For 2019, all funds from participating fund houses during the event are at 0.5% sales charge, exclusively for event attendees only.

Based on past experiences, that's not really the case. brows.gif
*
thumbup.gif good for those not attending too, more sales, more $$....
but I think year 2018 had burnt many, made many reevaluate their perspective, thus I guess less will be venturing into UT for now....
even Algozen is getting out for now brows.gif

anyone can find the major indices?

this new site really troublesome, I like the old table that we can generate chart and compare the fund to major indices.
*
QUOTE(MUM @ Dec 25 2018, 11:52 AM)
seems like not there anymore in the chart center...
wanted to see the trends of the SnP earlier
*
can try use the still available "Old" format in FSM India to see the indexes....
but too bad, cannot compare them with the funds in FSM MY

https://www.fundsupermart.co.in/main/fundin...ter_switch.svdo

I guess the new format prevented one from comparing the funds performance with the indexes doh.gif

It doesn't show number of units held.
*
click at the FUNDS tab
tab consisted of Overview/Funds/Bonds/Managed portfolio

Thanks for your help.

I didn't know there is a cut off date, I thought it is online... as long as before 1st Jan 2019.
*
hmm.gif i guess eventhough the names implies online.....
there is a time lag needed for human interactions, verification and approval....

some PRS providers has this ....
"For documents and payments received on a business day before 11.00 a.m., orders will be transacted on the same business day. Documents and payments received after 11.00 a.m. or on a non-business day, orders will only be transacted on the next business day."

thus even it is before 1 Jan 2019....it cannot do it.

i guess there will be a time lag needed for informing the the FH, the time lag needed for processing the buy order, the time lag needed to inform the PPA, etc

i think if you go to the PRS provider directly instead of through an intermediary, then maybe a shorter lag time in processing is required

CIMB-Principal PRS Plus Asia Pacific Ex Japan Equity is a Feeder Fund of CIMB-Principal Asia Pacific Dynamic Income Fund.

CIMB-Principal Asia Pacific Dynamic Income Fund invests in a portfolio of Asia Pacific ex Japan region.

For unit trusts in general, what are the reasons to exclude Japan, from the investment in Asia Pacific region?

There should be unit trusts that invest in entire Asia Pacific region, including Japan, right?

Thank you for your clarification. smile.gif
*
goto FSM FUNDS SELECTOR....
click ASIA funds as one of the parameter

found some...includes RHB ASIA PACIFIC FUND...it has 30% in Japan

maybe JAPAN is considered under Developed country,...thus maybe that is the reasons they have Ex japan and includes Japan funds

I just received this regarding the dividend distribution

"We hereby certify that Malaysian Income Tax deducted as above has been or will be accounted for by Fund Manager to the Director General of Inland Revenue
Malaysia. Please retain this voucher for submission to the Tax Authorities."

My question is what should I need to do in my e-tax form? Can I claim the dividend?

The guy from Affin is the only one who touched on bonds. He mentioned that diversification is key in 2019, although bonds have fairly lower return as compared to equities.
Affin Hwang Select Income Funds

I forgot which fund house is this from. But there was this question that is directed to him asking why that one particular fund (i forgot which fund it is) dropped so much, and why is the fund focus so heavily in Malaysia equities.
The guy said that due to the funds nature of focusing on small cap funds and that Malaysia small cap funds experienced a sharp decline of >30% over last year thats why the fund suffered.

He further advised that one should not have a fund that focuses on small cap equities as their 'core' investment as it is just simply way too risky. Such honesty.

hmm.gif is it AFFIN HWANG SELECT ASIA (EX JAPAN) QUANTUM FUND - MYR ?

For long run dip top up to average the coast is good
*
but for many.....for the duration of Feb 2018 till Oct 2018.....the frequent top up on each dips during that periods lead them disheartened emotionally......seeing each top ups turning into losses in each passing days....

when the invested sum is BIG and with each top up...eventually it will be very difficult to effectively average out the cost......

Thanks for the insight. In the end how a fund performs is based on the fund managers sweat.gif So.. I'm just starting out. Any tips or articles you can link for a newb?
*
hmm.gif for this...have to really compare apples to apples....which means have to compare the mandate of that fund against the similar mandated funds....
most of the time when the regions is BAD, any funds related to that regions will be BAD too.
nothing much FMs can be do at those time when that happens....they have to stick to the fund's mandate.
as seen recently, previously highly recommended funds (for years), can sink badly in a few months

yes, try read page 1 as suggested by MUM.......there is a post in page 1 that has many links...

Hi, how do you all decide which ones to sell among your portfolio funds (if you need urgent money)?
--> funds making profit for you at that point
--> funds losing money at that point
*
hmm.gif depends....depends,...

for some people, they might says...sell those funds that gives you the most uneasiness due to it volatility during the last year?

try to recall last year's emotion experience due to the NAVs trends
for a fund may gives you profits but the NAVs moves in BIG oscillation between + & - which makes one cannot sleep well at nights and curse here and there
for a fund may gives you losses, but the NAVs moves in small oscillation between + & - which makes one comfortable with the losses.

for some others, they might says,.....depends on the amount of losses and profits....
for some others, they might says,....sell those that had been constantly staying in RED for > 2 yrs (or any duration of your choice)
for some others, they might says,....sell those that are highest in terms of PE valuation regardless of profits or losses
for some others, they might says,....sell those funds that has the worst performance compared to its peers of same mandate....(for that fund maybe underperforming among its peers)
for some others, they had mentioned as per posting before this post
for some others, they might says as per postings to be mentioned after this post

thus depends.....
