it's not possible to transfer license if you change mobo right?
mine won't activate, might have to buy new Win 10  hmm.gif
*
oh its not the cpu. its the motherboard make. so if u know how to edit the windows thingy. set a mobo make say asus and get asus equivalent.. it will activate.

the transfer of cpu, or chipset doesn't affect the activation.

The Windows activation is quite funny.

In some cases you can swap board with no issue at all, activation remains as it is.

In some cases it will ask you to activate, just have to call up MS to settle it. They do allow motherboard change.
*
from my experience...

i set the basic information about your comp
for system
manufacturer Asus

and as long i use an Asus board.. no issue...

Guys what's the viable ryzen upgrade form 15-6600k skylake? im looking at ryzen 7 3700x,
i only use it for gaming or maybe premier pro editing in the future,
is it too overkill, or ryzen 5 3600x is going to get the job done
*
wait. ryzen 4k apu are coming out soon.

just on laptops a 4500u is stupidly cheap al powerful for a pure 6core.. so desktop 4700G.. gonna be doing magic stuff. ryzen 3 series has a ipc of 8-15% over intel (higher the cache/core/thread.. higher ipc).. and now they are taunting the 4 series has gain another 10% on previous.. so thats 20% over intel.. thats nuts. if they improve the latency again for 4th gen.. we be seeing intel finally dethroned in every market.. laptop, ultrabook, desktop, gaming, server..

premier pro.. u can an advantage with intel quicksync vis igpu. not sure how amd apu will be supported.

but amd.. pay more. crash more. no biggie. autodefenders arnd the world will help social media. just relax and reap da profit. its aib fault, gods fault, nvidia & intel conspiracy..

Which really got me thinking.... since im about to change mobo, tempted to just go for Z490 hmm.gif  but intel are power suckers and may have issues pairing with another power sucker RTX3080.
*
intel has its own issues.
atm only asus maximus series is worth it.
but

always buy mobo based on bios first, design second based on price point. asus u cant do this as they nerf bios based on price point

If im going for intel, definitely there will not be any overclocking involved as my PSU is only an SF750... and that is also my only worry. since im leaning towards 10900F... and also not sure a 120mm AIO can handle or not laugh.gif

ahhh ITX is fun but it's so tough to make hardware choices. But since getting trolled by MSI, I will go back to being loyal with gaygaybird for mobos .... for both B550i and Z490i choices this time.
*
i wouldnt buy 10core

8core perfect for gaming.value wise is thar msi z490 unify

in fact thats the mainstream. just find it odd nobody doing a 5800x vs 10700k vs 9900k etc on optimized systems etc.
this is where most gamers should be at

dude maybe saw my posting all getting deleted, rep point deduct warnings and caught on.

when is amd gonna be accountable

sure zen 1 trial and error.. cheap
zen 2 another trial and error with expensive mobo
dumbass from zen 1 loved it cause less problems
now zen 3. cpu quite hot.. bsod at stock. ppl still defending them.

btw on intel side .. ever since plugged in ampere card.. things was not that stable. first time since i7 920 i had to manually set switching frequency.

do maybe this could shed some light on amd bsod. windows even runs a light load avx noawadays booting in.

also that dude delusional thinking rocket lake will be guaranteed stable
thats a brand new architecture. we have no clue how windows etc going to behave in that arm like structure

BIOS 1004. Current BIOS 1401.

https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-strix.../helpdesk_bios/

Got DRAM compatiblity fix along the way.
*
asus dram compatibility fixes are not.. via stressing ram on xmp stable

the bios has two dram profile, 4dimm, 2dimm
and then broken down to different ram chipset

dram compatibility fix is just the imc sensing improvement.
it could be just be for one chipset on one of the profile.

so based on your ram chipset and dimm config.. half the time this is bad news if you were stable before.

this the other reason y i dont like amd agesa. say a new agesa came out but the latest bios say a 4dimm config is bad for bdie..

you get better support for cpu stability but bad on ram.

intel asus bios we just update it to the one best suited for your ram. cpu stability nvr updated unless theres a new cpu for that socket.

and i can tell ya. most of their fixes nowadays is for micron/hynix .

dont forget about pcie lanes as well.. haha.

Just two days ago a friend bought an m.2 and a sata ssd online to add more storage. end up he cant use one of them with an existing m.2 lolol board was asus b450... on the front cover it states the board has dual m.2 and a bunch of satas connectivity, he didnt read the fine prints lmao.
*
b450..

u know it finally makes sense right. intel way. new cpu.. new chipset. seeing the shit and cpu has to go through.

rather pay money for new mobo than waste weeks trying to figure out why bsod

figure out already and realize it couldn't be fixed. So end up buying new mobo afterall, wasting all the time which could be used productively.
*
exactly. its like sorry bud. u got to wait. and amd hides behind aib who take the brunt. its asus fault, giga fault, msi fault.. all faes like wth we cant do anything since amd agesa bios is from them. amd doesnt even public a detail data sheet with electrical spec etc.

AMD is good that it doesn't cap user from overclocking and tinkering on a lot of things. But that also open up to more bsod, crash, etc due to improper overclock/settings. Bet most of the cases is because of this.
*
amd not cap?? what talkin is u
its capped in agesa.

theres no hex code to change anything. thats why dark hero had to imbue a hardware workaround to get asus dynamic oc switching. cause its so capped you cant innovate within that damn agesa.

its cap to a insane level.

so again what brainwashing seminar u went dude.
