Anyone with 5600x can share their temp here?
I'm getting very high idle temp Ard 63C .. and gaming will hit Ard 75.. Seems either my cooling insufficient or the chip is toasty Found a /r discussion on this ; they suggest cap the voltage to 1.2V and 45x multiplier |

QUOTE(Icecoolz93 @ Nov 20 2020, 11:23 PM) what cooler u using I use budget cool will around that after i change to expensive good 1 max 65c during intense gaming & idle at 48c QUOTE(joeblow @ Nov 20 2020, 11:56 PM) So what's your temperature after you cap the voltage? Performance got go down? Also it would be helpful if you share what cooling you use and mobo and software. using AIO 360 rad as attached.. the rad is set as push pullMy case, 5600x MSI board with MSI software and AIO 360. When idle is around 43, shock the shit out of me. Then realize is because performance in MSI software set CPU to extreme (maximum) performance. After I change to Balanced, temp drop back to the 30s.... Hope this help. Oh when I did the performance test (very quickly) max temp 70 to 75 range. bottom 2 fans is intake the board is not warm at all... board temp ard 45c while gaming (capacitor around 65c) ive disabled all software from MSI.. using the AMD drivers... for MSI X570 Tomahawk WiFi (rated to be one of the better VRM and cool budget x570 board) .. ![]() |

QUOTE(Icecoolz93 @ Nov 21 2020, 01:49 PM) I use id cooling before that then change to aorus aio 360 argb the only stock on the shop that time. the cooling efficiency better compare to id cooling admit expell alot heat but tempt still high. Aorus 1 admit less heat but 10c cooler... so there got difference base on my experience also temperature on cpu are more stable on up and down i probably stick to this for a while.. dont want to get another AIO .. probably wouldnt have much effect .. if i go perhaps doing custom water cool insteadQUOTE(joeblow @ Nov 21 2020, 02:15 PM) I am using msi gaming edge WiFi, your mobo vrm better than mine. I could be wrong, there's something about the radiator head must be higher than the pump head. In theory your setup should be more cooling than mine since you got more fan. i prefer not to load any driver during startupBtw why you go disable all msi softwares? Any reasons to do so? and the MSI dragon interface looks dated.. i set everything in BIOS instead. now i just set max fan speed to 70% in BIOS and 1.175V only using the PC for gaming (or just word/email/ms teams) so 6 core already overkill... when gaming only 50% utilize.. and no bother chasing temp.. iit doesnt impact anything come to think of it.. im not into highest record/speed etc.. more to personal use edmund_yung liked this post

Guys.. Im using HWINFO 64 and seems the temp read by the app is different for both section .. CPU And Ryzen Master shows different value.. which value does the actual CPU Temp?? ![]() red-queen liked this post

QUOTE(AMDAthlon @ Nov 23 2020, 10:16 PM) Most accurate would be Ryzen Master. HWINFO also accurate CPU(tctl/tdie/average) as all are about the same. the problem is that immediately upon shutdown .. the temp in BIOS is around 38C .. sometimes drop to 36Another one is from motherboard sensor, so that is not too accurate as the sensor placement depends on the motherboard note the screenshot i took is just immediately upon power up.. idle.. is hovering ard 50+.. but in BIOS (is below 40) i really need the actual CPU temp so I can set the fan curve correctly |

3600 has raised in price .. but for cost-conscious builder aka value for money.. still, go for 3600..

Guys anyone got guide how to UNDERVOLT Ryzen 5600x on MSI X570 board?
I tried the offset mode ( - 0.05 ) but every time i use offset, the Precision Boost is disabled i.e it will stuck at non-boost speed (3600Mhz all the time) Basically I want to use LOWER VOLTAGE ~ 1.2 V max while maintaining boost control ; right now the board is setting the CPU way too high ard 1.4v |

QUOTE(Someonesim @ Nov 25 2020, 01:57 PM) Quite similar setup as yours, tomahawk ( B550 thou ), ID cooling AIO and ARGB fans. What case is that ? Im using TecWare VXR case the AIO is set as push pullzotac 3080 trinity OC vertical set on base ( lian-li's vertical GPU kit ) so I only can fit 1 intake fans at far end of car. How's your GPU temperature ( idle and load ) ? the GFX card is around 55 on idle and max at 72 while gaming.. this is after undervolt.. (higher clock speed at lower voltage ) my problem now is the CPU temp.. idle ard 55 as well.. but can shoot up to 83 when gaming .. when set case fan to 75% max |

QUOTE(Someonesim @ Nov 25 2020, 02:31 PM) Push pull effect or not ? What I recall that I read many years ago, no big difference unless your heatsink thick enough ( that air are difficult to flow through ). Not sure got difference with push pull.. the cabling is PITA.. so I've been using it from day 1 with that config.. note I'm using stock fan and thermaltake fansI mount my AIO on top, as I think air flow less restricted by casing. Undervolt, you refer to GPU, right ? To prevent it hitting power limit ? I yet to test if that will improve my minimum fps or not Yes I undervolf the GPU ; I can't figure a way to undervolt this 5600x ; everytime I put lower voltage the boost doesn't work.. this is my first amd board.. been using intel for the past 30 yrs? .. since 486DX2 😅 |

QUOTE(Andrewtst @ Nov 25 2020, 10:41 PM) Oh! Thanks a lot for the information. yes RTX is PCIe 4 ; but basically it only use PCIe 3 bandwidth.. so no differenceOh thanks! but using this extension will impact performance right? The specification mentioned the extension is PCIe 3.0 but my MB and GeForce RTXâ„¢ 3080 both is PCIe 4.0 interface. I see, thanks for the information. like you drive a vios/city (RTX) but you fill up RON 100 petrol (pcie 4).. no difference in performance so no problem to use PCIE 3.0 riser |

there is already 4.0 pcie extension.. it will cost near RM200 with shipping... would you pay for that?

QUOTE(Someonesim @ Nov 26 2020, 09:02 PM) Unless I dont understand A-XMP or so, I assume it should works 'out of box' when I enabled A-XMP profile in BIOS. My experience with Intel and XMP, it just work after I configure ram to use XMP, no voltage tinkering. yes should work out of the box for XMP mode assume you are not o/c anything... unless those very high frequency >4k XMP may not work stable without tinkeringAt least not nightmare like 1st gen Ryzen, where my 3200 kit wont even work at 3200, 2933 will work with normal usage but not heavy load, 2666 for total stability |

QUOTE(raydenex @ Dec 1 2020, 03:09 AM) After not being able to procure a 5900x to replace my 3900x, decide to F all and just get a 5600x bundle. At least I got the mobo I wanted (X570 Tomahawk). I got the same bundle 5600x & MSI X570 motherboard (RM2.5k.. a bit high then buying separately) how much you get yours?Question to other 5000-series users.. Have you been able to get Prime95 to work? It's failing/stopping on me within 2/3 seconds. Latest version. Aida64 as well, stability/stress test fails about 5~10 seconds in. Then again my Aida is a May 2019 build. Anyone with a recent Aida can confirm if it works fine? Memory benchmark fails at L3 cache too. I had no issue with Prime95 & Aida ; stable on stock ; no O/C just change PBO from Auto to Enabled (force boost) ; and XMP on.. |

also what power supply you are currently using.. from experience crash etc can be driver issue or lack of power (assume everything is on stock setting )
disable XMP / DOCC ; |

QUOTE(raydenex @ Dec 1 2020, 12:49 PM) Pretty sure my CM v850 Gold is good. Zero issue with my 3900x / Crosshair VI system until yesterday. prime95 stop in middle means calculation error.. calculation error means the processor/memory cannot compute e.g crashingAlso I need to correct you, my system is not crashing lah. Prime95 is stopping with error few seconds in. Aida64 system stability test is stopping with warning few seconds in. Never said pc was crashing =) crash doesn't mean BSOD.. it can be the program exit halfway anyway, you can have a different definition of crashing .. it's your opinion |

do note XMP is not 'standard' its basically an overclock profile
usually for higher frequency clock you need to boost the voltage.. try run XMP profile with manual override voltage to 1.4 or 1.45V ... if stable then only tune down the voltage |
