QUOTE(anizarina @ Mar 16 2007, 12:06 PM) haha..1 day read the forums oredy 2 pages..huhu You can give cooked chicken meat... Even tuna fish is also ok but without the mayo lah. Give once a week will do since high protein source. Fruits, you can give everyday... but you must limit them. 1 tiny piece a day would do since too much fruits can lead to diarrhea.Added on March 16, 2007, 2:40 pmhurm..can any 1 help me..beside the worms or the kricket, is there any other food that i can give to my little bubuye?i am geli2 lar with those insect yg u all mention..beside the mix nut that on the packet yg selalu jual tuh and the fruit, is there any other thing can i give them?oats that is from quacker oat can or not? about give them fruit, how much i can give them?per day?per week?per month? Oats, give only rolled oats... not those instant quacker oats.... also, cannot too much since oats can cause impaction in the gut and can be painful. Eh? Your Golden hamster is Igi is it? Female ah? Then it would be sister to my hamster hahahah.... unless it is a different litter. Coz I know my hamster had a golden sibling.... now my hamster fat and cute... very tame.
Ants can be dangerous... what you can do.... for me lah is I get those herbal ant repellent from certain hardware store(My dad bought so I am not sure).... then I spray around the cage, no ants would come. Another tip would be wiping the floor with white vinegar... just pour some white vinegar on the floor... let it sit for a while then wipe it clean... But wipe using a dry cloth... or put white vinegar in a spray bottle and spray on the floor but no need to wipe, let it evaporate by itself. Ants dislike white vinegar. |

QUOTE(dazzle @ Mar 20 2007, 01:15 PM) Urgent, Need Help This is serious. Bring to vet, don't just wait.... My WW-Female got very serious sick, i think This is because I found that her eye is on the left side is smaller that the right side. I try to wipe the eye with saline and warm water, show the cotton bulb got abit dry blood. She can't walk as normal, her head is tilt and inability to walk straight. And also she may also fall over repeatedly or be unable to sit up. She getting thin and weak everyday. Help Help Help There is a high chance that your WW may not make it. Any recent high falls or fights? Cold room? A vet told me that the reason why so many hamsters these days fall sick easily is because of petshops getting their supplies from suppliers who inbreed.... so it has become common for our hamsters to suddenly fall sick and die the next day. |

QUOTE(yanyan @ Mar 20 2007, 10:31 PM) I wanna ask actually can we put 2 hamster at the same cage? 2day I found out that my bobo n baba (both also female) fighting each other n bobo get hurt until got blood. Tis never happened before since they were born and 2day is the 1st time they fight until hurt. Now im separate them into 2 cages. Can I put them into 1 cage after bobo recover? I also wan to know how come they fight suddenly?? haiz...im so sad now.... Most important to know is what hamsters are they?Normally, hamsters prefer to live alone... so if we keep them in pairs(for dwarf) then it can lead to fighting and also death.... Syrians memang cannot live together. Once you seperate, cannot put together. It is better for you to keep them seperately in their own cages for now. |

QUOTE(arraille @ Mar 22 2007, 11:46 AM) anyone using the habitrail 'mushroom-look' water container for their hamster...? got few questions... HAhah.... I still think bottles are the best.1. will they bite the structure...? 2. will the mushroom's water holes covered with wood shaving when they start digging...? thanks guys... 1. Some hamsters will chew it. 2. Yes, wood shavings can get into the water. I do not use it but I have seen Petsmore at Petaling Street use it and that is the results I see whenever I go there. |

The mushroom bottle was designed for dwarfs and mice... but it is not very practical also lah since wood shavings can go in and baby hamsters can drown in it. Habitrail still produceses coz got people buy the mini set, so it comes with it loh...also coz msuhroom is cute looking so more buyers sure wanna try hahahah...
QUOTE(Syrian @ Mar 22 2007, 05:36 PM) if u have syrian, dun use the mushroom-like container ler. I keep my syrian in a huge toyogo box - RM 30 over type. Then i use that mushroom like water container lor. Middle of the nite, my housemate suddenly came to me and said "here's ur little hammie" Ah, it is not suitable for syrians normally. The drawback of this bottle is it makes an excellent ladder and chew toy. |

QUOTE(silencio87 @ Mar 24 2007, 02:47 AM) my frens hamster so weird leh....it throws its shit out of its mouth. Why leh?? That is a normal thing to do. Hamsters where lah got thumbs like us? So it needs to use its mouth to throw or pick things up. Your hamster also does that but without you knowing. Also, every hamster eats back its own shit for nutrition purpose. My hamsters so naughty lately Erm, your hamster is not naughty.... I would say irritated or annoyed by you. |

She look very pity at the early of the sickness I think she might left me, but she quit strong to face her sickness. Thank god, she still alive. Now she started to come out from her burrow. Mealworms will die and smell like rotten fish if they are kept in a closed container with no ventilation.... also, if you feed bread, make sure the bread is stale hard bread and not the fresh soft kind. The fresh ones will let out moisture which can become humid in the container, killing most of the mealworms and turning some of the mealworms moldy....
Always keep in a well ventilated container with some oats.... Oats is a good bedding coz can be eaten and also won't release moisture like bread thus keeping the mealworms dry and alive. |

QUOTE(Syrian @ Mar 25 2007, 01:33 PM) Do u know the KFC container?? I dunno what is the value meal called. But the container is round and on top got cover one. The cover got a lot of lubangs one. CAn i use that? At the moment, I put about 1 cm thickness of oats and I put all the worms in there wor. Then i close the lid. Shud be orite, right ?? As long the cover got lots of holes is ok lah. You can keep mealworms in the fridge... not freezer ah.... in fridge, it is cold.... and cold will make the mealworms sleep and slows down their growth. You can keep mealworms in there for a month without pupas or beetles hahahah.... if put freezer sure die lah. |
