It seems that Proton Iriz cannot stand side impact collision (T-Bone), presumably at high speed. From the photo, judging by the deployment of driver's curtain airbag, this Iriz is a Premium variant. The car's body is severely deformed.

I believe so too. Because last time Preve got T bone and safe as well. Iriz is 'compact' car. Perhaps not enough space for crumple zone. One of the reasons why Nissan Teana got perfect score for ASEAN NCAP was because its crumple zone

I think think the pajerk vgt if it doesnt topple, side impact seems ok especially against smaller cars. My friends pajero vgt got t boned by a kancil. The kancil front severely damaged, total loss, the pajero no injuries and still can be repaired. Most of the damages taken by the pajero side bars for u to stand up. Size does matter i guess.

They can, just use a cockpit. Pretty sure chance of surviving increase. But no matter how though ur car, deceleration force is the main culprit why people die.

The driver made a sudden turn, Audi was driving fast and hit the wimminz driver.

No car can save you from reckless driving.

Nonetheless u have to drive safe no matter what car u drive, but PROTON is the safest affordable car u can buy in Malaysia.

Buying any perodua car is like being one step closer of being crushed in ANY type of accident.

It does not matter. Even if kereta kebal looks ok externally, the driver inside is as good as dead also

I would not just presumed the Iriz driver was careless. Sometimes, when you look in your mirror, there is no car but when you were about to turn suddenly there is a car. This happens when the other car is driven at very high speed and more unfortunate the road is curved and cannot see far

i actually keeping track with latest accidents in Malaysia that involve ONLY Proton cars equipped with HPF steels - Iriz, new Persona, Suprima and Preve

i can tell you, fatalities (death) recorded in these Proton cars, be it the driver or other occupants are RARE in comparison to nationwide statistics


Suprima is the rarest - perhaps no fatalities at all

Preve - quite a number of fatalities, but mostly due to not wearing seatbelts (the police/enforcement officers)

Iriz - a few fatalities

V40 is a C-segment like Golf, Focus, 1-series, A-class, not really a compact in comparison to A and B segment like Iriz, Jazz, Fiesta, Polo.

V40 is as small as it gets from a Volvo. Even so, it broke record to be Euro NCAP's safest car in its time. Great job by the Swedes.

Dang!! i saw both cars at Balai Polis Kuala Selangor. Audi's airbags deployed, only front crumple zone hancur. Whereas the Iriz i thot kna burger sideways. Rupa-rupanya kna bang on one side, tapi damaged macam kena worse than burger both sides and from front and back. tin milo juga this Iriz

I suspect after Audi rammed into Iriz, it might have pushed it to a nearby tree. That caused both sides to deform badly. One caused by Audi frontal collision, the other by nearby tree.
