That is correct. The Closed Beta is open to all so there is no reason for it to be unfair. You just need to download the client, register an account.

Wait for a little while longer ma. English version closed beta will hopefully start in the middle of May if there aren't any problems. I'm sure everyone is working hard to get the English version up and running soon. Besides, still need see how well the Chinese version goes first right?

So if you guys wanna see the English version out faster, support the Chinese version by playing or testing and also telling your friends about it. Don't forget to support the company that publish it.

Like most of you, I can't really read Chinese so I can't really go into the game at the moment. Anyway...it feels really enjoyable and I'll wait for the English version to really have a go at it.

i am playing human race warrior....getting stuck at a quest..... the quest is initiated from the beer drinker after level 10...where he ask to retrieve an item from a box.... just like the jump quest from zhang lao.... where is the box and how to jump to it...if required jumping...please help....

Game Features
A. Territorial Warfare
The game divides the whole terrain into smaller domains and has a built-in territorial battle system where clans and factions can build, arm, and fortify a city or multiple establishments at the same time.  Fortify the captured city with catapults and armaments to guard your location against opposing attackers who are keen on expanding their territory.

B. High Detail Character Customization
The game allows players to customize character features, from head to toe.  Every detail of the human body: hair style and colour, facial features such as distance of the eyes, shape of the brows, etc., body shape, skin colour, torso size, width of limbs, etc., can be customized using a unique slider system that offers full control to the user.  Using this customization system makes each character unique.

 

C. Sea, Air, Land Battle
Each character and class in Perfect World has the special ability and peripherals to fly, trek, and swim in different terrains.  Inherent attributes, special equipments, summons or even mountable animals make it possible for characters to not only fly, trek, and swim but also to duel and clash on any of the terrain.  Perfect World created a world with flying monsters and floating cities and ruins, all waiting to be explored.

D. Massive Quest/Mission System
The game itself has more than 5,000 quests waiting to be discovered and completed.  Quests can be race and class specific.  Instance quests are available for players who would like to make their own adventures.

E. Huge Continuous Terrain
The entire game world is within one large map that requires no loading or no changing of maps, so players can move around without waiting for scenes to change.




F. Time and Weather Effects
The game shifts from day and night, sunny to rainy season on a regular cycle, changing the view of each area to suit the time.  This "real world" effect will immerse the players more effectively in the game.

G. 16:9 Widescreen Mode

O. Double Experience Option NPC
Levelling is easy with the "Double Experience Option".  A Non-Player Character or NPC can provide 12-14 hours of 2X EXP per week (non-stackable) at the discretion of the player.

This system allows you to train your character and improve its martial combat skills.  Now players can be sure that the warrior they send to battle will dominate in the battlefield and bring you honour.

Q. Riding Pet System
Pets are not just companions in Perfect World; players can train their pets, mount them, and use them as a means of transportation.

 

R. Partner Ride System
Mounts can accommodate up to two players at the same time, enabling you to assist a fallen comrade and bring him to safety during a battle, or take a nice stroll in the woods or fields with your in-game loved one.

Nice info post. Does it feel laggy if playing on the Philippines server compared to the Malaysian server? I heard the Open Beta will start at the end of the month. I'm not playing much till then.

CASTLE SIEGE: A NEED MORE THAN A WANT

We�ve seen the siege feature over and over again in various games. Siege popularity came to an all-time high when War of Emperium was introduced in Ragnarok. Suddenly it changed from being a want to a need. Because Ragnarok siege gave gamers a totally new experience in online warfare, gamers now expect this feature in any of the online games that they play. Who can blame them? After all, competition is one of the most compelling reasons to keep on playing MMORPGs.

Enter the multi-awarded MMORPG, Perfect World. This game takes the competitive aspect of gaming to the next level by introducing a complex and very enjoyable City Battle system. Unlike other games when you have just several castles to choose from, in PW, you there are 44 cities or states available for conquest! Yup, you heard me right� 44 states PER server.

STATE OWNERSHIP BENEFITS


If a guild is strong enough to own a city, they will be rewarded with fame and fortune. The guild name will be written on the state map, and they will regularly get taxes from any transaction done by non-guild members in their city. Guild members will also get 1 hour of double experience every week for every state that they own. I�m not yet 100% sure on this one but from what I heard a guild can own up to three states. The benefits are not insanely great, but they are just right. It shows that the developers really made an effort to ensure game balance.

DECLARING WAR

Every week, a guild can declare war on only one state. If a guild already owns a state, they can only declare war on an adjacent state (based on the map). To declare war, the guild leader must go to the war NPC and pay a fee of 500,000. If multiple guilds want to attack a certain state, they will undergo bidding system to determine who will be the one to invade for that week. After the bidding ends, there will be an announcement on the server that will say which guild will attack which state and their corresponding schedules. War only happens during the weekend, and the system will generate the schedule at anytime during Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

THE BATTLEFIELD


Yes, I know what you�re thinking. The map really looks like DOTA. Three lanes and guard towers per lane! Anyway, guilds will start at their respective home base, which is located at the far ends of the map. Each base is protected by a fortress wall with three gates. In each gate, there are 2 guard towers for added security. The central building is also defended by 4 guard towers. The three roads leading out of each base can also have towers built at the middle (now that totally reminds me od DOTA). Now the question is� how does a guild win? Pretty simple. In order to win, a conquering guild must destroy the central building of their opponent. The host guild, in turn, must defend it for the time period (2-3 hours) or destroy the central building of their attacker.

There are two ways to damage the guard towers and the central building: player and catapult. The best way to go about it is of course to use the catapult. It is really hard to do this though as you will have to escort the catapult from your base all the way up to your opponent�s base. You�ll need to go through the guard towers and opposing enemy troops just to get the weapon in place.

In the event that a character dies, he can teleport to any of the guard towers or transfer columns situated in various areas in the map. These columns act as waypoints (WoW speak) or agitating points (RO speak). They can also be destroyed by other players or by catapult.

If there is one word to describe the City Battle system, that word is EPIC. Perfect World promises to be one of the biggest games in 2007, especially since most of the new games, except for Lineage II, will have minimal PVP content. This is something that Pinoy gamers crave for and Perfect World will definitely give them that at the highest level possible.

Despite the seemingly pvp-centric nature of the game, Perfect World also boasts of intricate community features. The most noticeable one is the Mount System. Two players can actually ride one mount, which is really cute and compelling for anime-fans and gamer couples. I also heard that if you�re a werebeast, you can transform to a wolf/bear and your lady love can actually ride you.

Yup... saw that too........ I think a lot of cybercafes and distributor selling the DVD for RM2.00

Also, here's how the SMS thing works.

The format is like this:
World2<space>CD/DVD<space>YourName<space>Mailing Address

Example:
world2 DVD RobertGan No. 123, Jalan Abu Bakar 12, Taman Indah, 58200 Kuala Lumpur

*You need to type CD if you want the CD installer (4 Discs) or DVD if you want the DVD installer. Both are the same things.

Send the request to 32300 and you will get a confirmation SMS reply. It will take a few days for the installer to reach you but you'll get a nicely printed disc and sure beats downloading.
