where do you get 5600x in PJ/KL area?

seems all selling bundle with full PC

hi.. any guide for 5600x OC for MSI X570 Tomahawk board?

Anyone with 5600x can share their temp here?

I'm getting very high idle temp Ard 63C .. and gaming will hit Ard 75..

Seems either my cooling insufficient or the chip is toasty

Found a /r discussion on this ; they suggest cap the voltage to 1.2V and 45x multiplier

using AIO 360 rad as attached.. the rad is set as push pull

bottom 2 fans is intake

the board is not warm at all... board temp ard 45c while gaming (capacitor around 65c)

ive disabled all software from MSI.. using the AMD drivers... for MSI X570 Tomahawk WiFi (rated to be one of the better VRM and cool budget x570 board) ..

i probably stick to this for a while.. dont want to get another AIO .. probably wouldnt have much effect .. if i go perhaps doing custom water cool instead


i prefer not to load any driver during startup

and the MSI dragon interface looks dated.. i set everything in BIOS instead.

now i just set max fan speed to 70% in BIOS and 1.175V

only using the PC for gaming (or just word/email/ms teams)

so 6 core already overkill...

when gaming only 50% utilize.. and no bother chasing temp.. iit doesnt impact anything come to think of it..

im not into highest record/speed etc.. more to personal use

Im using HWINFO 64 and seems the temp read by the app is different for both section .. CPU

And Ryzen Master shows different value.. which value does the actual CPU Temp??

the problem is that immediately upon shutdown .. the temp in BIOS is around 38C .. sometimes drop to 36

note the screenshot i took is just immediately upon power up.. idle.. is hovering ard 50+.. but in BIOS (is below 40)

i really need the actual CPU temp so I can set the fan curve correctly

3600 has raised in price .. but for cost-conscious builder aka value for money.. still, go for 3600..

Guys anyone got guide how to UNDERVOLT Ryzen 5600x on MSI X570 board?

I tried the offset mode ( - 0.05 ) but every time i use offset, the Precision Boost is disabled i.e it will stuck at non-boost speed (3600Mhz all the time)

Basically I want to use LOWER VOLTAGE ~ 1.2 V max while maintaining boost control ; right now the board is setting the CPU way too high ard 1.4v

Im using TecWare VXR case the AIO is set as push pull

the GFX card is around 55 on idle and max at 72 while gaming..

this is after undervolt.. (higher clock speed at lower voltage )

my problem now is the CPU temp.. idle ard 55 as well.. but can shoot up to 83 when gaming .. when set case fan to 75% max

Not sure got difference with push pull.. the cabling is PITA.. so I've been using it from day 1 with that config.. note I'm using stock fan and thermaltake fans

Yes I undervolf the GPU ; I can't figure a way to undervolt this 5600x ; everytime I put lower voltage the boost doesn't work.. this is my first amd board.. been using intel for the past 30 yrs? .. since 486DX2 😅

yes RTX is PCIe 4 ; but basically it only use PCIe 3 bandwidth.. so no difference

like you drive a vios/city (RTX) but you fill up RON 100 petrol (pcie 4).. no difference in performance

so no problem to use PCIE 3.0 riser

there is already 4.0 pcie extension.. it will cost near RM200 with shipping... would you pay for that?

yes should work out of the box for XMP mode assume you are not o/c anything... unless those very high frequency >4k XMP may not work stable without tinkering

if cannot customize for that setup 5k is reasonable

what the issue? Im on 5600x.. so far so good on stock setting & amd auto overclock .. just that I think the voltage is abit high at 1.3v.. but no crashing whatsover.. Corsair Vengence 3200CL16

perhaps the crashing due to board compatibality etc

I got the same bundle 5600x & MSI X570 motherboard (RM2.5k.. a bit high then buying separately) how much you get yours?

I had no issue with Prime95 & Aida ; stable on stock ; no O/C just change PBO from Auto to Enabled (force boost) ; and XMP on..

also what power supply you are currently using.. from experience crash etc can be driver issue or lack of power (assume everything is on stock setting )

disable XMP / DOCC ;

prime95 stop in middle means calculation error.. calculation error means the processor/memory cannot compute e.g crashing

crash doesn't mean BSOD.. it can be the program exit halfway

anyway, you can have a different definition of crashing .. it's your opinion

do note XMP is not 'standard' its basically an overclock profile

usually for higher frequency clock you need to boost the voltage..

try run XMP profile with manual override voltage to 1.4 or 1.45V ... if stable then only tune down the voltage
