First and last time i will buy proton again  bangwall.gif

More like this case => http://www.flyingspaghettimonster.com/port...ad.php?t=368882

They said change/modify the ignition distributor ?  hmm.gif
*
saga is coil on plug, so there's no ignition distributor. the problem with campro engine (on saga) is it is designed and tune near to the margin limit, so whenever there's any minor out of spec / tolerance then some minor things come out, like the knocking for example. they can't do much as well, tune down the engine will resolve the knocking issue but the engine will be lower output, already tarak oomph lagi kurang oomph, mana boleh. biggrin.gif

my BLM millage 180k already. haha.. now absorber dah kong need to check maybe change everything. aircond also not so cold. need to service. engine still okay but kuat makan minyak. thays y i'm thinking to save money and just repair or buy new saga or bezza😉😉
*
if you have no issue with your BLM, then expect better from the new saga premium, if you looking for ride and handling, only saga satisfies you. if you willing to sacrifice ride and handling for a tat better fc, then bezza.

Depend la, kalau nak compare dengan p2 mmg p2 punya clutch lembut sikit, but i got no complain with proton manual except the reverse gear hard to engage sometime, need to carefully put it in R position otherwise it will 'grrrrrr'
*
adui, i thought this problem only occur in saga BLM which uses aichi kikai gearbox. rupanya getrag gearbox also the same trouble.

QUOTE(Lez Pall @ Mar 17 2018, 01:13 AM)
Direct injection engine on a budget car seems too costly unfortunately. But I believe Geely might have a cost effective approach to this, maybe using an existing port injection engine(1.3T is most likely) and removing the turbo module so the power output is more in line with the current VVT powertrain. They even have a CVT so Proton doesn't have to outsource it from Jatco or Punch.

The Geely engine is Euro 5 capable so not having GDI isn't really a minus, plus no one would really care anyways as long as it's reliable and fuel efficient. And on a relatively light car like the Saga means it can have a FC of around 20 km/l(17 km/l in its turbo form).

We'll probably have to wait next year though for the facelift because the powertrain requires road testing and adaptation to a different platform. Coincidentally, the Persona is also planned to get a facelift next year with possibly a different engine/transmission combo.
*
important is the powertrain pairing and tuning, you have a superb engine but you have a crappy gearbox or a bad tuning on it. Gone also. biggrin.gif

Proton seems to know better about powertrain tuning than they are back when the first CVT Saga was announced. I figured if they are using Geely's engine/gearbox then the tuning has to be up to their standard and approval.

But as I said, no direct injection for the Saga. Too much cost and complexity and a good multi port engine will do just fine.
*
true, proton did have more improvement in the gearbox tuning compared to the saga flx cvt. not sure whether proton have any say on geely's powertrain and the tuning or not though, the worst situation will be like old mitsu powertrain era.

yup, saga an affordable car should come with multiport, unless the DI engine come with cheap cost and reliable then it will be a different case (which is unlikely)

Cvt Vvt powertrain good ? It suck to the max with the delay

If u see facebook club, many having gearbox problem for this design also
*
if you compare to how japanese brand of course proton powertrain sucks, what you gonna do with an engine that is sluggish at low rpm that couple with a clutch type cvt? but if you compare it to iafm 4AT or iafm+ cvt, then you will know what i'm talking about. i haven't drove a saga vvt before, but iafm+ cvt it is way better than iafm 4AT (driven both). at least the acceleration is comparatively better. if vvt doesn't perform better than iafm / iafm+, it simply means there's something wrong, given that vvt is newer gen of engine.

so is that normal FC for saga? hmm.gif  i think it drink much our gas as of 1.3l should be more efficiency right..  shocking.gif  shocking.gif
*
not really, a persona iafm+ with auto trans on mixed driving fc is comparable with saga BLM 1.3 manual. anyway saga vvt fc should be better than previous iafm engines though.

I drove my friend latest Saga today.

Like what other forummers told in this thread, I can feel the throttle delay. It takes time to pickup.

A bit scary la when you want to cross the road.
*
probably you should try out bezza, let's see how delay bezza throttle gets. laugh.gif
anyway, cvt transmission tend to have the so caled rubberband effect during initial acceleration, meaning you won't get the power the instance your engine is giving the power. that's the trait of cvt, unless it is toyota's direct shift cvt then "maybe" it is slightly different.

check bump stopper. maybe your don't install yet or maybe damage like mine.

mine damage after 1 year of installation. end up going to mekanik bawah pokok to replace using "otai" method of rubber pipe on absorber spring
*
is it the stopper located at the top of the rear coil spring?

located top of coil spring before the absorbed assembly that screw to engine bay (i have no idea what it called)

user posted image

basically the stopper located under the three screw thinggy and above the semi circle thing. it basically at the both end of spring (picture above as reference only). the three screw thinggy is the mounting location absorber mounting point under the hood

(ayam so sorry as ayam is bad at describing this  tongue.gif )

mekanik bawah pokok end up removing both stopper and covering the tip of spring with rubber host. mekanik inform it same thing as rubber stopper mechanism

i test and poff.... sound gone

(sorry for late reply as busy with outstation work  thumbsup.gif )
*
if from your wording, it is the something that look like sarung that is inside the coil spring that wrapping the absorber. right?

interesting

my old wira also have same problem.
ingat dah tukar kereta baru problem ni tak dak

any idea where the water might came in?
*
i suspect is water sipping in especially when there's a huge source of water pouring down, example water dripping from awning during downpour, it happen twice after downpour so i think the water must be sipping in somewhere, maybe through the trunk rubber seal. just guess, so i try avoid pouring down water and it never seen any wet trunk anymore.
