Today, it seems ASM is easy to get, compared to ASW which I had no success at all.

I see that the dividend for AS1M for this year has already been credited into my account (based on the total amount - mine total amount was a round figure, so it is obvious).

QUOTE(coolguy99 @ Sep 26 2017, 09:50 AM)
how did you do that? i thought you need to have at least 100 units in your account in order to open an account?
*
I opened my account recently after reading up this thread and consulting the helpful seniors here.
As mentioned, you need one account number, but you still need to buy a minimum of RM100 fund to "open" the account for ASW, ASIM and ASM. The units are not readily available (yes, not even RM100 worth), so you have to wait. Unless you have a special relationship with the bank/teller, I doubt they will wait and grab the RM100 worth of funds for you. Hence, chances are they will tell you "no unit, cannot open account". The post office and MBB branch I went to straightaway directed me to go to PNB office where they can view the available units real time.
For my account, I waited 30 minutes before I was able to buy the RM100 "starter" units. For my wife, we waited almost one hour at the PNB office before she managed to get RM100 for two of the funds.

Once you managed to open the account and updated your hp and email address, you will be able to create a user ID and pwd at www.myasnb.com.my to try your luck topping your account. From there, you can pay using internet banking.

worth it to subscribe to this? not familiar with will n inheritance process n requirement.

take a percentage from a dead person sumore 😅
*
The Pengisytiharaan Amanah (spelling?) - whether worth it or not depends on how much hassle and delay in getting the money you expect your n.o.k. to suffer. FYI, if your account balance is < RM10k each, your n.o.k can just get your death certificate and documents proving the relationship (sibling or offspring) to claim the money. It is on a first-come-first-served basis. So, if you can't control who will get your money. For balance > RM10k, your n.o.k. will have to visit Amanah Raya.

Why are you so surprised they take a cut from your estate? Nobody does it for free, especially those Will administrators.

Managed to open my ASW at Maybank, the teller was actually talking to her colleagues that it's available. Then told me only can buy 100 units.
But ASM and AS1M not available.
Now gonna try go ASNB branch see can get ASM and AS1M or not. (Fingers crossed)
*
You are either very lucky or have a lovely face. A few months ago, I went to both post office and MBB branch to open account. I was straightaway advised to do so at PNB office, because "fund is always not available".

QUOTE(mephyll @ Oct 27 2017, 10:25 AM)
says i have RM5k in fix fund account and wanna withdraw. When i withdraw, i can get full RM5k? or any charges?
*
From what I gather in this thread, if you leave RM100 inside, you will get the dividend accrued. If you take all, you get zilch.

Can i top up 3rd party asnb online using my $$( my saving account)

or must be asnb name same as CASA name?
*
You need to log in to the 3rd party asnb account, and in the internet banking page you can select whichever bank you want to use.

Thank you on that.

Since you said can wait, then has anyone here wait before? if got, wait for how long? Takkan 5-6 hours then in the end still no available.
*
I had to wait about 1 hr.
My wife had to wait 2-3 hours.

Based on the lowest amount every month, is it right to say that it’s better for me to withdraw tomorrow instead of today?
*
It depends. Example: if your lowest amount in this month is say, RM10k,on 1/10, and you topped up later in the month to RM20k, you can withdraw RM10k with no change in the amount of dividend you will receive for this month.

QUOTE(smartly @ Oct 31 2017, 11:31 AM)
you mean to say, dividend is earned on amount that is in the account for a full month ? even short of 1 day will you not entitle for it ?
*
It is calculated based on the *lowest* amount you have in your account for the month. Example, you have RM10k on 1/10/17 (brought forward from last month).
1. you top up RM10k to increase your holding to RM20k on 2/10 and remain there until next month. Your dividend will still be calculated at RM10k as this is the lowest amount for this month.
2. you didn't do anything until today (31/10) where you withdraw RM5k. Your dividend for this month will be based on RM5k as this is now the lowest amount for the month.

Do you think will lhdn single out the 500k unit holders and above and investigate them ?
*
I suppose if they have the means to purchase RM500k worth of something that cannot be hidden at all, they should have clean records with LHDN?

Well, if you deposit a lumpsump of 500K into PNB funds without a reliable source of income, of course it will trigger suspicion.

But if you have been investing , consistently over the last few years , putting few thousands every few months, on top of compounding dividends from PNB, and with money trail that can be traced to consistent deposit from your salary account, then it won't trigger suspicion.

Better to be safe and honest with LHDN.
*
So, clean records with LHDN. It's exactly what I'm saying.

If you property only could generate 3% p.a. rental return @ current property market rate, do you will sell the property and dump in ASNB for higher 6% return and hassle-free life (no tenant, cukai, maintenance etc).

Your opinion???

Getting the desired amount of units might be a problem.

Hi SIfus,

Anyone encounter this? Clicked almost 30 min, once success and choose bank for transfer, and dammit  bangwall.gif , Public Bank is not in the list.

Is this temporary? Or only me got this ?

I manage to top up last week with public bank in the drop down list.

Thanks
*
QUOTE(dlttdltt @ Jul 9 2018, 01:43 PM)
As I remember there is no drop down list to choose the bank. They changed it already?  The last time I topped up all the banks will be displayed one the page and just click on my bank only.
*
I also got this drop down menu when I bought units this morning. I was able to use PBB.
