Cross post:
Hi all need some advice, it's been awhile since my last upgrade and lost track with the specs. im looking for RAM upgrade, motherboard MSI z370 gaming plus. intel i7 8700K
my ram now:
HX426C16FB2/8 KINGSTON HYPERX FURY BLACK 8GB  DDR4 2666MHZ (2x, total 16 GB)

It's hitting the wall for awhile now, especially opening multiple browsers and IDE, and many others app, it just can't sustain. I'm thinking to max out to 64GB so to prolong the life span for this PC until my full system upgrade.

Will this cosair ram kit fit my pc? 64GB 3600mhz, i think will just go with 3600mhz since it's only RM12 difference.
https://shopee.com.my/CORSAIR-Vengeance-LPX...53-df5143f5edd0

or this kingston fury, 32gb x2, but it looks like it's compatible with ryzen? will it also compatible with intel? this one seems cheaper like RM100+ cheaper
Model: KF432C16BB/32

RAM Compatibility from MSI website

There are so many DDR4 ram on the market, which one you guys recommend that is reliable and bang for the buck?

It says can do two sticks of 32GB DDR4-3600 CL18 (Micron E die). Make sure you buy exact model and update your BIOS first.

Unfortunately 9800X3D is the best gaming CPU right now.

If you really want Intel, you can go for 48GB DDR5-8000 kit (8000 is not guaranteed, most likely 7200) at RM1499 from Shopee.

Worse than 9800X3D on many games. But once you do heavy CPU work, i9 wins.

With that much money wait another 1-2 months for 9950X3D with dual CCD cache will tapau current CPU king 9800x3d plus 5090 will tapau current GPU king 4090. RM 21k will be enough kua

9950X3D will beat 9800x3d in games and 14900K in workloads. Total king.
*
Nope. Dual CCD increased latency hurts gaming performance. And it might have to deal with "don't know which CCD got X3D".

9950X3D might likely have 3D cache on BOTH CCD so it doesnt matter which CCD its using it will be faster if games able to leverage the 2nd CCD with 3D cache
https://www.techpowerup.com/327057/amd-ryze...th-ccd-chiplets

And its a performance monster, easily the new king
https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-components/...test-gaming-cpu

There is more rumors that it has only one CCD with X3D.

They are trying to sell you overpriced stuffs.

Cooler (Lian Li Galahad II will laugh at it with cheaper price) , RTX 4090 (Paying RM2k Asus tax for slightly more performance?) , questionable RAM that doesn't tell you CAS Latency (CL), SSD (you can get KC3000 2TB for less money), casing (Lancool III is cheaper).
