As eastspring global leader wind off meeting going to held coming 16th April, anyone know can we still sell the fund after this date or we have to wait eastspring return our investment automatically only after they clear off all account statement after the wind off settle?

If not, we should sell our holding before 16th, right?

anyone have ideas on this?
*
my advise is Don't wait till 16 Apr ...for you money may be held till 19 July (early or later) as referenced in your email that they sent.....

"That the Manager be and is hereby authorised to terminate the trust in respect of the Fund and to wind up the Fund on 19 July 2018 or such other date as may be agreed upon between the Manager and the Trustee and that the Manager and the Trustee of the Fund shall be authorised to do all acts and things necessary to give effect to the termination in respect of the trust of the Fund and the winding up of the Fund."

"Upon winding up of this Fund, the termination proceeds will be paid to you
(i) via E-payment or (ii) via cheque which will be sent to you at the correspondence address.
For investments made under the EPF Members Investment Scheme, termination proceeds will be paid to the EPF to be credited into your EPF account.
Should you wish to switch to another fund, please contact your adviser before 16 April 2018."

to be sure read below advise....

Ponzi 2.0 benchmark is 8%pa (based on 3 yrs average)

if gives out 4% dividend pa. (right pocket out left pocket in)

since its inception in 2011 it had been making > the benchmark.

those that still believes in CIMB management team and are looking to park their EPF can try study more on this fund.....

So when does it stop being a correction and start being a crisis?

hmm.gif I would says it has the word "financial...."
the previous few one that I knew of is
Asia Financial crisis,
US subprime financial crisis
Euro bank debt financial crisis

now the only one possible one is the China shadow banking financial crisis....but with china's vast supplies of $$...I don't see it happening.....

yeah.. enter during bull time, most of the time my fund are in red. green for few days only.

believe in it is Long Term investment, no touching anything yet.. except the Eastspring global emerging.
is it i have sell the unit by now? or wait until 16April, will automatically transfer the $ to my account?
*
if possible, may I suggest that you transfer out now...for one does not know how long it will takes before the money are really automatically in your bank after the meeting on 16 Apr.......after the meeting, they need to audit the a/c, inform SC and trust custordian, processing etc etc....maybe 1 month later??

Notice that the NAV of this fund has varied between 0.22 and 0.40, about 80 %, compared to the higher performing
Kenanga Growth fund which fluctuated between 0.73 to 2.25, a change of over 200 %
*
hmm.gif ever wonder why the NAV growth variant so great but all the 3 risk rewards metrics does no show great variant?
what is more puzzling is that the 3 yrs volatility ratio of cimb is even higher than KGF even though the NAV of Cimb fluctuates lesser than KGF as pointed out above......

The tax deductions  from donations, EPF, life and medical insurance, PRS, etc,  are only worthwhile
or significant if you are in the higher tax brackets actually.

That's because they're basically reliefs to arrive at your statutory or chargeable
income, not rebates.

And in those brackets, your tax payable is
already so high, the savings are not much,
really.
*
confused.gif contradictory between these 2? One is worthwhile or significant while the other is not much really....

"The tax deductions from donations, EPF, life and medical insurance, PRS, etc, are only worthwhile or significant if you are in the higher tax brackets actually."

"And in those brackets, your tax payable is already so high, the savings are not much, really."

anyway....like pisces88 mentioned...."even if you are at 10% tax rate, u still save rm300 = rm300 return on ur 3000."....which would come to abt 10% ROI or possibly about a 4 days of expenses to some people...

QUOTE(Tham @ Apr 4 2018, 08:11 PM)
Oh, sorry.

I was formerly in the tax line.

What I meant was, for example, Pisces88 said his PRS relief of $ 3,000 would save him $ 780 at his 26 % tax rate.

However, at that rate, his tax would be .... over $ 135,000.

Say, his statutory income, after deducting his personal relief, wife, kids, insurance, EPF, etc, was $ 700,000.
http://www.hasil.gov.my/bt_goindex.php?bt_...equ=11&bt_lgv=2
Thus, first $600,000, tax payable = $ 134,650.

Next $ 100,000, tax @ 26 % = $ 26,000.

Total tax payable = $ 160,650.

Deduct further PRS investment, $ 3,000 @ 26 % = $ 780.

$ 780/160,650, just 0.48 %, peanuts, isn't it ?

And for someone in the 1 % bracket (the majority of taxpayers), $ 3,000 @ 1 % = $ 30.
Tax reduced by just $ 30 from a possible $ 150.
*
thanks for the detailed and easy to read calculation work out..... notworthy.gif

hmm.gif
if $ 780/160,650, just 0.48 %, is peanuts
then $30/150, is 20%, is durian.....

thus, am I right to say that, your statement about,
"The tax deductions from donations, EPF, life and medical insurance, PRS, etc, are only worthwhile or significant if you are in the higher tax brackets actually."

"And in those brackets, your tax payable is already so high, the savings are not much, really."

are all relative to the perspective of metric used?
if in monetary value terms then.....RM780 saved is more than RM30, then the one with 26% tax is the winner
but if in % of cost saved, then 0.48% saved is less than the 20% saved.....the one with the 26% tax is NOT the winner.

combined 2 metrics or angle of view in 1 statement...... hmm.gif something new to be learnt and explore more....

20% is the ideal part.  But to wait until 20% is like Ince every 10 years.  See every drop occurs only occurs about 1% then rebounded.  Shows that the bull is still very much alive.
