It seems this blotter has no darkened and jagged edge external to diffusion zone and it is quite free of water moisture . Outermost zone is not showing a translucent halo indicating absence of fuel dilution problem in this used oil sample . I use this LM MoS2 additive too, but only on lower grade semi-syn EO. Never used on SHU as I personally feel it would be downright a waste when SHU already has tri-nuclear Moly.
But actually I am using Tan Chong's label of MoS2, which is an OEM label of LM. Can find it online in Lazada/Shopee at a price that was cheaper than LM itself. Same smooth/quieter feeling as LM. |

True that M1 0W40 or SHU 5W40 already have some friction modifiers in Moly and Boron and fully formulated . Amsoil SS 5W30 has a lot more than M1 and SHU above .
Not quite need extra from mixing in a way . However , semisyn or mineral oil that comes without Moly and/or Boron additives would benefit more from the marginal addition of Elf Molygraphite or LM MoS2 in reduction of friction if not smoothness .
