AMD has herald the continuing stagnation of CPU development https://www.guru3d.com/news-story/amd-ryzen...lot-faster.html
Core count continue to remain at maxed 8 big cores. Intel MTL will regress to 6 Pcores and return back to a full 8 Pcores config in ARL gen. So both AMD & Intel will remain at maxed 8 big cores in the next few years or more. Which is something that I have recommend, if ur budget for a new CPU go for 8 big cores ie i7 or R7 family and you will probably never need to upgrade CPU again unless ur speed bound. |

QUOTE(SyriuS @ May 18 2023, 09:00 PM) First off, thanks for the feedback and suggested build so far based on the 4070 and Lian li A4H20 Able to fit is one thing, not making it choke for air is another. If ur going for a 4080 build, my suggestion is ditch the ITX/SFX idea and go for MATX minitower box preferably with high airflow. Could be something like CM MasterBox Q300L with 4 PCIE slots so able to fit the triple slotted 4080 and still have some space to breathe.I'm now considering a miniITX built around a 4080 for Diablo 4 4k maxed out with Ray Tracing. (D4 is the only game I play) Exploring but open to other suggestions: Case: DAN C4-SFX (14.7l) that can fit 4080s Monitor: Dell G3223Q Monitor Preferences: CPU: Intel Asus/Gigabyte Would really like to keep at <15 liters if possible. Appreciate miniITX build suggestions. |

QUOTE(adamtayy @ May 19 2023, 08:55 AM) Why recommend something so old? DDR3 is like 2 generations and 10 years old tech from today. And any system built with such a setup might not be compatible with Win11. As seller pls oso be reasonable to those you sell lah. |

QUOTE(adamtayy @ May 19 2023, 10:39 AM) I want to believe that ur company is legit and selling new hardware at reasonable prices and not some shady shop run by Pakis try to push outdated stuff onto unsuspecting people. But if ur trying to push 10 year old tech to someone who could afford for RTX4080 then ur better relook ur marketing skills. |

QUOTE(jurkflash @ May 22 2023, 10:56 AM) Hi all, need some advises.. Why Z series for a nonK CPU? If just the wifi, then can get MSI Pro B760M-A Wifi- for software development, will runs VM and future do on data processing/machine learning - need wifi - focus performance/productive/lower noise. *i7 13700(with igpu) *G.SKILL trident z5 DDR5 32GB *GIGABYTE Z790 UD AX(16+1+1 VRM/4xDDR5 7600/2.5GE LAN/AMD Wi-Fi 6E RZ616+BT V5.2) *ANTEC HCG GOLD 850W *Solidigm P41 1TB NVME SSD *Cooler: wanted AIO as i prefer lower noise and cooler because room not really airy unless switch on aircon. however i'm worry the leaking and of course AIO is pricy, little research is you guys recommend scytheus mugen-5-revc? any suggestion? *GPU skip, future will get one maybe 3060 *any suggestion for case? (no need rgb) certain spec above was quoted by idealtech, any suggestion from you guys? budget not more than 5.5k. Despite its heft, Mugen 5 dont perform much better than ID SE224XT https://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/9812/scyt...oler/index.html For Raptor i7 above, at least dual tower cooler and for ur whole day daily use case something like Thermalright Frost Commander FC140 will do fine. As for case, something with high airflow design since ur room isnt airy. Like Corsair 4000D or FD Meshify. If out of budget then cheap case like Tecware Nexus Air or Forge. QUOTE(myway1985 @ May 22 2023, 06:50 PM) If for working then its daily usage 8hrs a day somemore in non airy room condition, better to overkill on cooling. PA120 Ori is boleh lah ... Phantom Spirit 120 also a good middle between these 2. If OP cannot afford for FC140, this PS120 is doable. |

QUOTE(sexysarah1992 @ May 23 2023, 07:49 AM) Topkek. Its like buying a bmw and worrying what type of bolts they use for their engines. You do you, I do me. Why the hell u care about what controller they use? As long as they deliver the results! PS and yes I do care what airbags goes into my car, certainly not Takatas! QUOTE(jurkflash @ May 22 2023, 10:31 PM) hahaa.. thank you guys, this afternoon just settled with the rig and only manage to see adamtayy suggestion Fuma2 is a very competent & quiet cooler but as a dual tower its a bit underwhelming due to its slower moving silent fans, I saw reckons of max TDP to 160W so you might wanna be aware that when ur unlock PL2 limits as even nonK can draw up to 220W.basically maintained the list, except psu changed to corsair rm850. cooler went for fuma 2 rev.b. casing use antec dp503 *monkey_cover_eyes emoji* Case is spot on for high airflow. |

QUOTE(Dread90 @ May 23 2023, 08:53 AM) Than you for the suggestions but I had a look at the cases you mentioned but they dont seem to support 360mm aio in front of the case. Basically im looking for the best thermal possible on a small width case. Not specified but if it fits 3x120 fans it theoretically could fit a 360 AIO. Otherwise any standard ATX case is sure to fithttps://www.tecware.co/nexusair The Antec DP503 above is a lil bit bigger. This post has been edited by babylon52281: May 23 2023, 10:57 AM |

QUOTE(d3ck @ May 23 2023, 01:10 PM) I'm on tight budget for upgrade tbh due to PSU shortage burned my mobo/CPU. After some research, thus is my option. The usage mainly for movie before sleep, sometime editing software (PS, Ai), & light gaming (FIFA, CSGO, Sims). Since only RM 300 higher, then new is better. That used price not compelling. However if really no cash, then that used pun boleh lah, just kawkaw test within seller guarantee and even after that still got distro warranty at least.NEW i5 13500 - RM1200 MSI B760M-A Pro Wifi - RM659 NEW i5 12400F + MSI Pro B660M-A - RM1310 USED for 6 month with warranty i5 12400F + MSI Pro B660M-A - RM1000 Do you guys think it's worth to get new gen or should I settle with the used set since I'm no longer need resource demand? Do confirm ur GPU, RAM, SSD/HDD isnt affected tho. You dun wanna connect everything and later short again. d3ck liked this post

QUOTE(d3ck @ May 23 2023, 03:05 PM) Budget wise can stretch up to 13500 + B760M, but prefer to save some money for other. Also, spent more but underutilized later also wasting. I'll take your advice to get a new unit. Thank you Lightning kaa? Spare some of that budget and pls go get a UPS. Cheap single battery unit pun boleh lah.Yup my other parts tested okay. Just bought new PSU after lightning strike as I thought only PSU kaput. But after further check, mobo & CPU also gone. d3ck liked this post

QUOTE(d3ck @ May 23 2023, 04:38 PM) Ah. Saw the price of 13400 not so much different with 13500 that's why I'm not considering 13400 at all. Thanks. Will do further search on 13400f SP isnt foolproof. I had a Belkin unit that still passed surge thru. Now I have a UPS paired with that Belkin unit, with double protection no problems running during thunderstorms.Ya. Shit happen. Got my UPS already inside my mancave room. Move the PC inside my bedroom. Left the UPS there since other devices still connected to it. 4 years moving here never had any lightning strike, but 2 weeks moving my PC into my bedroom and it got fried. Hahaha Yup. Will get this as well on separate budget. Thanks |
