Very new with this android tv box.

Moving to a new house, just brought 4K UHD Smart TV. I'm a 9-5 worker, thus not a heavy TV watcher. Not a gamer either.

Now considering buying an android tv box, so i can avoid subscribe to Astro. Will subscribe with Unifi later.

My options:

1) Xiaomi Mi Box 3S
2) Minix Neo U9-H
3) A5X Max+

I read the thread and comment's for several pro and cons. Considering to buy A5X Max+, but hard to find a review for it. Moreover, most review say that i need more than 10mbps of wifi for smooth viewing.

Any advise is appreciate.

Except the 4k quality is way below if you play from TV. If you are not in 4K video, this xiaomi box is good, I use it for AOTG.

Hi. Need some advise/tips/etc. I'm trying to find which tv show apk has documentaries/shows like Nat Geo people, etc. Anyone knows any apks that has those shows?

Are these all free?

Is CHDV down...?

How about other player like mx-player and etc?

Which one do you feel is the best to use?

Hi guys, wanna ask is the CHDV working on only certain channels only? soooo many channels but seems that not all of them are working....

I searched for related key words that makes sense to me, like nat geo people, nat geo, etc. can't seem to find an answer/solution for me. Hence me posting this.
I have liveNet TV. It has a few pre-recorded documentaries, but not quite a lot. Don't seem to have Nat Geo People programmes (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nat_Geo_People#Programmes)
Don't mind me asking, does RedBox and CHDV have those programmes? If not, I won't bother installing those apps. I found some on youtube but not a lot. Also, youtube is not as nice to use compared to tv show apps

So I bought another box as mentioned last week. It's the Mecool M8S Pro L 3gb/32gb S912 with Android OS that came with the optional voice remote. To those intending the same, get the voice remote, it's worth it!

I must say is a very fast box with a refreshing UI. Installing apps was a breeze and faster compared to the last S912 box which I sold off.

There's plenty of video review available. Some apps I'd need to sideload but didn't encounter any problem

The usually Kodi, Terrarium, FreeFlix all installed smoothly. YouTube and Netflix plays in 4K.

As I just got the box this evening, will try to install other apps and try out.

So far I'm very impressed it and looks like it's gonna be the primary box replacing the Q16 Quad I've had for years.

Wife and kids love it so much especially the solid build voice remote

Guys, need some recommendations. I'm looking for an android box for my mom's house. Plan to use astro on the go & unifi app mainly.
Don't need a high-end box, something simple & reliable will do.

Would Mi Box (with Android TV) be a good fit or maybe an Amazon Fire TV stick?

I had a Minix U1 previously (already sold) that didn't work very well with the Astro app but I didn't really use it for that purpose so never bothered much about it. Would getting another Minix U1 be a good idea?

Do you have to do workarounds or do the apps just work?

Thanks, will consider the Mi Box as well as the Minix U1. Any good air mouse to recommend? I have only used the Minix A2 Lite before.

You mean instead of using the official astro & hypptv app we use the modded versions? Does it work well?

Should be very bad then. Let me try on that box to see how bad the quality is.
It's not important for that box to have these apps but why not?

Probably a coincidence that it's due for release soon. But at least they responded nicely and unlike TM. TM will tell you that your device is the problem    Hopefully, this service can be sufficient for those who want simple fuss free Asian content. Similarly to how Netflix is king in its category.
