QUOTE(rave_merah @ Dec 30 2023, 07:00 PM) Hello All, When there is Cyberpunk 2077. Even RTX 4090 is not good enough to max it at 4k. Wait for 4070 Ti Super or 4080 Super next month and watch the prices. My cpu and mobo just got fried, not sure why :'l. 5900x and X570 Aurous Master. Sadge. Will try to RMA the cpu but in the meantime looking for replacement. Current setup that will be reused : 32GB DDR4 RAM RTX 2070 650W EVGA Supernova Gold+ 360mm AIO SSDs and all peripherals. I'm also looking to upgrade my gpu to handle some light 4K gaming on my 4K TV and sell the 2070 and upgrade the gpu too. Is RM6-7k for mobo, cpu, gpu and psu reasonable? Is it worth to ditch my ddr4 Rams and switch to am5? *edit- forgot to add purpose* Games like Cyberpunk 2077, Assasins Creed franchise, other AAA single player games, Path of Exile, CS2, Valorant etc2.. Would also like to try to have a stream capable setup if possible. Thank you. |

Bare in mind RTX 4070 Super is coming. I would advise waiting for the availability before buying. It may offer better price / performance.

QUOTE(theartnet @ Jan 6 2024, 11:06 AM) Just want to update here everything went well! setup took like 4-5 hours cos 1st time changing all the wires from PSU..especially the 24 pin was hard to pull out Grats. Dual channel RAM also significantly reduce the stutters as well.Without changing cpu+motherboard, so far still works very nice. maybe ill come back in a couple months to ask back recommendation Couldn't find a screw to put the ssd in place, then found forums to 'leverage' casio calculator back screw and it did the trick lol Now HZD is going 70+fps with high setting, i then checked the vsync button to make it less teary edit: wanted to add changing the game install folder from previously HDD to this m.2 SSD really changed the loading times (didnt actually count but felt at least 2-3x faster) dam big diff for me man ![]() theartnet liked this post

Two of my Samsung 2333SW died within warranty period. Got it back. Screen turned yellow after warranty ends. Samsung reliability is questionable.
Dell U2414H also died after 5 years warranty. Its just luck....... |

QUOTE(corad @ Jan 8 2024, 05:49 PM) current monitor is Dell 2413, 1920 x 1080. Game setting high, never tried RT so probably don't need it. FPS above 30. Sadly, very few ITX motherboards. Fractal Terra also extremely limits CPU cooling. I guess the only thing I play that could max things out is Flight Simulator (2020) thanks guys, I'm actually coming from a BitFenix Prodigy, which was the case I got when I first built it 10 years or so ago. Problem with cheap case I found that they don't last, the Prodigy leg broke about 5 years in when I pressed the power button. Been using a cheapo generic case since then. is it just the motherboard that is itx specific ? Try this Core i7-13700K - 1899 (price of i7-13700 is disappointing. Might as well get the K or 14700K) EK AIO 240 D-RGB + LGA 1700 kit - 298 + 19 MSI Z790i Edge Wifi (triple M.2 slots) - 1569 (Remember to power limit it. Not enough cooling) Corsair Vengeance 32GB DDR5-7200 kit - 839 Gigabyte RTX 4070 Windforce - 2755 Kingston KC3000 1TB - 447 Cooler Master V 850W SFX - 699 Lian Li A4-H2O - 639 RM9164 total (Shopee prices) RTX Super is coming. You might wanna hold out on the graphic card. Unfortunately, RAM and SSD Prices are going up very fast. You can go with 280mm AIO on Lian Li PC-Q58 but the size is about 15L. A4-H2O about 12L. QUOTE(calvincty @ Jan 20 2024, 06:20 PM) Just built a pc with R5 5600, 32gb and 6600xt to replace my Mac mini m2 pro 32G as the new job need a windows and also plan for light gaming Zen 3 is behind Intel Alder Lake and AMD Ryzen 7000. On top of that, you have only 6 cores to do so many things. M2 got 4 P and 4 E cores. However, I do feel the current pc experience for my daily productivity wasn’t up on par with the Mac experience. Overall feeling sluggish in switching multiple browsers tab and documents/video playing. Not to say very slow but it just doesn’t feel as smooth as Mac. Thinking whether it is the hardware or OS issues, if it is the hardware I’m thinking to upgrade the cpu to 5900x for more cores to help. If that’s the case, what’s the recommended cooler for 5900x? 5900X will need the best cooler you can get. Thermalright Phantom Spirit if you wanna save a bit.
