Only MyKad needed for ASNB transactions

KUALA LUMPUR: Beginning June 28, Amanah Saham Nasional Bhd (ASNB) shareholders only need their MyKad to conduct transactions.

The move is part of ASNB's efforts to increase customer service efficiency, Chief Executive Officer/ Executive Director Mohammad Hussin told a press conference here today.

In a way, good too,... even if did not bring along passbook, can still perform transactions like selling when one is near to a bank or an agent.

That's why many Malaysians go for JJPTR and MBI,... because no good instruments for investments,...

Hence,... must learn to invest out of this country already... soon, no more 6%,....

Hope this help and clarify members question.

Btw, Maybank ASNB system offline again...

Sigh.
*
Under bullet 3 of the document, it is said that we have to update our bank account information for possible electronic payment activities in future. This means we can probable sell online in future.

This updating need not necessarily be done at a branch. We have to register with ASNB, then after we logged-in, there are fields for us to update ! We can update here,....

Depend on what reit. Malaysian reit, don't think so. Singapore reit yes. Easily 7-8% (now no more 8%, more of the Singpaore reits are now in the 7% range due to drastic increase in price) a year tax free dividend + capital appreciation + appreciation of SGD vs RM.
Even HK banks (use to give in the mid rage of 5%)/AU bank stocks also can beat amanah saham.

If breakeven for Malaysians stocks maybe Maybank dividend/Public Bank appreciation in price
*
Yeah, yeah, yeah and yeah to all of bros' comments above,............ BUT NOT EASY TO OPEN ACCOUNT ANYMORE IN SG !

Better explore Aussie REITs,... stay in Australia for sometime to build your residency there,....

ASX has one advantage (price stability) while SG REITs has 4 advantages (see previous posting by my bro) - I invest into both,..

Dude, SAY IS EASY.

To do is hard.

My brother in law work there for almost 18 years only can get PR. That also 2nd time application.

Nowadays AU also keep rejecting already because overflux if MY HK and CN people going there in the past 10 years. Props have been bought by PR and local is eating dust. The rule now is so so strict compared to previous year.

Unless your job is really top priority in AU, they may consider. Or else just forget it.

Migrating is an option but not a necessity YET. What we have to do now is grab the last hope to improve our nation and at the same time building strong financial foundation on your own.

Grass is always greener on the other side.

All my relative that get PR no matter which country, racial discrimination toward Asian IS ALWAYS THERE. You will get bully, looked at one kind, you name it they have it. But ofc, its just minority, still, as the time going, life isn't as good as in MY. Provided in MY you got yourself a decent job, then youre good to go.
*
Okay,... let me reply here, dude,...

I know that it is not easy,... I know there will always be discrimination,... BUT, in MY,...

1) is it really easy, especially for the younger ones ? I would say the answer to this is also a NO.
2) is there no discrimination ?? I don't have to reply this for you, after all, we practise open discrimination here in MY.

Of course, only if you're really needed, would you be able to get a job in AU, because they too have their own people,... it's the same everywhere, you have to prove your worth, this is what we called meritocracy. If I lose based on meritocracy, I feel okay,... but not due to race or bumiputra status,......

If I have to suffer working on a job, I'd rather suffer earning a strong currency than suffer earning a falling currency,.... today I realized this, that's what I keep telling my kids. If I realized this when I first started to work,... I would have done all my best to move to a country with a strong currency,...

As I always say,... please read my other posts too,... no country is perfect, there will be their own set of problems everywhere,... it's okay,... so long as it's worth it, we take that option in life,.. what is there to lose ???? So,... please,... don't think I am that naive to think that the grass is greener on the other side. The grass is greener at where you have more knowledge compared to the general population - this is my saying always.

Do you know why we feel comfortable in MY ??????????? That's because we are too used to the situation in MY, and we are just too reluctant to get out of our comfort zone - this is the reason ! So,........... we have to breakout of this in order to breakout from remaining as slaves to the elites ! Earn a reasonable amount of money outside, convert into the MYR back home, and return as an elite too !

Anyway,... I admit I too feel comfy in MY when it comes to working in my profession though I know I am earning a bad currency here,... no choice-lar,.. having been here all my life.

BUT : I am sending my funds out and making my investing life outside of this place. I take consolation in that the other part of my life is spent in other countries, earning other currencies. It was not easy to start this too,... All my life, I have been with Amanah Saham Funds, until that fateful day when I approached Mayban Securities and the clerk told me to go invest in other places, then I started to explore opening accounts in Aus and Sgp.

Investing within one's comfort zone is always more comfortable than investing in other people's land,... but,... I did the opposite,... so,.. what's the problem ???

I have sent my children out very early in their lives to adjust to a better country, with a different govt and a stronger currency !

Let's give a scenario
Earning RM9500, monthly essential expenses need RM1000

Now,
Earning RM10000, monthly essential expenses RM2000. (same item) That's what we are facing now. Even with increment in salary, higher cost due to depreciation of RM. Our earning power drop.

One do not need migrate. Just earning powerful foreign currency is enough to cushion the blow. USD/EUR/AUD/GBP/CAD/SGD ke semua boleh use. Have your pick. Cannot depend on amanah saham now. Last time can.
*
Haha,... my bro is sharp,... that Xing keeps equating earning foreign currency with migrating. NO,... he is wrong !!

I think bro is smart,... someday, we should meet-up,... I'll give you all my kungfu....

No one deny the cost of living is high. Depend on how you handle.

Decent job... 10k per month not decent? Not enough? Then you got problem. Not the money. Not the currency. You have that amount, but you cant make it grow...
If not decent job, around 5 or 4 k per month. Can eat dust. No comment.

If 10k still cant save, better ask for KPDNKK to teach you how to spend.
If got decent job only can proceed with your migrating dream...

You tell those fella 5k per month prepare migrate LOL

GLHF then.
*
I do agree somewhat,... we need to control our spendings,.. but,.. if a person is going to earn 5k RM here or 10K RM in MY,... don't you think he/she should try to earn 5K SGD or 10K SGD instead ?? When he is young, he should try,....

This is no laughing matter,... the day will come when he needs more money,... one must be practical in life,....

...well,... okay-lar,... if one says he is satisfied in life, then so be it,... but don't regret later on if this thing 'tak cukup', that thing 'tak cukup',... and wife/children start asking for too many things,... seen so many of these cases in life,...

Edited to correct spellings,...

Don't get me wrong.

I also want to earn strong currency and spend like nobody in MY like my brother in law.
But what can I do to AU? The MY degree is just another piece of useless paper. A lot of local uni be it private or public is never recog in foreign country.
My friends one with UK engineer master but in AU can't even get a related job. Because they prefer local. Job less for 13 months now doing coal mining. High pay bit no day and night. Previously in O and G earn 18k pee months. Take all saving to AU, bought a car and almost used up during finding job. Now no u turn for him. And he's still applying for interview some job. He's lucky because his father in MY is rich fella. Keep pump money and have an apartment there. So accommodation solved.... Another clever fella go pick apple. 3 months come back earn nothing because cheated.

Maybe what I say so isolated cases. Who knows.

Comment : YES, there are many of the above cases that I know of too,... we have to break out of this,....no one says it is easy. Even going to SG is also not easy today,.. So,.... we send the younger ones out very early,... let them adjust, let them assimilate into the society there, let them build a database there,....

Your concept can't apply on a salary man 6k with kids. Monthly expenses gulp down lot and their saving just left few hundred. U think they can change to SGD or usd?

Comment : OKay,..... I wouldn't disagree with the above. But earlier, we were talking and comparing between earning the MYR in MY or earning a foreign currency in a ctry with a stronger currency, not necessarily Aus or SG. I did say too that I am also comfy in MY.

Your concept can apply on young blood no doubt.

Comment : So, I'm sending my kids out very early to help them breakout of the 'comfort zone' concept before more doors are closed,... hopefully it works,...

And dude. No one will say money is enough.

No one will reject earning in strong currency.

I want to. I also have my investment in foreign exposure.

But I need to eat also.

Appreciated the reversion, bro,...

I agree with you.

one word - white privilege.  The perceived privileges of being born a white or european descendant.

Life is good in the western country IF you are born a white. This is the hard truth.

My friend who is a doctor worked in Canada few years ago, and he told me that Asians are considered the lowest in the social hierarchy.
*
Well,.... then we will sit and wait for China to take over the world,... then Chinese will stand tall in the world,... biggrin.gif

I think your doctor friend has a personal prejudice problem towards the Chinese,... I have Canadian friends too, angmohs who are always looking for Chinese investors, Chinese friends, Chinese this and Chinese that,... Chinese girlfriends,...

Sometimes, I think perceived privileges and prejudices are individual-centric,... not truly a national phenomenon. The closest national phenomenon of racial privilege and prejudice exist in Malaysia whereby we can see everyday occurrences of the bumiputra privilege (hak istimewa) which is imbedded in the constitution. Therefore, cannot be changed,...

But,... somehow, I feel the SG investors are smarter this time,... they will not unload everything anymore even when a crisis strikes,... It will take a very big crisis, an event that has never happened before to 'convince' those,... err,... 'kiasi/kiasu' people (including myself-lar),... to truly selloff everything for others to pick up,...

2008/9 was the only opportunity this century,...

Don't worry. I have full faith. Not everyone have balls of steel unless you are a A.I investor.

Take the selldown in Nasdaq as an eg. Nasdaq selldown, SG tech manufacturing stock also experience a sell down. If you want to talk about reits, even though interest rate is fixed, but it's only fixed for few years then the reit manager have to refinance again. That time, they won't get lower rates anymore. They will have to pay higher rates. It's inevitable.

We just need china/us to start the trigger and you will see people panicking.
*
biggrin.gif Yes,... UMS and MicroMech went down when there was a tech selldown in the Nasdaq, but the drop was not big, and hardly justifiable for you to go in, if you remembered what that happened recently,... Investors are still holding tightly to their chests,...

REITs - sure, when they need to refinance, then the new rates would kick-in, but after a few years, the REIT managers would have put in steps that can offset this higher cost-of-financing,... the mgrs just needed time to 'readjust' themselves.
