MHWilds quite demanding with the CPU. Try

Ryzen 7 7700 - 1045 (Shopee)
Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE - 114 (Shopee)
MSI B850 Gaming Plus - 1012 (Shopee)
Acer Predator Pallas II 32GB DDR5-6000 CL30 kit - 500 (Shopee)
Gigabyte RTX 5060 TI 16GB Windforce (ignore the 8GB) - 2155 (Shopee)
Kingston KC3000 1TB - 347 (Shopee)
FSP Vita GM 850W - 481 (Shopee)
Lian Li Lancool 207 case - 349 (Shopee)

RM6003 total

RX 9070 16GB at RM2.9k....
*
6K and a 5060Ti looks a bit wrong sweat.gif

Some refinements:

Ryzen 5 7500F - RM607
Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE - RM114
MSI B650M Gaming Plus WiFi - RM604
Corsair Vengeance RGB 2x16GB DDR5 6000 - RM493
ASRock RX9070 Challenger 16GB - RM3175
Kingston KC3000 1TB - RM347
FSP Vita GM 850 - RM481
Lian Li Lancool 207 - RM349

Total: RM6170

Much faster GPU, and if TS is okay with lower VRAM then consider swapping the GPU to a 5070 instead icon_idea.gif
Tip: you might want to survey a few physical shops for GPU prices, especially when Lazada/Shopee searches are very unreliable sweat.gif

Sure, if you want to spend even more time saving more. But do people have that patience? Did you see me asking people buy RTX 5090 when people shopping for RTX 4060? Once again, I will not recommend and help Nvidia selling garbage 8GB on the year 2025. Don't wanna feed their greed. Saving cost on 4GB VRAM and still selling high price is not something you want. Remember 3060 12GB, or Arc B580 12GB? Once you start hitting 8GB wall more often, you have to buy another graphic card again. Thats even more expensive.
*
Even if a game runs well on 8GB VRAM, you'll end up with lots of compromises like texture pop-ins and automatic reduction of texture quality, which is a big no-no, as evidenced by outlets like Hardware Unboxed icon_idea.gif
8GB might be fine for lower end titles, but Nvidia along with AMD is marketing them as a AAA card, which is pretty bad and is borderline misleading sweat.gif

MHWilds will 100% 6 core CPUs.
*
Yes, but the performance improvement seems to be rather small, around 10 min FPS with a 5090 on 1080p (which is an unrealistic scenario) icon_idea.gif
So I don't think it's worth that much to go 8 cores IMHO icon_idea.gif

Within 5k is good actually.

Just running through the prices
9070xt rm3.8k+ ngdp gold psu 850w rm400
5070ti rm4.3k
9070 rm3.2k
5060ti 16gb 2.4k

the other option doesn't require a psu upgrade?
*
IINM A RX9070XT costs around RM3499-RM3599, so the pricing on the 9070XT is likely to be the higher end model icon_idea.gif
I once saw an ASRock 9070 for about RM2.9K, but seems like it's sold out sweat.gif
The 5060 Ti pricing is rather terrible especially you can get something like a RTX5070 for around RM2.6K which is a much faster card (couldn't recall what AIB though) icon_idea.gif

If you intend to keep the PSU, the best choice out there is the 9070 (220W TDP). which is not much higher than your 3060 Ti icon_idea.gif

Asus VY279HF - RM449

Doesnt even have displayport....

Another option, buy a used one from office liquidation, but buy with caution icon_idea.gif

4k resolution is very demanding. Even RTX 5090 will struggle at ultra settings. RTX 5060 Ti 16GB or RX 9060 XT 16GB is entry level 1440p card.
*
Again, you do not even need Ultra settings for games, as they tend to offer minimal visual quality improvements at the vast expense of performance loss icon_idea.gif
If you know your graphical settings you can get 4K gaming on a fairly modest GPU - see Digital Foundry for an example icon_idea.gif

This card also another contender if your CPU is AMD 7000 or Intel 14th gen or better. Mid month sale is on.

[attachmentid=11514732]

You can delete 8GB cards from your list.
*
Nice, but do bear in mind that 14th gen locked CPUs are essentially 12th gen chips with E cores bolted on so they are not much faster than 12th gen in terms of gaming icon_idea.gif
Note the CPU performance overhead however:

https://youtu.be/00GmwHIJuJY?t=443 (see the poor 1% lows of the B580, and modern games are super demanding on the CPU)

Certainly better than what the competition offers though icon_idea.gif

MHWilds and video processing loves CPU cores. Budget isnt great.

Core Ultra 7 265K - 1310
Thermalright Royal Pretor 130 - 213
MSI Z890-P Wifi - 1143
Acer Predator Pallas II 32GB DDR5-6000 CL30 kit - 500 (Shopee)
FSP Vita GD 750W - 349
Lian Li Lancool 207 case - 349

RM3864 total
*
At that point I'd just go with a 14700K - the 265K gaming performance is quite a bit slower than the 14700, and that's with expensive DDR5 7200/8000 memory sweat.gif

I just bought one for like RM1099 bundle free - a bit overpriced, but it is in stock at a local store and I don't want to wait too long for shipping sweat.gif
Anyway, what would be a nice air cooler for my new CPU? hmm.gif

DDR4 prices have going up in the global market, expect the increase to come soon if not here already.

Lucky Im all filled up with 4x sticks.

For system recos, I guess its time to ditch DDR4 based builds.
*
That's pretty normal - you can also see this during the transition from DDR3 -> DDR4 icon_idea.gif
After all, when supply is low and demand is high enough the prices will naturally go up icon_idea.gif

Need advice on office PC. something good that will last another 5 years.
No games.
usage mostly online, emails. word. excel. little bit of light Photoshop.

Current pc.
Intel G5400
Asrock H310m-hdv
kingston DDR4 8gb

It served me well, but now its about to kaput. Takes a minute to load Chrome browser let alone Adobe Reader.

Currently thinking of this new build.
I5 12400
MSI PRO B760M-E DDR5 or should i stick with DDR4?
Kingston fury DDR5 black 8gbx2
Kingston KC3000 1TB
PSU ??
Case ??

I need recommendation on PSU and Casing as i would be using back an old WD HDD as storage.
*
If you are willing to deal with the idiosyncrasies of the Mac ecosystem (especially with its high memory/storage upgrade prices) this Mac Mini M4 is actually not bad:
https://www.apple.com/my/shop/buy-mac/mac-mini

The M4 is a much faster and efficient chip when compared with most x86 chips offer right now, and its very high single threaded performance will make a difference in everyday use icon_idea.gif

That being said however, if you prefer Wintel, the aforementioned build should do the trick, but I'd recommend going DDR5 as DDR4 prices are on the rise (DRAM producers are lowering production of DDR4 chips in favor with DDR5) icon_idea.gif
