Is there a download booster for Miui like in Samsung? You can use both wifi and data to download simultaneously.

Is mi account id the same with uid on the login en.miui.com website?

On my phone, I open Mi Account app, look at the email add there, then login on website, and I see different id or uid number.

When I try to login with that email and use the unlock code, it says "current account is different from account online".. which is why I am asking all these.

2) unlock bootloader
3) root

if root still able to receive OTA updates?

have you installed miflash? also search under fastboot miui rom and download the correct rom for your variant.

extract the zip and place it at c:\

mi flash will encounter error if the directory got spaces in the naming, such as c:\users\my desktop\ ..it supposed to be only c:\users\mydesktop\ ..no space

it's kate mostly all MY warranty right now. kenzo import set no stock in g5. I really don't see the point paying more for warranty, unless you're in Indonesia where only local warranty phone can use 4g.

i agree. I am the kind of person that prefer to buy from authorized resellers. However, in the case with xiaomi, the difference is cheaper by more than 100 for a phone that cost 700. That is a like 15% which is a lot.

Plus since it is so cheap, i guess I hurt less if unable to claim proper warranty. So far I have send warranty to the AP supplier and they seems to be professional about handling warranty. Though mine is only a fix by flashing the ROM, they still did it for me without issue.

I have a colleague who bought from xiaomi malaysia previously. In the span of less than 1 year, the phone already spoil twice. Eventhough the warranty is pretty fast, it is still a hassle and after second warranty, he bought another phone.

I hv a case with era international, who runs mi store lazada... phone spoilt in a week.

Anyway, if you get Kate, like me, so darn difficult to find casing. No choice at all. Just input to consider. It depends on where you are... if it is easy for you to claim supplier warranty or factory warranty.
