Hi All,

Today i will teach all of of you on how to upgrade from Streamyx 4Mbps to 8Mbps for the same price. I managed to upgrade mine. Steps:

1.Call 100 from your TM fixed line phone.

2.Choose your language.

3.Then press nombor 4, (working hours Monday to Friday, 8am to 7pm)

4.A person from from TM product department will talk to you.

5.First ask whether your area has 8Mbps coverage or not. Then if the TM person says yes, you mention that you want to upgrade your Streamyx package to 8Mbps and lastly ask about the price.

6.If the TM person says the price is Rm140 without GST(with GST Rm 148.40), you can then proceed with the upgrade with confirmation from the TM account holder.


Important !!!
a.Those still under contract cannot upgrade.
b.Once upgraded, the contract will renewed for two years.

Congratz. Im stuck with 4mbps

Mine got existing rm10 discount during upgrade from 2M to 4M (maintain RM130),
doubt that I can FREE upgrade to 8M with maintain same price again
and yes it's fairly easy & general that ppl can free upgrade provided they haven't get any discount before
e.g 2m -> 4m (=RM130, i'm one of those)
4m -> 8m (=RM140)

I straight go to tm point asking for free upgrade.

Price remain same rm140, just renew contract 2years.

For info, please make sure you have good SNR margin for downstream before upgrade.

4mbps to 8mbps will drop around 10dB.

Problem with hypptv on streamyx.....it shares the same bandwidth....

Unifi case:
30mbps internet + separate 10 mbps hypptv.

Streamyx case:
8mbps internet and streamyx.
If your internet usage is high, then your hypptv gonna start pixelating because not enough bandwidth.....

HyppTV is worse than Astro. But the HyppTV decoder box can be used to install another apps.

8mbps@rm140 is promotion price for now..

According to tmpoint staff those under contract aso can upgrade to 8mbps@rm140 but wil renew again the contract again..

some app lag too

What app can be installed?

my existing is RM88..so no point for me to pay extra RM50 for additional 4mb

not to mention, is just my kampung line and i seldom use.. unless they can give same price for 8mb..else forget bout it

just to confirm i call 100 today and ask about this.. damn true they have promotion upgrade at same price now for 8mbps RM 140 . straight away i've upgrade my acc to 8mb .. need to wait 7 working days..

Same here, 4 to 8, but took me less than 15 minutes after request to update from TM Point.

Now already running on 8Mbps.

Meanwhile there is SMS said technician will come visit me today, not sure or not.

upgrade took time only in 15 minutes ? damn the fastest process ever heard.. lucky u la.. i didnt check yet.. cause my other account last 3 month upgrade from 4mb to 8mb took 2 weeks of process !

ya setop box can self collect and self install.. easy abc.. by postage will be charge rm 14 in bill.. if want technician install for you.. rm 100 charge... dun waste your money.. its only 5 minutes installation..

Yes, cause I checked my router after applied through DDNS and the data rate is set to 10240 immediately

Not sure how hypptv works. Maybe just another collect dust item

Oh yeah another thing, if u upgrade from 4mbps/rm88 to 8mbps/rm140 and then decide to downgrade back to 4mbps u will be given normal package 4mbps/rm140.. no more 4mbps/rm88..

My mom went to tmpoint to pay the bill. The guard at the door told my mom to upgrade to 8mb. Then my mom proceed to the counter to apply for 8mb. Need to wait 1 week tho. Can't wait

My 4MB already 130, so i cant up anymore

my streamyx upgraded to 8mb yesterday.. took 4 working days.. next week go to tm point collect useless hypptv box lel

Hypptv box can be used for another kinds of stuff. I have converted mine into home media center.

Today go tmpoint try upgrade to 8M, as predicted, my existing rm10 discount doesn't carry forward, so I reject the rm140 offer

Guys just to inform you if you have unifi coverage at your house, yo can just port out to Maxis fibre 10mbps its only rm139. Around the rate you are paying for 4mbps /8mbps streamyx right now.

Call 100 (or go TM point for better efficiency) ask for upgrade to 4M,
most likely you'll get free at the cost of contract renewal (provided your area support 4M above la of coz)

4mbps = rm88

actually, they should provide free upgrade (without contract renewal) to all screamyx users (if their area support better speed). Except that, the user wanna get new modem from them.

It is normal. Mine also dropped when upgrade from 4Mbps to 8Mbps.

I guess this tip is no use to me.

I'm at 4 mbps and my SNR margin is already low, around 5 dB. Any more upgrade I'll start to face disconnection.

You can try call TM and ask about it.

i think promotion for current 4mb subcriber only, but u can give a try.. call 100

I managed to get the upgrade for RM140 from 4Mbps to 8Mpbs by calling 100.
just an hour ago.

that whoever officer on your chat is total arse,
call 100 or better, go TM point ask for it, don't ask about promotion package whatsoever, say u want up to 8M and ask for the price, i just did on beginning Feb'17 and bunch of ppls also getting it now.
If cannot str8 away up to 8M, at least u should able to get 4M (rm130)

Called justnow and got the upgrade from 4Mpbs to 8Mbps for free.. and just checked the speedtest and download speed is now over 11Mbps

So, can i upgrade to the 4 mbps plan now and next month upgrade to the 8 Mbps plan ??

No cannot because there will be two year contract.

My sis has been telling me the speed from time to time when she's at home and the speed now is consistently showing 8Mbps++ even though we haven't wait for 7 working days



I didn't do any magic.. My friend has called to upgrade the next day also hasn't seen any changes yet so far.

hi guys, try to monitor ur speed from time to time, im realized TM drop my speed from 8M back to 4M on yesterday night, call 100 to open a report....they changed back to 8M on this morning...
