QUOTE(Electraxander @ Apr 25 2018, 06:08 PM) Hi! I am new here. I would like to open a PayPal account. I have look browse through Lowyat forum and I know that. Firstly a debit or credit card is required in order to register to PayPal. But I prefer to use debit card.
In 2007 0r 2009, I can't remember the dates. In order to get a cheaper rates withdrawal. Any bank that is supported by PayPal the setting can be edit from using debit card change to directly link from a bank account.
But in 2014, I saw a thread in Lowyat forum now they limit the options of certain bank accounts that can directlylink to PayPal. So now, some banks only use debit card to top up PayPal but cannot link directly from bank accounts and some certain banks can use a direct link from bank accounts to PayPal.
One of the banks mention is RHB and they didn't tell about the specific name of the other banks. I would like that feature which is the bank account is link directly to PayPal. But that was 4 years ago. I'm not sure the options settings is still the same or have changed.
So now the question is can you give me a list on what certain bank can link bank accounts directly to PayPal as well as the highest successful withdrawal rates and quality friendly top notched service?
Thank you.
I link both my Maybank debit card and bnk account to my paypal with no issues QUOTE(Electraxander @ Apr 26 2018, 12:58 AM) thats just a troll statement.

I was using public bank, withdrew to my account without any issue and I could use the debit card (atm card) to verify paypal and shop with it. You could instantly see the verification code in the online transaction list

But, some banks that supported PayPal can't directly link their bank accounts to PayPal. They only can give top up in the debit card. Withdrawing through directly from bank accounts is much cheaper than debit card. But this was years ago, I don't know if it's still applies.

So are you saying that your public bank account is directly link to your PayPal? Or are you using debit card to link to your PayPal?

Why do you want to top up with debit card or bank account anyway, it will take days for the fund to be in your account. You could just checkout directly with your debit card, there aren't any extra fees iinm. As for the currency rate, you could go with Paypal's rate during payment or let them bill you with USD etc and you follow your bank rate.

Am I right?
if direct from bank account to PayPal.
I don't need to top up.
Am I right?

I don't want to top up. Like I said all my info is from years ago.
Years ago info says that withdraw using link direct bank account is cheaper.
I don't know nowadays withdrawal fees.
Since u are a regular & has a 1st hand experience with PayPal & know really
well about the current fees.
I guess that makes my info obsolete.

Am I right? if direct from bank account to PayPal. I don't need to top up. Am I right? Does Checkout means withdraw? Checkout means when you pay for something when you shop online or trying to send payment to someone. At least for Public bank since the atm/debit card is linked directly to your bank account, you can just select your debit card and it will instantly deduct the amount from your bank account and pay. Some other bank require you to "top up" your debit card by transferring funds from your bank first. And no when you try to pay on Paypal using your bank account, there's a waiting period of at least 3 working days. Well you could top up the funds on your Paypal account with your bank account few days in advance if you know you are going to shop next week, something like store credit. TBH no one uses fund on their account to shop anymore nowadays unless you are selling stuff online.
