im a x-maxsuck user and currently celcom user which my speed not very good. D98 (3.6Mbps) but get speed below 150 Kbps. Its ridiculous. Even test at HSDPA get same speed. Now thinking get digi but need more feedback as i must expect Digi slower than 'farter' celcom and maxis... pls share

for ur info... 150kbps is 3.5G (HSDPA)... if UMTS i can understand although digi edge better (suppose UMTS better).. now im considering terminating my celcom (just use 4 days) however tech guy said they r upgrading their facilities... I also heard many good comment from celcom user n this is y throw my maxis... Now im thinking about DIGI due its stability... the problem here is DIGI is edge tech n its far from HSDPA.. People who never use other than DIGI will not know than my old maxis can download 75KB/s (RM78-HSDPA) and celcom i heard around 150 KB/s (HSDPA-D98).. But now their prime speed had past n their current speed suck... thats y i need ISP with stable connection..
Can DIGI sim card use at USB modem like Huawei e220?

Wonder why made you to subscribe to edge when for the same subscription amount will get you lightning fast speeds on 3G networks ?

I  can't bear 20 - 23KB/s waiting for web pages to load up unless i do not have any choice.

OK
im x-maxsuck user and x-sialcom user (u can see my post in both thread)...
for maxsuck, there r :-

1) cap limit 3GB (although now their limit 15GB) sweat.gif
2) inconsistent speed mad.gif
3) when not using around 5 minutes, signal show UMTS and u can't surf unless reconnect vmad.gif
4) can't torrenting cry.gif
5) CS no knowledge about their own system, rude and always user have more knowledge than CS blink.gif
6) slow action when user face problem and call CS yawn.gif
7) contract 18month (now i heard have to pay RM200 but like my case, i report to MCMC and no penalty given) cry.gif
8) if too many user at one area, speed become worse even can't surfing doh.gif

for sialcom :-

1) cap limit 5GB sweat.gif
2) inconsistent speed mad.gif
3) always show UMTS (my area got HSDPA and im D98 user) and always cant surf in umts signal although connected and signal full 5 bar. vmad.gif
4) CS always tell their system down and ask user to wait for specific date. Call other CS, other date given. rclxub.gif
5) slow action taken by their tech when user get problem (1 month my line problem) mad.gif
6) too many user at one area made ur connection slow/down vmad.gif

For me speed for EDGE consider ok as u can see my post before... even surfing also ok as i already know EDGE speed and can live with it.. not like Sialcom and MAxsuck, u know their speed very fast but surfing like snails... consistent also make me terminate them as to much disconnect. I hope DIGI not like other. If was, I ll terminate and try others till find good ISP maybe P1 (WIMAX provider)..

I've seen your download speed up there, quite good. Know what I have never gotten such download speed when using Celcom even though when my line was not capped. sweat.gif
I will consider sign up one month of data line before deciding to go for DiGi EDGE 123 package or not. smile.gif

celcom still not change..
but during my time with celcom, i manage download 200KB/s using IDM...
but that one time only ..... now become history

For Digi
i try using torrent but seem i manage to download around 1-2 minute only...
any setting needed...
when im surfing and stop at one pages around 30 second, i can't surf anymore (time out) although
im still connected... and I need to reconnect back to surf.. its normal?
when i continuously surfing (non stop receive data), my line ok n no problem..

Using web refresher also help me from disconnecting when not surfing for awhile...
now will try back torrent if manage get good speed as the highest i get so far is 10KB/s...
maybe low seeder as i downloading old file (very big file)

Nice ya. How do you compare it over Celcom? Of course Celcom is faster, but from other perspective? smile.gif
Then, can you run a speedtest when the line is congested? I wanna know how much it is when the traffic is jammed. laugh.gif
Thanks in advance! notworthy.gif

i admit celcom and maxis r faster than DIGI and I know because im their ex user...
thats y i already prepare to live with low speed (20-20KB/s)...
but forur info, maxis and digi can't give two things that DIGI can give :-
1) stability
- its correct maxis n celcom faster but not stable, sometime u get higher speed and sometimes like modem 56kbps. So u know y im changing to DIGI (but im still in trying DIGI around 1 month to give conclusion)

2) unlimited
- no cap limit!!!!... this is good news as im not hear from this thread that DIGI implement cap limit...

Actually for my opinion, it depend ur area. How many user at area as I believe not many digi user at my area (my area got 3 universities, 3 big college) and they prefer to use Celcom/maxis instead of DIGI. Thats y i got maintain speed.. thumbup.gif

although it show 3g but the speed still slow like gprs since my phone only have 3g no edge.....>.<!

Added on May 18, 2008, 7:53 amit show 3 g but maybe it was edge since my phone no edge...

mmm maybe ur corrrect, ur phone can't show EDGE...
im using usb modem so easyly can detect all kind broadband signal (not sure HSUPA)...
thats y i never receive 3G signal from DIGI..
n it useless if u receive 3G (UMTS) or HSDPA but ur speed just 150kbps...
even EDGE can reach 200kbps++

I'm curious that edge can go up to 200kbps. Can backup your claim by posting some speedtest results ?

Here's mine on celcom 3G

mmmm.. i think u r not read my post before.. but its ok... however don't talk about latency.. DIGI worst so don't dream to play online games..
user posted image
thumbup.gif

If u read from DIGI pages, they claim it can reach 384kbps but like u. im also not believe. However, 200++kbps for me is fast compare celcom 3G than claim go up to 384kbps, but mostly u get around 150++kbps only... brows.gif

oo forgot to tell u, im ex-maxis (RM78 package)/celcom user (RM98 package).. so i believe u r in RM98 package...
and ur area maybe don't have lot of user as I am mean u can get good speed (but for me u r speed r not good consider 70% from 3.6Mbps)

hmm...those are extraordinary speeds for a connection that is supposedly maxxing out at 384kbps. If only they have edge at my place instead of hsdpa only.

as it is i'm only averaging 700 - 1200 kbps even on hsdpa

yeah... i know the celcom bb speed... my highest speed when using celcom around 1250kbps++ but its not always happen and my signal always change to UMTS (and i can't surf... what the hell).. if u think want to change BB , i think u can try their prepaid DIGI first as i did.. thats y i subscribe after test with my modem... don't simply subscribe just because somebody recommend u but they not live within ur area.. trust me...

i think its true as DIGI already receive 3G licence...
so maybe they testing their facilities before launching a new era of 3G (just for DIGI user),, hhhehehehe
hope not like other isp....

nope, no 3g indicator at my phone, so that probably is gprs ..>.>..

still consider whether to get a usb modem or just use my phone to connect to internet....
*
ehhh... y only gprs.. no EDGE?
ur phone suppose support EDGE as well but what I heard
some fon not support EDGE... so maybe thats y u only can receive GPRS or UMTS
