Man.. this is hard. Should I buy 1080Ti or stay with this Palit 1070 and wait for volta. To drive this Predator X34, seems like 1070 not enough
Wait Volta, if can't wait, upgrade. NVIDIA GeForce Community V18 (welcum pascal), OH-EM-GEEE TITAN Xp way better than XP

The Pascal generation of GPUs doesn't gain as much as previous generation GPUs with the factory overclock variants. This is because they already overclock automatically when possible. But tinkerers would probably still be able to push beyond that with the extra cooling and voltage tweaking.

QUOTE(Acap1986 @ Apr 3 2017, 01:50 PM) i wanna buy it, but scare asus...rma quite problem lol...if wait evga so long lol... Well, I guess it depends on brand preferences too. If you don't mind the brand, I would say that Zotac doesn't seem bad since they also included a 5-Years Warranty period for their cards. They're cheaper too. But I can't really say how reliable their cards are or how they handles warranty when we send our faulty cards. or just buy zotac o giga??? may u guys tell me which or what should i do? |

QUOTE(dnv33 @ Apr 12 2017, 12:23 PM) Thanks! If remove the card, it has no issue to boot until BIOS?But after I setting up and turn it on. My PC stuck at the BIOS screen with a beep tone. Even my keyborad is not working at this point. If so, maybe the card is not properly seated / the external power to the card isn't connected Else, do check all the hardware connections and the power connections to all hardware. |

QUOTE(dnv33 @ Apr 13 2017, 09:45 AM) Know what's wrong now. I forgot to update my BIOS. That's why it can't read my new GC. You're welcome, but I don't think I've helped from your solution. HahaThanks for the great help! But that is new information to me. Never knew that not updating motherboard bios would cause it to fail to recognize a new graphics card. |

QUOTE(Pakrol @ Apr 18 2017, 10:02 AM) is there any website that i can compare custom gpu? I would like to know it too.ie. Auros gtx 1080 vs Zotac gtx 1080 amp extreme Thanks in advance! But for Pascal generation of GPUs, most aftermarket GPU with custom coolers performs around the same (with air cooled). |

QUOTE(Pakrol @ Apr 18 2017, 01:12 PM) yea all review site like guru3d, wccftech always compare with the reference one, seems like not fair QUOTE(edmund_yung @ Apr 18 2017, 01:22 PM) You're right, I notice that too, they all compare to the reference GPU, not sure whether they want to maintain good relation with all brands or something. Well, it is called "Reference" for a reason I guess. |

QUOTE(defaultname365 @ Apr 20 2017, 09:28 AM) Great... I expect... the 'GTX 2070 with 11GB of GDDR5X @ 12Gbps' = the sweet one price/performance wise, but maybe not the initial release period I don't think the GTX 2070 will come with 11GB memory clocked at 12Gbps though, since the GTX 2070 would probably perform around the GTX 1080 or a little better due to process shrink.Maybe it's a good idea for those still in the waiting game to skip a generation (Maxwell -> Volta) |

Still, it's interesting to see what Nvidia will do now. Even if they refined Pascal just a little bit, like adding another SM into the GPC (Pascal GP1XX : 1 GPC = 5 SM to GP2XX : 1 GPC = 6 SM), they can already beat AMD RX 500 series without much work.

QUOTE(Songchien @ Apr 20 2017, 01:47 PM) From Nvidia recent track record with their 3 Titan X's, I highly doubt it. HahaIf they went with Volta route, they're probably going to release small Volta this generation (around 300mm2 and less GPU die size) since AMD is not putting up a fight. |

QUOTE(defaultname365 @ Apr 20 2017, 03:22 PM) Probably, I base it on GTX 1070 vs. GTX 980 performance difference Haha, that's only possible with a die shrink that shrunk it to almost half the size ler.In any case, this is how things are (if value conscious... Titans excluded): ![]() The GTX 970 in Malaysia is still priced quite high, so I think the best would be the 4GB RX 470 over here, followed closely by GTX 1060 3GB. |

QUOTE(defaultname365 @ Apr 20 2017, 05:06 PM) I see... haha ok. I guess you're looking into the Ultra 4K experience then. If such is the case, definitely, Volta will be a better GPU generation to get into. Only very high end Pascal cards can deliver that right now.For me, a worthy/sensible upgrade would be a resolution jump, monitor + GPU (1080 -> 1440p) and yes you're right, the prices still not that good here but the fps/$ can serve as a gauge of where they should be. Used GPUs (GTX 1070/1080) in Garage sales not bad, been eyeing for sometime now but... still not where I want them to be. For me, 1080p still fits the bill. |
