It's recommend to buy toyota solar & security film (cost RM1850) or honda Vkool tinting (cost RM1700)? compare to buy at outside car shop? Wat the difference btw toyota/honda / outside modify car shop? I'm a noob in car.

It's worth a RM1500 for 4 side windows with solar and security film and the front & back window is solar film? 7 year warranty, and 99% UV. IF got problem within 7 year, can go back to the shop and do it again with FOC. If kena saman can also give the saman to the shop to pay. That the offer i get from the sales guy. The shop/brand is tint master..

hi all,

Is gold dust pass JPJ compliant? and the heat reduction good enough?
*
IIANM, gold dust is a type of Vkool. It's slightly reflective and golden colour. Cheaper, reduction not as good as Vkool Elite package. Harder for people to see inside your car. Also may have more problems with JPJ...

Need advice here. Looking to tint Vios 2007 with a good tint. (say V-Kool or something or budget around +/- 1.5k)
Any recommendation on a shop which is reliable? As in good workmanship and after sales service (for stuff like claims n what nots) Location around Klang valley.

Wow some people can afford 1.5K on tint alone.. zzzz wish i am that wealthy. If i have that kinda money i would install a reliable but not over priced tint like midrange rikecool or aircool. Those are good enough. The rest maybe better invested on security films or just give to the poor. Good karma always come back.

What is the latest (say until August 2008) JPJ requirements on tint? Still 70% front, 50% side and back?

I'm thinking to tint my Iswara with a 3M tint and according to the shop owner, it allows 70% light to pass through, which I understand is the borderline limit set by JPJ. Just curious, do I need to report to my insurance company that I have tinted window? Scared in the case of unfortunate events(touch wood) they will refuse to compensate my car because the car is 'not standard'. You know how nasty those insurance agents get when it comes to claims.

Thx
