Thanks for the info.
My Miix-520 fan suddenly give out funny sound. Sound like the fan going to K.O. soon. Then I shutdown the tablet. Waited for 1 min and turn it on. Initially the sound come back and then after a while the sound is gone. Called Lenovo CS and was asked to bring the tablet to service center for checking. If really the fan issue then need to order the spare part.

Anyone managed to get a reasonable priced replacement battery for the Miix 510? Mine can only last less than 15 mins before it turns off by itself. Thinking of swapping out the battery with a new one. Seems like no one is selling it locally. Saw AliExpress and Shopee selling the OEM ones - not sure real stuff or not....
Appreciate any advice / experience from those changed DIY before.

go taobao. search my previous reply for model number.

do not go for over priced battery from lenovo support.

BTW, I really dont think my Miix 510 can last for another year, battery seems to give same issue again. to me the built quality of this model is really unsatisfied.

Thanks for the info.
Apart from the battery issue (which has konked on me after 1.5 yrs usage), my unit seems to be OK. This is a daily driver for me at work. So far, it's OK. No major issue so far (touchwood!!).

Just opened my unit to check its wifi card, unable to detect sometimes.
Oh ya, I think the ram is soldered on the board, so no luck with ram upgrade.

So my battery have gone very bad, can only last less than an hour after full charge.

After see few YouTube video on how to open up the tablet, it seems like an easy job to change the battery. Ordered battery online for about RM250 from seller in KL. Need to be careful and slowly when pushing the clips that hold the tablet and screen together as per cautious on YT video, as using force might break the screen. Overall an easy to intermediate job.

My i3 510 already 2.5 years old, it's still smooth for Office usage, browsing the web + YouTube, 1080p h265 video. Got my money worth for it. Now with new battery hopefully can use it for another 2 years.

Yes, while it was about 30% juice left and running heavily (can hear the fan noise) backing up my phone, it went off suddenly, just once.

Not so sure, but the form factor is so small, so wouldn't surprise, I'm very happy to use it like a powerful tablet since day 1

Yes, it is indeed the best laptop for quite reasonable price back then ... the only thing is its auto shutdown when not on adapter. I guess the battery problem. I run the battery check, the battery was designed to hold 47,000 mah but current is only 25,000.

what tool u used to check the battery performance? took how long to test and what method?
yeah, back then, but still a good i5companion for me, especially the rigid stand, still strong for my habit of bending here and there

You can try it here: https://fossbytes.com/powercfg-check-batter...dows-using-cmd/

It is very quick. Less than a minute. I read over the internet, many facing the problem where miix510 shutdown itself while on battery ..

Last year around October sent to Service Center to check because the battery is bloated and pushed the bottom part of the screen away from the casing.

The tech help me to remove the battery and glue back the screen for free. The tech also advise me to get the battery outside because Lenovo price is expensive. Estimated around RM350 to 400 and also need to wait as they don't have stock.

At the same time checked the fan and discovered the fan is dirty. After cleaning then no more noisy sound.

So finally I bought the replacement battery from AliExpress for USB48.75 in November 2019 and it is still working.

Btw, I changed the motherboard this year due to it intermittent unable to detect the SSD. Luckily it is still under warranty.

I also did the SSD upgrade to Samsung 970 EVO Plus 512GB in Jan this year.

i have removed it. initially thinking want to replace but fark it just use it naked.
previous matte SP really cause the screen quality drop due to blurriness.

normal SP and tempered glass once scratch also will affect the view.
put trust into its gorilla glass build.

i have experienced the same intermittent undetected boot device AKA the SSD and random BSOD frequently.

open up my unit, re-insert the SSD, clean the fan, reapply thermal paste, now seems ok ady.
good to hear you are under warranty. mine happen all right after warranty.
